Hello, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast and time travelling leotard aficionado. It's June the 6th, 1933, and as usual, I'm absolutely buzzing to be back on this fabulous journey!
As you know, each month, I hop into my magical, pink sparkly time travelling leotard, and zoom through time, to see what's new and fabulous in the world of leotard fashion!
This month, we're heading to... 1933! I was thrilled to see the amazing leotards worn in 1933. Let's dive right in, shall we?

This year, 1933, in the world of dance, is simply a show-stopper! The emphasis on lines in both clothing and movement was particularly captivating.
I was blown away by the revolutionary use of bold black leotards, worn under the iconic tulle tutus, like a sharp contrasting line, creating stunning silhouettes. This striking colour combination of black leotards with delicate pink or white tutus is what totally took my breath away. It gave me goosebumps and brought the classic beauty of ballet fashion to another level. To my absolute joy, 1933 also boasted a captivating rise in leotard use outside the world of ballet. I couldn't resist popping into some local theatres to see a couple of plays! You just can't help yourself when you spot a beautiful vintage show - so elegant!
Here, I observed the growing popularity of leotards in other areas. There were dramatic and sophisticated leotard outfits worn by acrobats in variety shows. Imagine leotards in beautiful shimmering fabrics that reflected the light - Absolutely exquisite!
It felt fantastic to see that the beautiful leotards had spread their charm to these fantastic, exciting shows, further enriching and adding another layer to the magic of the performances!
