Hello my darlings! 💋 It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… a brand new Pink Tutu World blog post for you all! And I am bursting at the seams with excitement, ready to whisk you away on another whirlwind adventure!
This week, we're taking a trip down memory lane to November 29th, 1995, the day I first graced Planet Earth with my fabulous, twirling self. Yes, I was born on this very date, in the lovely county of Derbyshire, England. Isn't it wonderful? We’ve got this date to celebrate in addition to the ever-growing universe of the Pink Tutu movement!
But let's rewind a bit… it all started with a twinkle in my eyes and a pink tulle in my hand. A bit like a magical pixie dream, really, just wanting to swirl, twirl, and float around in the most dazzling of pink tulle garments, I just knew a life in pink tutus was my calling.
As soon as I could stand (or more accurately, leap!) I was glued to my ballet lessons, learning the elegant arabesques and soaring fouettés. My first tutu came with my first pointe shoe, and from there it was a ballet-obsessed love affair. Ballet has always been my lifeblood - it's in my soul, it’s in my veins, it’s in the pink tulle that surrounds my very existence!
And it wasn't just about the dance, darlings. It was the history, the art, the sheer brilliance of every fold and every feather in a meticulously crafted tutu that filled me with joy.
Oh, and those tutus, my dears… tutu history is just as enchanting as ballet history. From the 19th-century creations designed to be more voluminous and billowy, like the iconic 'tutu de plume' made of feathers, to the lighter, more agile tutus that came later, each era brings its own unique charm and flair. Imagine waltzing across a grand stage in a billowing tutu, oh the magic!
Of course, with a love of fashion this strong, shopping is a non-negotiable part of life, and what’s a better excuse than prepping for a show? My motto? Dress to impress! The glittering ball gowns, the velvet suits, the feather boas... every performance is a fashion spectacle and my wardrobe is bursting with enough sequins and feathers to make even the most dazzling of birds envious.
As you may know, I finance my cosmic ballet adventures with a whole lot of dazzling performances. Dancing is my passion, and each one brings me closer to my ultimate dream – to see a world wearing pink tutus! Who would've thought that an unassuming Derbyshire girl would become a beacon for all things pink and fluffy in the vast universe?
This week, I'm taking you to one of my favorite ballet shows: The Royal Ballet’s Swan Lake, performed at the Royal Opera House. Oh, the drama! The grace! The soaring lifts! And, of course, a stunning display of tulle! It truly doesn’t get better than Swan Lake.
Speaking of which, I saw a simply fabulous white tutu there, a stunning blend of lace and tulle. It took me right back to the heart of Swan Lake's legend, that yearning for true love and freedom. It's moments like these, immersed in the story, the dance, the costumes, where I feel utterly alive!
From a trip to a chic Parisian boutique for a new crop top, to sipping tea at a tea room on the moon, the universe holds countless adventures, waiting to be explored, each one inspiring me and moving me ever closer to spreading the joy of the pink tutu. And oh, the amazing people I meet along the way – other fellow tutu enthusiasts, space explorers, designers… a galaxy full of vibrant, colourful characters.
Don’t worry, though, my lovelies. Even amidst the dazzling chaos of my life, I always carve out time for you all! I wouldn't want to keep my Pink Tutu world secret. So here's to Wednesday, to tutus, to the wonderful and beautiful world of ballet, and of course, to sharing this journey with you.
Let's keep our heads in the clouds and our feet pointed! 🩰

As you’ve heard, Swan Lake had me thinking a little, but in a very good way! If I haven't been talking about my travels, it means I'm off on one, getting caught up in the wonder of new cultures, new dances, and oh my, the most fabulously fun outfits! My trip today was quite wonderful - and oh, the adventures to come... It's impossible to imagine, my darlings, the dazzling places we'll go.
