Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Blog Post #70

August 28th, 1996

Hello my dearest tutu-lovers! It's your favourite pink-clad space-faring ballerina, Emma, back with another cosmically fabulous blog post from planet Earth! Buckle up, darlings, because today we're diving into a world of sparkle, twirls, and, of course, a healthy dose of pink!

As you all know, I'm on a mission to make the universe a more tutu-filled place! And what better place to start than this little blue marble, our very own planet Earth! I've been exploring Earth for a while now, and it truly is a magical place. Just yesterday I found myself in a delightful little corner of Derbyshire, England. Derbyshire, my birth place, is a charming spot with stunning scenery, so quaint!

Now, let's get down to the real reason we're here. My fabulous Earth travels have taken me to London, the cultural epicentre of this planet. While here, I treated myself to a delightful ballet performance at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The show? Swan Lake! Of course, I made sure to arrive in a particularly dazzling pink tutu that shimmered under the stage lights, and everyone noticed me, they all complimented me on my fantastic look, such an enchanting sight. I received countless smiles, applause and appreciative glances, even the odd bouquet! Just as I enjoy showing the universe how fab a tutu looks on me, it’s just as satisfying watching everyone else looking dazzling and fashionable, my pink power working its magic, a contagious pink ballet wave rippling out across the galaxy!

After the performance, I felt truly inspired. It was all I could do to resist dashing onto the stage and taking my bow. Luckily, the star ballerina of the show was lovely, her performance was truly sensational, but the thought of an intergalactic dancer doing her own encore was more than I could handle. However, we did manage to have a chat backstage, as I do love a bit of chit-chat after a good show. And it got me thinking. The history of dance is so rich and fascinating! I have always been fascinated by its history, the evolution of costumes, particularly those gorgeous tulle confections - tutus - have gone through such a colourful journey! They are a work of art in themselves. And when you add in all the exquisite movements of the dancers, it's a real symphony for the senses, just how I like it! Just a delicious dance between graceful movements and striking fashion!

It really makes you think about the connection between dance and fashion, a connection that I find so incredibly thrilling, inspiring me to bring my own unique brand of pink tutu flair to both planets and intergalactic spaces!

The next morning, inspired and motivated to continue spreading my pink tutu message, I took a delightful stroll down Carnaby Street, London, known for its vibrant energy, creative fashion scene and the latest fashion trends. As I twirled through the busy crowds, I did manage to avoid any minor collision with fellow Londoners (it's surprisingly difficult to gracefully pirouette past an electric scooter on a busy sidewalk!). Of course, it was also a fantastic opportunity to show off my gorgeous pink tulle skirt, the fabric swirling gracefully as I weaved in and out of the crowds. The people around me, all beautifully diverse and fashionably trendy in their own unique styles, were in awe. And let’s not forget the charming street performances! Some excellent dancers in bold costumes! Just brilliant! A feast for the eyes! As I made my way into some of the fashion stores, the latest trends are very inspiring. My dear reader, I think there’s a new line of tutus coming very soon. I will let you all in on a little secret; I have been thinking about creating my very own pink tutu clothing line, but it's still early days.

I have so many fun plans for you guys! My next big adventure? I’ll be visiting one of the world's most amazing cities - Paris! It’s simply impossible not to be smitten by this city, so charming, elegant and full of history. I know just the Parisian pink tutu that’ll match that charming, whimsical air that Paris is so well-known for. The Eifel Tower awaits! I can’t wait to share my adventures with you guys!

However, if you can’t wait till next Wednesday’s post, then pop on over to my blog on the www.pink-tutu.com website for an exclusive preview.

I hope this post finds you twirling with happiness. I'm so grateful for all your love and support. Remember, never be afraid to embrace your own unique style, and wear your tutus with confidence, ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen! Until next Wednesday, keep your eyes on the stars, my darling tutu lovers!

Your favourite space ballerina, Emma xx
