Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #125! 💖🌎✨

Hey, tutu darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite intergalactic ballerina, reporting live from Planet Earth - yes, the very same place you all are reading this from!

As I sit here, my feet tucked up under my (obviously) pink tutu, and the scent of fresh-baked Victoria sponge cake filling the air (don't tell me you haven't got a sweet tooth too!), I'm just bursting with excitement to share with you my adventures from this past week.

First of all, a massive, glittery thank you to all of you who came to my last ballet performance in the shimmering city of Tokyo! Your cheers were enough to make even the most jaded spaceship captain shed a tear, and the flower bouquets were absolutely divine (my new favourite shade of pink, it is!). And, of course, all the amazing feedback about my choreography – pure magic, you all said! I can't tell you how much that means to me. As a passionate dancer, performer, and tutu enthusiast, I pour my heart and soul into every step, every pirouette, every dramatic pose!

Speaking of which, did you catch me in my new "Starlight Serenade" tutu during that performance? Yes, the one with the cascading silver stars and the twinkling sequins that literally caught the spotlight like, well, stars? You'll have to trust me on this, because pictures don't even do it justice. 😉

Anyway, with the dust settling on my Tokyo escapade, I’m back on Planet Earth to share another week of stellar happenings. And let me tell you, this week was a whirlwind! My dear friend and fellow ballet-obsessed intergalactic traveller, Esmeralda (she loves lavender, tutus, and wearing lots of sparkles), landed her ship in good old Derbyshire. (Remember Derbyshire? That’s where I’m originally from, the land of rolling hills, quaint villages, and… you guessed it… tutu shops galore! ) It’s safe to say that it was absolute heaven!

Oh, you know, it’s just SO nice to be home on Planet Earth! It feels wonderful to step into my local shop (the name is “Ballet Bliss”) and find the perfect new, glittery pair of ballet shoes! Even if they did make my feet a tad sore, those satin pink slippers were worth every ounce of pain. And, to top it off, Esmeralda surprised me with a hand-made, oh-so-fabulous, hot-pink, polka-dot tutu… and not just any tutu, this one had silver sequins that whispered “Pink Tutu World” as you twirled!

It was just perfect for our afternoon tea in a cute little cafe called "The Ballerina's Tearoom." It served delicate pastries shaped like pointe shoes (no joke, seriously, those pastries were divine!), and hot tea in beautiful porcelain cups with tutu-themed designs! My dear, the atmosphere was magical. Oh, and Esmeralda and I were matching in our pink tutus! Now, wouldn't that make a picture postcard? 🥰

Speaking of magical things, can you believe what day it was yesterday? September 17th, 1997! Yes, folks, the anniversary of that iconic fashion moment: Princess Diana's very last official visit to the theatre in a gorgeous (and rather large!) tulle pink skirt. Such a legendary, iconic, fabulous moment for tulle and pink lovers like us! Diana, your style legacy lives on forever! 💗

Of course, as with every new journey on Planet Earth, there are always new fashion finds, captivating experiences, and delightful adventures around every corner!

So, I must share my discovery of the latest ballet collection at the London department store Harrods! Oh, my darlings, the clothes, the accessories, the exquisite ballerinas, the perfectly pink, feather-light tulle… everything was a symphony of dance and fashion! And my spaceship, let me tell you, is almost overflowing with new treasures. Did I tell you about the pearl-encrusted, sequined ballet flats I purchased? Absolutely divine, I say! ✨

But enough about me, you've got to tell me what's going on in your own little corners of the universe! What kind of tutu magic are you up to this week? Are you hitting the local ballet classes? Are you catching a fabulous theatre show? Tell me all about it! I'm always looking for inspiration for my next blog post and, let’s be honest, you all have some pretty fabulous stories to share. Don’t be shy! 😉

But don’t you dare think for a second I've stopped thinking about how to make my little dream a reality: A pink tutu for everyone! Every alien, every sentient being, every planet – everyone sporting a perfectly pink tutu! (Remember to pick the right colour of pink, it’s very important! I’d suggest finding the shade that best suits your skin tone.)

My grand mission: to share the joy, the creativity, and the absolute beauty of ballet with everyone in the universe! So, here's to new adventures, fabulous fashion finds, and keeping our hearts, and our pink tutus, ever twirling.

Until next week, my darlings! ✨

Lots of love,

Emma

PS: Don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for my new blog post. And don't forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok – because who doesn't love a good twirling video? 😄

A little something extra...

I’m so excited about the new season at the Royal Opera House here in London. The lineup this year is absolutely divine, from Swan Lake to Giselle, it’s a dream come true! And if you're in the neighbourhood, my dear friends, don't forget to pay a visit to the ballet-themed cafe, "The Sugarplum Fairy", tucked away in a cobbled alley off Covent Garden. Just imagine: hot chocolate, scones, and watching a ballet class outside - I am already dreaming of it!

You know what, you just can’t get enough of ballet.

And what would a ballet enthusiast be without their favourite tutus? This season, the focus for me will be on twirling the traditional. Yes, my loves, think velvet and sequins, delicate ruffles and feather trims, and, oh, how can I forget, plenty of beautiful pink tulle! My closet is overflowing! 😄

It seems the fashion trends this autumn are calling out for "drama". And you know I love to make a statement! I have my eye on a beautiful sequined dress that’s a sort of champagne gold that perfectly complements my new blush-pink, feather-trimmed tutu, I plan to pair it with some glamorous metallic pumps for a look that screams “drama” without sacrificing the grace of a ballerina.

Now, I know what you're thinking - it's getting cooler now, how can you still wear a tutu? It’s so easy. Just layer! Throw on a long, velvet coat, add a cosy shawl or cardigan and your fabulous tutu underneath - bam - perfect fall fashion for a ballet-obsessed gal! I like to think it’s like wearing a “Tutu in disguise”!

I simply love all things about this magnificent art form - from the tutus and the music, to the costumes and the performance. My world revolves around ballet! And who would've thought it, it even shapes my wardrobe choices.

This week, my mission is to unearth new trends for your wardrobes, too. Oh, how I love helping you with this. Let’s make Planet Earth a haven for all things sparkly and tulle-tastic.

What's your favourite style in this beautiful, glitzy world of ballet? Tell me all about it.

Oh, I almost forgot - one more thing...

Are you aware of the fantastic tutu archive in St Petersburg? Just imagine - tutus, and only tutus, as far as the eye can see! I’ll be heading there very soon. You've gotta stay tuned for my blog on this amazing archive. 💖

Catch you next week, lovelies!

Emma
