Hello my darlings!
Welcome back to my little corner of the universe, where pink tutus and space adventures intertwine! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another blog post from your favourite ballerina-turned-cosmic-explorer. Today I'm back on Planet Earth after a whirlwind trip to Alpha Centauri, and I'm bursting to share all the celestial fashion delights I encountered.
First things first, I have to tell you about the amazing ballet performance I gave in Alpha Centauri! The audience was simply divine, a glittering array of extraterrestrial beings sporting the most fabulous ensembles. It was like something out of a sci-fi movie - think metallic shimmer, holographic textures, and the occasional shimmering alien appendage.
I performed my signature piece, āA Waltz Among the Starsā, in a dazzling new tutu I specially designed for the occasion. It was a vibrant, otherworldly pink with iridescent sequins and twinkling LED lights. It twirled magnificently, sending shimmers of starlight through the concert hall. Naturally, everyone was enchanted!
After the performance, I had the most wonderful time exploring Alpha Centauri's vibrant fashion scene. There were shops selling space-age gowns adorned with constellations, boutiques featuring iridescent nebula-inspired garments, and even a market brimming with shimmering interstellar jewellery. I scooped up some amazing new accessories to add to my own collection - I can't wait to show you all!
But you know me, I always get drawn back to Earth eventually. I find there's nothing quite like a good old-fashioned ballet performance in a traditional theatre. And speaking of theatres, the London Palladium is hosting a revival of "Swan Lake" this week.
Can you imagine a more beautiful ballet? Tchaikovsky's music is exquisite, and the tale of love, sacrifice, and transformation is just so poignant. I adore watching ballerinas execute the graceful steps and challenging turns, particularly the swan sequence - a truly magical experience.
Of course, my ballet wardrobe is looking absolutely exquisite this season! I just couldnāt resist buying a stunning new ivory tutu for the performance, its layers cascading gracefully like snowflakes. I even found the perfect pink feather boa to accessorize it with! You see, dear readers, every little detail matters.
And speaking of details, have you seen the amazing collection of pink tutus popping up around town? From pastel pink tulle to vibrant hot pink satins, it's a wonderful sight to see! We truly are experiencing a golden age of tutu-wear.
As I always say, tutus are for everyone, regardless of their species or home planet! Let's keep spreading the joy of pink and twirling!
But enough about fashion! Letās talk about the delightful festivities here on Earth this week. The most spectacular event Iām eagerly awaiting is, of course, the grand opening of the new Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition - "Dancing Through Time".
This extraordinary exhibition explores the rich history of ballet from its ancient roots to modern-day interpretations, Itās going to be a dazzling spectacle! I canāt wait to admire the exquisite costumes, the intricate stage sets, and the historical documentation.
However, with all the dancing, I find it essential to prioritize relaxation. There's nothing better than a luxurious afternoon spent browsing the aisles of Selfridges, searching for those unique pink-themed accessories that every pink tutu-wearing gal needs.
Remember, dear readers, fashion is not just about clothes. Itās about expressing your individuality, your sense of fun, and your love of all things beautiful. Itās about embracing the little details that bring joy to every day.
So, what have you been up to this week? Tell me about your favourite ballet performances, your most exciting shopping trips, and any pink tutu encounters youāve had.
Until next Wednesday,
Emma

Pink Tutu World: Intergalactic Ballet Adventures - Episode 159 - Planet Earth - 13th May, 1998
Dearest readers,
This week Iāve been a little obsessed with everything sparkly! I suppose it started after that divine performance in Alpha Centauri, with all those shimmery, alien outfits. But you know, sparkle is a universal language.
Speaking of sparkle, I had a fantastic time at the Victoria and Albert Museum last weekend, for the opening of the āDancing Through Timeā exhibition! Oh my dear readers, it was absolutely fabulous! The costumes on display were a feast for the eyes. From exquisitely embellished tutus to decadent historical ensembles, it was a true testament to the enduring beauty of ballet costumes.
You wonāt believe this, but I stumbled across a stunning 18th century ballet costume. It was made of white silk and lavishly decorated with silver thread embroidery and intricate ribbons. Oh, I would love to twirl in a creation like that! I canāt tell you how jealous I felt. Although, on a brighter note, the exhibit made me realize that pink tutus are truly timeless. The history of ballet, including the history of tutus, is deeply fascinating!
After the museum visit, I headed straight for my favourite dressmaker. I knew just what I needed! A stunning pink satin ball gown adorned with sparkly embroidery! The gown would be perfect for the gala opening of a new dance studio, The Pointe Shoes Dance Academy, this week! It's run by a lovely ballerina named Amelia, whom I met during a recent masterclass in London.
The opening is going to be truly magical. Weāre talking glittering champagne, scrumptious finger sandwiches, and of course, an incredible ballet performance showcasing Amelia's young students. And what would a grand opening be without an enchanting fashion show, featuring designs from local talent, naturally with a sprinkle of pink tutus thrown in!
The thought of young ballerinas twirling around in the most delightful tutus gets my heart fluttering with joy. I mean, can anything be more beautiful than watching graceful dancers embrace the artistry of ballet?
On that note, speaking of dancing, did I tell you I went to see āGiselleā at The Royal Opera House? This classic ballet never fails to captivate me. Itās a haunting tale of love, betrayal, and the supernatural. And the music! You really do need to see this ballet!
But even more delightful than āGiselleā was a truly spectacular exhibition at the Natural History Museum, all about the evolution of butterflies! They were truly dazzling, their delicate wings painted with intricate patterns. Their kaleidoscopic beauty felt utterly mesmerizing, especially the vibrant pink and orange hues! I think it's a testament to the wonder of nature, a truly captivating display of color and design.
Oh! It has given me an idea for my next tutu design. Imagine, a tutu inspired by the enchanting butterfly wings, featuring shimmering, jewel-tone patterns with accents of sparkling pink! Just wait and see. The fashion world isnāt ready for my cosmic-butterfly creation!
Iām off to Derby for a special event at my local theatre. Iāll be mentoring young dancers from the local ballet school. There's a big competition at the end of the month and the students are feeling nervous, so Iām there to inspire them! Remember dear readers, a positive outlook and a sprinkling of confidence can work wonders on your pointe work! Itās really a very satisfying thing to share your knowledge and experience, to help those dancers soar!
But enough about me and my dance projects. What's going on in your world? Are you rocking a pink tutu anywhere you go? Have you seen any mesmerizing ballet performances lately?
Let me know what's making you twirl this week!

Pink Tutu World: Intergalactic Ballet Adventures - Episode 160 - Planet Earth - 20th May, 1998
Hello again, darlings!
How's this for a little tidbit? I had the most amazing time in Derbyshire this past week! I got to be a part of the young dancer's performance competition at my local theatre. What an absolute treat!
And did I mention they were a fantastic bunch? All full of sparkle, talent, and ambition, not to mention they had the cutest tutus in pink, lavender, and the most divine coral shade! I have to say, they definitely made me nostalgic for my own early days of ballet training. We laughed together, we cried together, but mostly, we had a grand old time.
One of my greatest passions is encouraging the next generation of dancers. To be honest, nothing gives me greater joy than watching talented young people express their passion and artistry. Ballet is so much more than a dance. Itās an art form that combines movement, music, and expression, allowing young people to express themselves on a physical and emotional level.
But after all that dance-tastic excitement, I was back in London for an event that was totally off the charts - The British Ballet Gala at the Royal Albert Hall! It's one of my favourite events each year. You know itās truly amazing when they have dancers from every corner of the world participating. And did I mention all those stunning outfits! The most extravagant tutus I have seen in years, so very, very divine.
Imagine my delight when they dedicated a segment to the most stunning pink tutus throughout the history of ballet! There was everything, from the ethereal designs of the Romantic era, to the modern, contemporary looks of today. And did they just bring out the original tutu designed by Marie Taglioni for the legendary "La Sylphide"! If you think seeing it in photos is inspiring, itās just so much more stunning to see it in person! I just have to design a modern interpretation. My mission to spread the love for pink tutus must include recreating this masterpiece.
My, my! All this dancing is making me feel a little peckish! But where do you even begin to look for the perfect lunch spot in London?
Well, naturally I headed to my absolute favourite little Italian bistro on St. Jamesā Street. Itās called āLāAmorosoā and is renowned for their pink gnocchi! It's my go-to for a bit of indulgence, so divine! I absolutely love this spot and it has become my haven during this visit to Earth. After all, I do have to remind myself of the little earthly luxuries now and again.
Then, I did something absolutely scandalous, something I know most ballerinas would disapprove of - I went shopping in Harrods for the most extravagant pair of shoes ever designed - hot pink Manolo Blahniks, a gift to myself after a long month of performances. Don't judge me, my readers! I know a true dancer deserves some indulgence now and then!
Did I tell you my friends and I had an absolute ball at The Fashion Awards on Saturday? Itās always so much fun, watching those legendary fashion designers showcase their stunning creations! And what a spectacle they create! So glamorous!
Youāll never guess, darling! It seems as if pink is the new black, or should I say, the new shimmer? Everywhere you look, people are donning the most divine shades of pink! Itās a fantastic time to be rocking the pink look.
And thatās about it from me this week. I'm feeling wonderfully inspired to write, to dance, and to design even more sparkly pink tutus. It's true, what you do is more important than what you wear, but what we wear makes all the difference.
Have a great week and remember: pink tutus are for everyone!
Until next time,
Emma
