Hello my lovelies!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! This week, I'm back on good old Planet Earth, which as you all know, is my favourite place in the entire universe for tutu shopping! But before I get to that, let's rewind a bit.
You see, last week was a whirlwind. I was doing a guest performance for a new ballet school on the third moon of Neptune. Honestly, the children were wonderful! But my travelling outfit got completely drenched in that bizarre "water-but-not-really" substance they have there. Talk about a fashion disaster!
I was so exhausted after the performance (Neptune's gravity, darling! Honestly, it's just brutal on the hamstrings!), so the next morning I woke up to the beautiful sunrise over London and realised it was time to head back home to my lovely little village in Derbyshire.
As you can imagine, coming back from outer space always feels a little surreal. I can never quite figure out if it's just me, or if Earth is getting a little less real each time I go out and explore the stars! But I always know that after a busy tour of galactic proportions, coming home and sipping a cup of Earl Grey in my grandma's little tea shop makes my heart so happy.
Of course, being a fashion enthusiast, I needed a little wardrobe refresh after all those interstellar travels. Now, when I say "little", I don't mean just buying a new pair of sparkly ballet slippers. I went on a full-fledged Pink Tutu World shopping spree. The high street was practically pulsating with new arrivals, and my little heart nearly skipped a beat!
You know, it's funny how Earth fashion has changed over the past centuries, even since my last blog post. Tutus are always in style, naturally. But now, everything seems a bit more colourful and experimental, and I have to say, I'm loving the new styles! Especially that new crop of oversized tutu sweaters โ who knew pink could be so versatile?
But enough about fashion! (Although honestly, how can you ever get tired of talking about fashion? It's truly one of the wonders of the universe.)
Let's talk about ballet. My true passion!
You guys, I have just had the most wonderful experience - this little ballet company in Leicester is actually producing a whole performance based on the history of ballet! The first half of the performance is going to be traditional, classic choreography inspired by 16th-century court ballet โ you know, the original ball gowns, corsets and absolutely no tights (they literally just wore socks!). But then it all switches up for the second half, which features a whirlwind of modern choreography celebrating ballet from every century and country imaginable. Honestly, it's the perfect way to honour all the fantastic choreographers and dancers that have made this art form so special over the years.
My friend Sophie from the space station is an absolute dream to watch! Honestly, I just adore watching her move. And did I mention they have these spectacular, shimmering new tutus in a million different shades of pink?! My whole soul just lit up! It truly is going to be a fantastic show, and I have the very special pleasure of attending this Friday! I just know it will be divine and I can't wait to share photos on my blog next week!
Anyway, I hope this has been a fun, light and pink-filled update! Don't forget, new posts every Wednesday! You can follow my adventures, from shopping to ballet to interstellar travels on www.pink-tutu.com. See you all next week, and in the meantime, don't forget to wear your pink tutus!
Your eternally sparkly and glamorous,
Emma
