Hello, my darling darlings! Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire ballerina, bringing you the latest from my fabulous pink-tutu time travels! Today, we’re whisked away to June 2022 - a month jam-packed with leotard delights, fashion trends, and of course, plenty of pink!
Oh, my! This month's trip was quite a whirlwind! I was swirling around the world in my glittering, magical pink leotard, popping in and out of different times, seeing how leotard fashion evolves. Honestly, my head is still spinning with all the dazzling styles!
I started my adventure right here in Derbyshire, popping in to see a fab local performance of ‘Giselle’. What a sight, my dears! The ballet dancers were swirling in their gorgeous, traditional white tutus with delicate, lace trim, and their classic leotards. They were absolute dreamboats! I felt a real wave of nostalgia as I watched them, as I'm sure you'll all agree, the classic tutu has a certain elegance, an undeniable charm, wouldn’t you say? I just have to get mine made. And in pink, of course!
Next stop, Paris, for the enchanting haute couture show by my absolute favourite leotard designer, La Petite Ballerina. Oh, darling, this collection was EVERYTHING! From swirling, celestial tutus shimmering in lilac, pearl and champagne, to those divine leotards made from the most exquisite silks, each one a work of art. This collection had me dreaming of Parisian cobblestone streets and starlit evenings, sipping champagne at the theatre, feeling fabulous and completely on trend in a La Petite Ballerina creation. Oh my! That is my dream life right there.
And after that, I dashed over to New York for the American Ballet Theatre’s Gala! Oh my, this performance blew me away, darling. They were wearing absolutely incredible, modern leotards with beautiful intricate detailing. Some were layered, almost like costumes! I felt as though I had been transported to a magical fantasy land. This performance reminded me that leotard fashion is always pushing boundaries, constantly evolving and showcasing the incredible talent of dancers and designers alike!
This month, the leotard fashion world was absolutely abuzz with bold prints! Think stripes, polka dots, and even daring geometric shapes adorning everything from leotards to warm-up clothes. Bold, vibrant, and confident - a fantastic representation of this era's sense of style. You can say goodbye to boring neutrals; this season it's all about colour and vibrancy!
But, the highlight of my trip, my dears, was an amazing show at the Royal Opera House. I took a quick detour to watch a performance of the ballet "Swan Lake" - and OH MY WORD, darling, the costumes were incredible! This is a must-see show. I loved the ballerina’s stunning black tutus adorned with feathers - talk about breathtaking! But the highlight? Their classic, chic black leotards with dazzling silver embroidery, simply divine! They really encapsulated the elegance and sophistication of a timeless performance. It made me really think about how important it is for me to use my travels and my blog to champion classical styles like this, which are forever in fashion.
After London, it was straight back home to Derbyshire, ready for a whole new adventure, and more of the exciting, ever-evolving world of leotard fashion! I can’t wait to see what next month’s trip will bring.
