Oh, how the time flies! It's a year where I find myself feeling utterly overwhelmed with all the dazzling new designs! Where shall I even begin?
This month, my magical pink time travelling leotard zipped me off to… Tokyo, of course! Tokyo is always an inspiration when it comes to leotard fashion! This time, it was the opening of a whole new leotard brand: Neon Bloom. Neon Bloom's aesthetic is totally different from anything I've seen before. It's a delightful explosion of color and, of course, neons! You could practically see these leotards shimmering from the other side of the world! They have an absolutely stunning range of colors: pink (my personal favourite!), purple, and sky blue are just a few. Imagine a bright yellow leotard paired with a shimmering emerald tutu, and you're on the right track! But of course, it wasn't all just about colour, Neon Bloom has a dedication to ethically sourced, sustainable fabrics. Every leotard was made with an eco-consciousness. Which, let's be honest, just adds to the whole appeal, doesn't it?
I have to admit, seeing these incredible leotards all lined up at the opening of their new store made my heart skip a beat! And my fellow dance enthusiasts? You won’t be disappointed by the selection! Every leotard is designed for movement, but with a unique, playful flair! The fabrics, from buttery soft to vibrant textures, have the feel of an actual piece of art.
My other trip this month took me back in time - I mean, I literally travelled back in time! Imagine, a grand London theatre! I saw an exquisite ballet performance, a truly magical blend of classic choreography and the latest leotard fashion trends! The choreography was inspired by modern street dance styles - lots of flips and turns! And the leotards were dazzling! One particular dancer, the star of the show, wore a stunning custom-made emerald green leotard! The intricate design around the neck was absolutely breath-taking! It had all the classic elements you'd expect from a stage leotard: comfort, fit, and stunning visuals! I saw an entire section of the ballet dedicated to leotard history and it made my heart swell! We may live in the future but, it’s always wonderful to acknowledge the legacy that created this fabulous leotard world.
Speaking of legacy! Have you all had a chance to watch the Leotard-a-thon recently? I know, it sounds mad, right? This new TV show, a big dance-off extravaganza, celebrates the diversity and the joy of leotard wear, spanning over several weeks. From stage costumes to dance competitions, from fashion shows to dance performances, it features every style imaginable! Leotards of every colour, shape, and size! This show has quickly become my favourite on television, and it is certainly making waves within the leotard fashion scene. It’s even inspiring me to practice my street ballet skills. So much creativity and talent, I need to up my own game!
However, you don’t need a grand stage or a magical pink leotard to embrace the leotard world, dear readers. The real magic, the one that fills me with absolute glee, is seeing everyone enjoying themselves in a leotard! I love spotting people wearing their leotards out on the street, in the park, at the gym, or simply around town. Even the smallest towns now have shops showcasing leotard collections!
The beautiful thing about leotard fashion, you see, is that there’s a style for every taste and every occasion.
