Pink Tutu Time Travels - Post #398: A Flutter of Feathers and a Whiff of History (2nd February 1694)

Hello darlings, and welcome to my little corner of the internet, dedicated to all things pink, fabulous, and tutu-licious! I'm Emma, your very own time-travelling ballerina, and I'm so thrilled you've joined me for another jaunt through history! Today we're going to the shimmering court of Louis XIV, where I just know we're going to have a perfectly lovely time!

Remember those fluffy feathers and impossibly high heels I brought back from the 17th Century? They were nothing short of divine, weren't they? Well, hold on to your tiaras, darling, because today's adventure promises even more fashion-forward brilliance! The 2nd of February 1694 - what a date! It was a time of exquisite dancing and theatrical spectacle, the perfect backdrop for our time travel adventure. And guess who is the perfect companion for my adventure? Magic Meg, of course! My darling pink-sparkling shire, with her golden hooves and mane like a cloud, is ready to whisk me through the centuries with her graceful gait. Her leather tack glistens like polished pearls, and the pink ribbons we braid in her mane dance merrily in the wind!

Before I slip into my trusty leather rucksack (filled with this month's ballet finds, of course!), I want to tell you all about today's historical event: a glittering royal performance, celebrating a triumph of French Ballet! Imagine, a royal gathering where every movement, every glance, is imbued with elegance and artistry. I'm sure there'll be an abundance of silken skirts, shimmering jewellery, and an orchestra playing music to rival the birdsong of a spring day. I can practically feel the energy radiating from this historical event already, and I'm buzzing with excitement. My mind is swirling with visions of powdered wigs, delicate silk gowns, and dazzling diamond necklaces. It's a historical feast for the eyes and the soul!

Today, though, is more than just a spectacle. I'll be seeking out the fascinating story of these ballet performances and adding their story to my ever-growing collection of ballet historical nuggets. Imagine being able to wear a costume from this era or perform to this time period's music - it is almost enough to send a girl into a delightful fit! I'm sure I'll find some charming pieces of history to take back with me - maybe a vintage fan or even a tiny locket of jewellery worn by a noblewoman who adored ballet!

Do you know what, darlings? I wouldn't have it any other way! It's just a wee bit thrilling to get up close and personal with ballet history. But, it wouldn't be an adventure without a touch of pink, now would it? I'll be wearing my new tulle creation – a swirl of delicate pink fabric, meticulously gathered and pleated to give it a billowing silhouette that truly captures the essence of the courtly style of the 17th century. I know, it's the perfect way to combine my love for history, fashion and ballet in a whirlwind of colour!

But what's the adventure without sharing it? I’ll be posting about all my findings on my blog, www.pink-tutu.com, of course. Don’t forget to subscribe and keep up with all my historical shenanigans. Now, without further ado, onto that shimmering, historic stage I go! Until next month, my darlings, I’ll leave you with this: never lose your twinkle and always embrace your inner ballerina! And if you really want to embrace that ballerina feeling, then grab yourself a pink tutu and join me on my historical adventures. Oh, and remember, everyone looks radiant in pink, so don't be shy to unleash your inner tutu queen!

See you next month for a new historical adventure!

Until then, stay pink, stay sparkly, and keep dancing!

Love, Emma

P.S. You might ask how I finance my travels through time. It's all thanks to my beloved ballet performances, which I love just as much as travelling! Imagine me, twirling on a stage under sparkling lights, dressed in the most elegant of pink tutus! My performances aren't just about the dancing; they're about sharing my passion for this magical art with others, bringing joy and colour to every stage! And don't even get me started on all the wonderful costumes, music, and stories that I collect along the way...

So, my darlings, don't just admire pink tutus, wear them! Let your spirit shine bright in a flurry of tulle, and be the princess you've always dreamed of being!
