Greetings, darlings! It's Emma, your intergalactic ballerina blogger, back from another whirlwind trip around the cosmos! This week's adventure took me to none other than… Planet Earth! Yes, the very planet where I hail from, my lovely home in Derbyshire, England.
As much as I adore jet-setting around the universe, sometimes a girl just needs a little bit of home-grown magic, wouldn't you agree? I landed on October 14th, 1998, and let me tell you, this date held a truly special treat in store!
Before we delve into the wonderful wonders of Planet Earth, let's take a quick moment to appreciate the sheer awesomeness of my current ensemble. My pinkest pink tutu (obviously!) - this one's a triple-layered tulle dream with a little extra sparkle courtesy of some hand-stitched pink gems. Paired with a crisp white ballet top, pink sparkly flats, and my signature fluffy pink headband, I felt like a ballerina princess from a fairytale! I know, I know, you all think I go overboard with the pink… but isn’t that what Pink Tutu World is all about? 😉
Anyway, back to Earth! This planet is quite remarkable, you know. The trees! The flowers! And, dare I say, some absolutely smashing fashion! After landing at a most curious place called Heathrow (which reminded me vaguely of the spaceport at a very dusty asteroid called Q3204), I had a fabulous time exploring London, a truly vibrant city brimming with culture.
Fashion Finds & Stellar EntertainmentThe very first thing I did was indulge in a shopping spree at Harrods! Oh my, darling, it was a total dreamland. Rows upon rows of incredible designers, sparkly shoes galore, and just the perfect amount of luxurious velvet to satisfy my inner diva. And you know what I picked up? A divine vintage silk scarf in the most fabulous shade of rose pink. Isn't it simply darling? (Pictured here, right beside my cup of chamomile tea, of course!).
Speaking of divas, the main attraction of this trip had to be the magnificent performance I witnessed at the Royal Opera House. A legendary piece, Swan Lake, performed by the English National Ballet. Oh, darling! I was absolutely captivated. The swans! The princes! The sheer grace of it all! (Honestly, it’s got nothing on my own graceful ballet skills – but it was lovely anyway.) And can we talk about the costumes?! Stunning, all white and feathered. Just perfect for swanning around, wouldn’t you say? But of course, nothing compares to a real pink tutu! I did catch the attention of a few audience members as I took to the aisle after the curtain call (simply to give a well-deserved, well-practised round of applause!), donning my pink tutu. I can just imagine what the other ladies on earth are thinking, and frankly, the world could do with a dash more colour, I know my bright pink stands out like a flamingo at a funeral – but isn't it just fabulous! It definitely lifted their spirits. Why would we wear boring earth tones when we could be bursting with sunshine colours, huh? And everyone would be much more fabulous with a tutu on their hips!
Earthly Adventures and Delicious DiscoveriesLondon was bursting with history too, and I must say I enjoyed a little trip down memory lane. I visited the iconic Buckingham Palace – such history in those walls, and that most extraordinary palace garden, with so many beautiful flowers to compliment my pinkness. After taking a few selfies in front of the gates, I popped by the Tower of London. It was an extraordinary experience, filled with spooky tales and incredible architecture. Although I admit, it would’ve been much more enjoyable with a spot of ballet - perhaps I should take my travelling pink tutu there, the next time I am in London! Think how great it would be for my tutu to twirl through all the old stones.
But let’s not forget the culinary delights that Planet Earth offers. I mean, afternoon tea! How can one resist dainty finger sandwiches and a selection of delicate pastries? And let’s not forget the exquisite Earl Grey, served with a delicate sprig of lavender. So perfect with my pastel pink high tea outfit (matching pastel pink flower hat, of course!). What more could a girl ask for?
A Farewell from Pink Tutu WorldWell, darling, my time on Earth has come to an end. This has been a truly wonderful week. London was so glamorous and it reminded me what a delight the Earth truly is! But alas, the stars are calling me back to my own little world in the cosmos. I have my own intergalactic pink tutu show coming up (did I mention the tickets are almost sold out?). I am certain I will learn so much, be it from Earth’s diverse fashion and culture, or by the other planets out there in space – there is still so much of this beautiful universe for me to explore.
Remember, darlings, always wear pink. And always remember: the universe is a fabulous place filled with endless possibilities. So go forth and twirl, because in the grand scheme of things, darling, a girl can never be too pink!
Until next week, XOXO
Emma
