Hey loves! š©°š«
It's your girl Emma, back from a whirlwind trip across the cosmos! I can hardly believe it's been a whole week since I last graced you with my presence, but hey, what can I say? The universe is a busy place, especially for a tutu-clad ballerina on a mission!
This week I landed on⦠drumroll⦠Planet Earth! It was a real trip down memory lane, let me tell you. This lovely little rock has a special place in my heart, because⦠well, this is where I came from! Yep, before my interstellar ballet career, I was a Derbyshire lass.
It was great to see my mum and dad, even if their surprise expression was slightly less than thrilled when they saw me float down in the pink spaceship with my sequined wings, but hey, you've got to try something different, right? I thought it would be a hoot to show them some of my newly choreographed interstellar twirls and, let's be honest, have a chinwag about everything that had gone on in my absence. And boy did they have news for me!
It turned out the old place had moved on a bit! They had Wi-Fi, for a start, and I found this brilliant website ā www.pink-tutu.com, an online platform where I can chat with you all about my travels and get your feedback. Who knew the internet could reach even these little outposts on the fringe of the galaxy!
The Stars and Stripes Ballet
Now, if you havenāt had a chance to travel through the cosmos, let me tell you, Earth is quite something. It's so wonderfully vibrant, filled with exciting places and a huge population! One of the most exhilarating parts of my journey was going to see a Stars and Stripes Ballet performance in the heart of this place called New York City.
You wouldnāt believe it! It was like stepping straight out of one of my favourite stories, The Nutcracker! Imagine hundreds of swirling, whirling ballerinas all in vibrant costumes inspired by the national colours, reds, whites, and blues, and dancing under a huge glitterball! There were such beautiful costumes, such spectacular formations ā even if the performance had a little less "Tchaikovsky" and a bit more bam, bang, wham ā and not much en pointe. Iāll take it!
But the whole thing was just breathtaking, a kaleidoscope of colours and movements, leaving me breathless, speechless, and dreaming in a delicious pink tutu fog! I have to admit, the little part of me that still longs for a slice of Derbyshire cake, felt quite proud to be from planet earth.
The Spirit of Ballet Everywhere
After my grand ballet evening, I had some time to āearthifyā myself, I have to say shopping here in the Big Apple is pretty amazing! But even though the planets were aligning with fabulous new tulle purchases and feather boa hats, there is something so fascinating about Earth's connection with ballet, you guys! It's like their whole culture seems built on this concept of elegance and beauty, even down to the architecture! I've learned there are even streets dedicated to dancing! The iconic Broadway is full of dancers and theatres dedicated to all forms of performance ā ballet, musical, you name it! You could easily get lost in a whole world of colour, costumes, and creativity with just a few steps from your hotel. The passion, the energy ā it's all a little too much to comprehend! I feel like my own mission ā to spread the gospel of pink tutus, one planet at a time ā is somehow easier on Earth than most places.
It felt good to finally visit a place that actually got the ballet spirit. It didnāt seem like just a dance, it felt like a way of life!
New Tutu Style?
Speaking of the tutu spirit, I've already been trying to bring some "intergalactic chic" to Earth's fashion scene. And the folks here seem pretty open to a new look! You shouldāve seen me walking through the city! I wore my latest galactic tutu creation, this celestial blue satin tutu with sequins that change colour when you walk under a streetlamp! The fabric flowed in the air with my pirouettes, as sparkly clouds, nebulae and galaxies flashed out in different lights (just in case people didn't notice my 10-foot-wide tutu!).
Well, you wouldn't believe the looks I got! Mostly curious and even excited glances! Who would have thought my interstellar tutu would be so well-received in the streets of Earth? And who wouldāve thought my biggest fan was an adorable toddler? She was waving to me from her pram as I passed with my mum, screaming, āTutu! Tutu!ā with glee in her little voice.
This mission to Earth felt different ā like I was somehow "coming home" in a way. My next trip is back to Mars, but I have to say ā after this visit, Earth is definitely getting added to my tour route!
*See you next Wednesday loves, and remember to keep dreaming big! *
