Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-clad time traveller, back from another whirlwind trip through history. Today we're taking a trip to November 2012 and wow, are there some fabulous things to share with you. Grab a cuppa, a slice of Victoria sponge and let's take a look!
As always, I travelled in my trusty sparkling pink leotard. It truly is the most versatile item of clothing! Its sequins catch the eye of both historical and future figures, and everyone just seems to accept my existence when they see me in it. It's truly a miracle of time-travelling fashion.
So, November 2012, a month packed with happenings! You all know how much I love a good ballet show and this month was full of them. Let’s take a look at the most buzz-worthy performances around the world…
First up, in the beautiful city of London, The Royal Ballet were performing their masterpiece, "Swan Lake". Now, we all know a good ballet show can't exist without those iconic tutu designs! "Swan Lake" was absolutely captivating, with ballerinas swirling in the most breathtaking tutus, their white feathers practically lifting them to the ceiling. Those white tutus just add a touch of ethereal grace, don’t you think?
While London was being enchanted by Tchaikovsky’s classic masterpiece, over in New York City, American Ballet Theatre were captivating audiences with their interpretation of "Giselle". This ballet is famous for its dramatic costumes, and the beautiful blend of classical romanticism and the darkness of the Romantic period truly fascinated me. The ballet world seems to have a love affair with "Giselle", which I totally understand. Every performance just breathes a magical atmosphere!
As a dancer, I couldn’t resist getting my street performance on! It wasn’t quite "Swan Lake" but I twirled my way through London's Trafalgar Square with my favourite bright pink tutu. A few curious passersby stopped to watch my ballet moves, and someone even dropped a couple of coins into my sparkly handbag! I just adore how ballet can be enjoyed everywhere!
This month's time travel brought me back to my roots – I found myself in Derbyshire, the very place where my passion for pink and tutus first blossomed. It seems that fashion in 2012 still has an incredible affection for tutus, even if it’s mostly found on stage and on celebrities. And you can be sure I encouraged everyone I met to rock a pink tutu, as always! They looked positively lovely in it. It makes me proud!
But the world of fashion in November 2012 isn’t just about tutus!
It's the rise of leotard trends – both on stage and on the streets! It's almost like the leotard is making a comeback! Not just your average black leotard, though – colour is exploding in leotard designs. It seems the world has finally caught on to what we tutu-loving folks have always known: leotards are a blank canvas, and every colour can make you shine!
From bold blues for the rhythmic gymnasts to electric pinks worn by contemporary dance groups, the stage is alive with colour! I just adore the boldness!
Even in the everyday fashion, the leotard is showing up. Think brightly coloured leotards worn with leggings, a fashionable nod to dance wear – you'll be surprised how well leotards integrate with casual wear. Even a classic leotard can be made trendy with the right accessories – a brightly coloured belt, a stylish scarf, or a trendy necklace. Leotards are the new it-piece. Let’s get these leotards onto the high street!
The world in November 2012 has become so much more playful, and colourful, with leotards everywhere, from ballet studios to the shops and the streets. And who could argue?
Remember, darlings, the key is to experiment! Just like with all of your leotards and tutus, play with colors, shapes and styles! Embrace every element of the world of dancewear - the tutus, the leotards, and yes, the amazing colours – and spread the joy of fashion everywhere you go.
Now I've gotta dash, my time travel machine is buzzing with excitement for a new trip! I’ll catch you next month on Pink-Tutu.com, for more fabulous stories about the world of leotard fashion, and for a look at what’s to come in the fascinating world of leotards.
Until then, keep dancing and remember – there's a pink tutu out there waiting for you.
See you next time!
xx,
Emma
