As always, my trusty, shimmering, pink time-travelling leotard was my trusty companion, whisking me back to January 2002 in a flurry of glitter and excitement. You know, my little secret to funding these adventures? Street ballet! A cheeky shimmy and a sprinkle of pink charm in the town square and voila! I'm off to explore the leotard world!
Fashion Forward
January 2002 was all about comfort meets style. The focus was on flexible, lightweight fabrics that moved beautifully with the dancers, offering maximum freedom for leaps, turns, and everything in between. Think sleek, form-fitting leotards in vibrant colours – we're talking fiery oranges, sunshine yellows, and rich sapphire blues, oh my! But don't worry, dear readers, pink remained a consistent favourite, finding its way onto delicate lace trims, shimmery satin panels, and even whole leotard designs!

It was the era of the cropped leotard. Just imagine, a chic, abbreviated design that flaunted those beautiful dancer legs! It was everywhere! On the stages of world-famous ballet companies, on aspiring young dancers, and even in dance classes around the globe.
