Wednesday 27th September, 1995
Hello darlings! It's me, your favourite pink tutu wearing space-faring ballerina, Emma! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet where we delve into the magical world of tutus, twirls, and travelling through the cosmos! I'm just back from a whirlwind trip around the Andromeda Galaxy and boy, oh boy, are my dancing shoes tired! (Don't worry, they're not a dusty old pair, I've got a new collection of sparkle-tastic custom-made tutus just for my spacefaring adventures, you'll just have to wait and see them in my next post!).
Dancing Through The Stars!
This time, I ventured out to a planet called "Glimmer" – truly a place that sparkles! I swear, everything shimmered, from the iridescent plants to the swirling, star-filled night sky! It was like a giant disco ball! I had the absolute pleasure of performing at their annual 'Celestial Ballet' – it was quite the experience, performing for an audience of cosmic jellyfish! The local troupe, the "Nebular Ballerinas", were exquisite. They were wearing stunning tutus fashioned from shimmering nebular dust! Imagine, darlings! A tutu crafted from cosmic debris! It’s so inspiring how the universe weaves art and nature together in the most extraordinary ways. I do love it when local tradition is a key part of an outfit. Of course, the crowd was absolutely enthralled, showering me with compliments and glowing… well, everything really! It seems the universe is captivated by pink tutus too!
A Tutus From Earth To Andromeda
Back on Earth, life is quite different to space, you know. A lot less sparkling dust! I find myself still yearning for that celestial energy, even now, sitting here, with the comforting familiarity of my little pink studio in Derbyshire, the wind whispering past my windows. It’s here, however, where the real heart of ballet beats. The tradition, the history, the artistry; the magic.
The 27th Of September 1995
I’m not sure why, but the 27th of September 1995, just holds a special significance for me, perhaps it was the date of a particularly memorable performance or a beautiful ballet show in London's West End! Or maybe, perhaps I can't be certain, I stumbled upon the most divine tutu collection in Covent Garden – who knows, darlings! Every day can hold a magical surprise. Speaking of magical surprises, my trip to Glimmer also allowed me to add another magnificent tutu to my collection. A beautiful iridescent shimmering tulle creation fashioned from a single stardust cloud.
Earthly Delights: Back In Derbyshire!
After my whirlwind travels, it's always such a comfort to come back to Earth, and my beloved home town of Derbyshire! I just can't get enough of the crisp autumn air, the colours, and that special feeling you get at this time of year – oh, I adore the scent of fallen leaves! It brings such a feeling of peace. You know, the English countryside really is a great source of inspiration – all those shades of green, browns and golds; and then of course, the occasional spot of pink! You can't help but feel creatively invigorated, and of course, there’s nothing more magical than watching a new season arrive. And as a ballerina, let’s not forget the excitement of the coming dance season in England.
Fashion and Shopping Therapy!
Today, as always, I must mention fashion. Today I must confess to a day at the shops! This time I was inspired to create the perfect outfits to compliment the beautiful tutu I acquired in Andromeda. Now, I have to say the planet has a pretty limited wardrobe - mainly shimmering dust, as you can imagine. The Glimmerites only ever wear one colour; Glimmer. Oh, and yes, we all have that, even Earthling girls! I spent some lovely hours shopping for colours to match and complement my new galactic garment. This season, all of my pink has a hint of shimmering blue! I'm excited about a new wave of tutus made in this new, shimmery colourway, just perfect for when I'm travelling between galaxies. This also included searching for the perfect sparkly little heels that complement the space-inspired fashion, and naturally I was on the lookout for a new little handbag. I just adore shopping; I believe we deserve beautiful and inspiring items to add to our everyday life. As we say in Derbyshire; we deserve some glitz!
Ballet And The Universe!
I must share something with you, darling readers. A recent interview with a leading space scientist! Did you know that there are galaxies that are a giant kaleidoscope of colour? Can you imagine, swirling colours! It would look divine on a ballerina, would it not? A true cosmic dancer. Just like our very own milky way! The sheer artistry of the universe.
I will confess that I'm absolutely determined to design a cosmic tutu – something inspired by the colour palettes I have been dreaming of. A futuristic fabric that shimmers and glows just like the swirling nebulae! We all love a bit of space age in our life don't we? This might require a few more interstellar adventures but nothing stops a tutu girl!
It was great to share this little journey with you and hopefully it inspired you! It's a joy for me to bring a bit of intergalactic fashion and joy into your week. Have you been dancing too? What are your favourite places to travel? What are your favourite tutus and colours? Write and tell me everything,
With love and twirls!
Emma xoxo.
