Pink Tutu World: Post #92 - Intergalactic Ballerina on Earth, 29th January, 1997

Oh, darlings! It's Emma here, back on Planet Earth and ready to tell you all about my latest adventure, landing back home in good old Derbyshire. You wouldn't believe the tutu-tastic things I've been up to since my last blog!

This week I've been channeling my inner space-age ballerina and have had an utterly fabulous time! You see, darling, I recently snagged tickets to the most divine ballet show at the Royal Opera House, and wouldn't you know it, the theme? Intergalactic! My Tutu-ometer went right off the charts.

Now, I don't need to tell you that I'm a sucker for a good story about dancers from other worlds. You already know that I've got a whole Pinterest board dedicated to alien tutus and spaceship sequins!

So, imagine my utter delight when the curtain opened to reveal the most incredible choreography you could ever dream of. It was like Swan Lake on steroids with a healthy sprinkle of stardust, just fabulous.

And talking of stardust, it was actually at this fabulous ballet performance that I realised I absolutely must go to space, soon!

I know, I know, some of you are probably saying, "Emma! That's utterly crazy! It's just a silly little ballet!" But I disagree, darlings, this performance just screamed intergalactic exploration, and it totally ignited my imagination, giving me the ultimate "sparkle".

After all, as you know, the universe is the ultimate canvas. It's vast and endless, offering infinite possibilities, much like a tutu, really! You can do whatever you want with a tutu and that same creative energy translates to the way I feel about space.

Ballet Inspiration from Outer Space

And this ballet wasn't just visually stunning, the story was quite extraordinary too. It was the story of an alien ballerina who crash-lands on Planet Earth after an accident during an intergalactic dance tour! She's been looking for her own lost ballet shoes in space since then, travelling through the cosmos trying to get her footwork back in shape. And who could blame her?

She had this gorgeous pink and lilac cosmic tutu that matched the space backdrop, just beautiful! The ballet took her through some epic performances across the universe - swirling around Saturn's rings, a graceful leap past Pluto and then... she meets a local earth-bound ballerina from my very own Derbyshire who, surprisingly, is just as obsessed with pink tutus as I am! I don't think anyone else in the universe knows about our love of tutus and the power they hold. We must have had a cosmic connection.

The story was utterly charming and quite magical, darling. I honestly think they could even make it into a ballet movie. They definitely had me weeping at the end!

Anyway, all of this led me to a most magical realisation... it's my duty to spread my love of pink tutus, across the vast universe, no matter what it takes. After all, a pink tutu can transform you into anything. I was convinced of it, I even started jotting down some notes during the intermission of my ballet for my travel plans!

And what did the audience wear for this cosmic event? Well, it was just so brilliant. There was everything, from shimmering sequined gowns to stylishly sleek space-age suits! There were so many beautiful outfits, it would take hours to list them all - and no shortage of bold colours either, even a few shimmering pink tutus dotted here and there!

As I tell you darling, I was even caught with a big grin on my face, feeling inspired to whip out my own cosmic sequined leotard. And that’s when my thoughts took me on another wonderful space voyage. I would absolutely love to see performances at different points of the universe, imagine! Imagine seeing a beautiful ballet performed on the moon!

That’s exactly what I'll be doing soon, starting with a lovely trip to Jupiter, and then off to Venus. Why not, eh?

Getting my space boots ready

So, in case you were wondering, dear readers, yes! That's right! My next travel plans involve a mission to space - by spaceship of course!

It might sound utterly wild, darling, but my plans are very concrete. First of all, I need to prepare my tutu for space travel.

Yes, a little bit of cosmic prepping is required. Think metallic threads, a splash of iridescent fabric, even some glitter. I have all my best sequined tutu-tops ready.

Let's face it, the universe isn’t known for its dullness, darlings, so I just had to find some seriously cosmic colours. My space tutu will feature the most glorious shades of blue, lavender and even a sprinkle of holographic gold to boot.

As for getting there, let's just say, with my dance experience, this isn't rocket science. But in case you're curious, the answer is yes - it will be on a real space-age rocket! It's absolutely top secret though, but just imagine, a pink-tutu-wearing ballerina on a rocket, hurtling across the vast galaxy! The sheer brilliance of it, is just too amazing to comprehend.

Speaking of intergalactic journeys, darling, what an amazing week for fashion history! On this date, in 1997, one of the biggest trends to hit Earth happened - and believe it or not, I am talking about none other than… pink. Think hot pink dresses, sparkling pink shoes, even pink lip gloss! It was truly an era for this beautiful colour. If I had been back on earth then, I would have looked nothing short of divine!

My Plans for Intergalactic Tutu-mania

Now that I've got the space fashion and rocket launch details all set for my voyage, it’s time for the truly fun bit…

I need your help! As we’ve established, darling, I have a rather grand mission for this voyage.

I need to inspire everyone in the galaxy to put on a pink tutu. It's my ultimate goal, spreading the pink tutu message across the stars and sharing its joy. I know it might sound quite a challenge, but who wouldn’t want to be the prettiest ballerina on the moon, or even better on Mars? And what better way to create the ultimate dance-themed fashion show than with a little intergalactic glamour!

If I could share a little fashion wisdom, it's to simply follow your heart and never be afraid to put your own personal sparkle out there, especially when it comes to tutus, darling.

Think about it: Imagine a galaxy full of dazzling pink tutus! How fun!

Of course, this project will involve a whole lot of dance rehearsals, especially in space. I imagine myself dancing under nebulas in the cosmic expanse. But you know me, darling, no challenge is too big for this ballerina!

In fact, my travel plan actually starts in Derbyshire at a wonderful local ballet school, you see. There are all these lovely little budding dancers here. I am really quite smitten. And the beauty of Derbyshire’s countryside is very uplifting, it reminds me of how lucky I am to be part of planet earth.

And the great thing about the space project is that I'm actually starting at the very beginning. I'll be helping local ballet classes here in Derbyshire prepare to do a really cool little space themed performance in the Derbyshire Dales next month. So excited. It's the perfect start to my mission to share my love for the ballet and, of course, pink tutus.

And then we are all off to space. I hope you will all follow my journey, darling! I'm going to make this happen.

Let me know what you think in the comments below. And remember to check back for the latest pink tutu updates, coming right here, on my blog!

Until next time!

Love, Emma
