Hello lovelies! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another enchanting journey through the fabulous world of leotards! This month, our Time Travelling Tutu has taken me to the year 2035, specifically September! Buckle up, darling, because it’s going to be a dazzling voyage through leotard fashion and a whole heap of glitter.
As you know, it's been my dream since I was a wee thing, to travel through time in my sparkly pink leotard. Not just to visit famous ballerinas, but to get a sense of leotard fashion throughout the ages! Now, let's just be clear: I wouldn’t want to travel alone, not without my precious time machine… a pink leotard which allows me to hop across the centuries in a blink. Oh, and I always have to wear my tutu too – just for the visual feast. You wouldn't catch me dead without it, my lovelies!
It all started, just as many of your childhood dreams, by going to a local street performance. My best mate Holly, suggested we dress up in tutus and give it a go. I'd always loved the feeling of twirling and felt inspired by watching a street performance just a couple of weeks before! To this day, she insists it was all her doing - that if she'd worn her favourite pink leotard and the two of us had practiced enough, that the sparkles and glitter would have brought us to where we are now. And let's be honest, she wasn't wrong... Those dancing street performances do fund my leotard time travel... although my pink leotard just has an affinity with travel in general. Oh, how I adore street performance - my dear friend Holly always comes to my performances too! She makes the most fantastic street performance hats to match my tutus. The joy is unreal, my darling. But I digress... back to 2035.
September 2035: Stepping into September 2035 felt strangely familiar. Imagine my excitement to see such wonderfully futuristic styles yet familiar ones too. Fashion's just evolved – sleek leotards with built-in high-tech materials, that change colour and pattern when they pick up a signal from my sparkling pink leotard! Honestly, the possibilities! I managed to nab a snap of my very own reflection in this magical mirror in a shop window, where leotard fashions of every colour imaginable shimmered under a holographic sky, and then… oh darling, then the unthinkable happened, someone wearing an actual tutu popped up out of a nearby bus. As they swung their pink tutu into the air, it sparkled! The look on my face? Well, pure joy and utter fascination! The fact that it shimmered pink with my pink leotard in 2035, well, it simply had to be a sign. A divine sign.
The streets in 2035 buzzed with fashion-forward leotards, almost a rainbow in their colours and textures! From delicate sheer fabrics in pastel tones to strong neon colours in super stretchy ones, the streets just shimmered! Even some of the high street shops were stocking leotards of all sorts of types. This time period wasn't a leotard wonderland of fashion, more a wonderland of fabric technology. It felt a lot like being a part of a show! From high performance workout fabrics, shimmering silver ones with built-in microchips and more! The world had not left the more traditional ones behind, oh no. They’d added more vibrant colours with holographic highlights, a futuristic twist on a timeless design.
To be honest, it had given me the perfect excuse to purchase a few new pink tutus to match all these amazing leotard colours. This futuristic technology allowed them to be light enough to wear whilst travelling.
Let me just tell you, it felt utterly amazing. The fashion had certainly taken off. The whole thing gave me an irresistible itch to add my own touch, even a few decades into the future. Don't tell anyone, darling, but the secret's out! In the future, I hope to help get even more women and girls wearing tutus in 2035 and beyond.
But now it’s time to pack it all in, the 2035 leotards have left me with so much to think about. I hope my latest pink tutu acquisitions, as well as a couple of silver holographic ones to boot, can give me even more ideas in the years ahead!
