I was so excited about this month’s trip, I spent the last two weeks dreaming up the perfect look. After all, you can't go back in time without looking absolutely fabulous. This month's time travelling outfit was a custom creation - a sparkling pink leotard with a soft, flowing pink tulle skirt – perfect for pirouetteing through the 21st century. Of course, my trusty pink ballet shoes were the finishing touch!

So, strap in, lovely readers, because we're about to travel to September 2050 – where leotard fashion is vibrant, exciting, and oh-so-fun!

First things first – a stroll down memory lane, so to speak, and what a stroll it was! This century was an absolute explosion of style! Fashion designers were no longer constrained by the old, rigid rules. They were experimenting, pushing boundaries, and creating daringly beautiful new designs.

Think holographic leotards shimmering under neon lights, leotards woven from organic materials, like recycled ocean plastic! And of course, there was a wide variety of leotards with innovative eco-conscious features like solar-powered lights, giving a new dimension to performance pieces! There were even leotards that changed colour with your mood, imagine! This decade in the 21st century redefined what a leotard could be – a canvas for the wildest imaginations!

One thing I absolutely adored was the diversity. It was amazing to see designers embracing every kind of body. It didn't matter your size, shape, or style - there was a leotard out there to make you feel your best, full of confidence and beautiful, as if a dancer from the ballet was floating on air! It made my little ballerina heart happy!

My first stop was the incredible city of London, always a fashion icon. From a little performance in a Hyde Park in a glitzy emerald green leotard and my signature pink tulle skirt (you can never have enough pink!), I heard whispers about the amazing new 'Luminous' collection at a little boutique tucked away near Covent Garden. This was the talk of the town! They even said Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, was seen there with her girls! You bet your bestest ballet slippers I rushed to see for myself!

As you might expect from London, everything was sophisticated and chic. The collection was inspired by celestial bodies, featuring glittering fabrics like stardust and breathtaking geometric designs. One leotard was made to resemble a comet's tail! Imagine, wearing a comet's tail across the stage – dazzling!

Then came the piece de resistance. My jaw practically dropped when I saw the limited-edition collection, 'Pink Skies', designed to pay tribute to the "pink skies of dawn", It was stunning - pink with hints of amethyst. A real leotard fit for a princess! Of course, I purchased the one they said was rare. And to think it is now part of my private leotard collection! (I am very good at persuading, if I do say so myself!)

Across the pond, I made my way to New York City, another hotbed of fashion! This vibrant metropolis never fails to surprise with its daring style, its energetic streets, and oh-so-creative performances. The energy is so exhilarating, you could cut it with a dance shoe!

You know how much I adore a show, so off I popped to see 'The Dream Catcher,' a dazzling performance showcasing a captivating mix of classical and modern choreography! It featured costumes that were phenomenal, with elaborate hand-sewn designs! A symphony of movement, colour, and captivating emotion – pure magic!

Later that evening, I headed to the "New York Leotard Exhibition", held at the Museum of Art and Performance in the heart of Manhattan. It showcased some of the most iconic leotards worn on Broadway, ballet, and in modern dance throughout history! The exhibition, featuring designers of the century, was a perfect way to experience how leotards have evolved.

This was more than an exhibition - it was a journey. Seeing how different eras embraced design and the story it tells, from elegant vintage to daring new creations. From graceful costumes on display that have been worn by legendary performers to pieces inspired by groundbreaking concepts, there was inspiration at every turn! And the pink tutu, what an impact on the world, I just knew!

I wasn’t finished. The energy of 21st-century fashion was intoxicating! I jetted off to Japan, with its rich culture, renowned for its avant-garde and exquisitely crafted designs. Imagine being welcomed in an ancient temple by an ethereal Japanese dancer wearing a beautifully ornate leotard inspired by their famous Kabuki theater tradition! It was almost mystical, the colors, the style, everything was perfection! I was smitten!

Then on to the streets of Buenos Aires, the dance capital of Argentina. Imagine the warmth and vibrant rhythm that pulsates from this magical city! It made my dancing feet practically start tap dancing as soon as we touched down! The Argentinean Tango! A sensual dance of passionate emotion! This iconic dance, in which a woman wears a sensual black leotard with the most dazzlingly sparkling sequins – it was simply divine! I spent hours soaking up the beauty, the elegance and the raw talent of its dancers, which just took my breath away.

Each place I travelled brought a new sense of wonder, from the elegant grandeur of Moscow to the passionate beats of Rio de Janeiro – every stop brought me closer to realizing the incredible reach of this piece of clothing!

The pink leotard - so simple, yet so symbolic. Its beauty transcends boundaries of style, ethnicity, and age! This month's adventure confirmed it again - the pink leotard is a force to be reckoned with!
