Post Number 1367: From Derby to the Stars - Drag Queens in the Year 2033

Darling!

It's Emma here, back from another whirl through the timeline! Buckle your sequins and grab a sparkly cocktail, because today's story is positively, absolutely… extra!

You see, my lovely darlings, this month I'm skipping back to a day of pure, unadulterated joy – November 11th, 2033.

My oh my, you wouldn't BELIEVE what the drag world was like! Imagine: it's the season finale of Drag Race: World Domination, featuring queens from every corner of the globe, vying for the crown, a whole tour with Lady Gaga and, of course, the grand prize – a pink tutu with built-in time travel abilities. Wouldn't that be fab, ducks?!

This time, my dear reader, I was in the audience! (Can you imagine my absolute DELIGHT!) My trusty pink tutu swished me all the way to the Drag Dome in New York, an absolute wonderland of lasers, glitter, and dazzling drag, a building shaped like a giant sequined stiletto!

And speaking of dazzling, the queens… Oh, the queens! I saw the powerhouse vocals of the Pakistani queen Rani Roxx – a complete and utter icon, absolutely rocking a ruby-red dress that could make a nun swoon. Then there was Gigi Glam, a Mexican trans queen with a drag family dynasty dating back generations. She sashayed across the stage in a silver feathered frock with such chops it was utterly magical!

From drag queens singing pop hits in Japan (all in flawless Japanese!), to drag kings spinning breakdancing magic in Brazil, to the fiercest runway looks in Australia, this finale was a drag-tastic riot of colours, sounds, and sassy personalities.

The world's most iconic drag competition is certainly one to see if you find yourself in the time-travelling, fabulous-ness-loving situation like moi, darling. But don't worry, I’ll spill the tea on the actual winner… But let’s stick to the historical journey, shall we?

Speaking of historical journeys, we're not talking just about Drag Race, darling. Back in 2033, drag was flourishing everywhere! Drag shows were no longer confined to the back rooms of pubs or dingy basements. Drag was a mainstream phenomenon – you could find drag queens performing on primetime TV, singing pop anthems in stadium tours, and even holding elected office! It was like a dream come true!

In fact, there was even a movement to have drag shows designated as official UNESCO Heritage Sites! Can you imagine!

And it all started, as it did with so much in drag history, with a lot of passion and hard work from talented, fierce, and fabulous individuals who dared to break the mold. Just like all of you beautiful, sassy readers out there!

So, here’s my challenge for the month, darlings: Let’s spread the joy of drag in your own unique way! Put on a fabulous show for your friends and family!

You can get them all in pink tutus! (What? A drag queen never loses hope on her pink tutu mission). Or, perhaps you can organize a fundraising event for a local LGBT+ charity! No matter what you do, let's celebrate drag and show the world that our community is more fabulous, fierce, and talented than ever before.

And don’t forget – be sure to check out www.pink-tutu.com next month for more drag history delights. I'll be travelling back to another spectacular drag era. Stay fabulous, and until then, I'll be sending you all my love…

Your dear Emma xoxo

(PS: Don’t forget to send in those time travel requests, darling!)
