Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #229

Wednesday, 15th September 1999

Helloooo my darlings!

It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means! Another fabulous blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing intergalactic traveller - yours truly, Emma! I'm writing to you from a most fabulous space station, orbiting the delightful blue planet we call Earth. I landed here last night after a truly delightful voyage from, oh, where was it...? Neptune, I think? It all blurs after a while, but who's counting planets when you're dressed in this amazing coral pink tutu that makes me feel like a literal goddess?

Anyway, the reason I landed back on dear old Earth is the annual 'September Skies' ballet extravaganza, happening tonight! It's a celebration of celestial ballet - think ballets inspired by planets, stars, constellations... the works! It's always a visual feast for the eyes, especially this year's rendition, set to music by a delightful alien band from Andromeda who create the most cosmically beautiful tunes, using, I kid you not, vibrating asteroids as their instruments!

Speaking of fashion, you simply must see the tutus that the ballerinas are wearing. Every single one a masterpiece! I even caught a glimpse of the costume designer (she's actually a Martian with the most wonderful teal hair) - they tell me she got her inspiration from the tailfins of the celestial mermaids on the ocean-like moon of Ganymede!

This September Skies ballet festival is definitely the highlight of the year in the balletic world. If you are anything like me, you've already got your tickets ready to go - let's just say mine are strategically positioned within my spaceship and they're made from a rather delightful sparkly constellation print!

As a ballet aficionado, I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting it is for me to be back on Earth to witness this grand event. We all have to go and support the arts, even when it takes us off-planet! Did I mention the ballet theatre itself? Oh my word, it's literally carved out of a meteor, with shimmering stardust as flooring. If you weren't in your own pink tutu after seeing this you'd need to have your eyes checked!

Speaking of tutus, I just have to show you the amazing new one I snagged earlier at the intergalactic clothing market that pops up near here! It’s called “The Andromeda Nebula,” and it's this dazzling blend of lavender and deep purple sequins. It even shimmers in the dark with these cool holographic stars woven in - honestly, I couldn’t resist!

I always get super excited about fashion while on Earth - this planet has got it going on when it comes to clothes. They even have a great pink tutu market near Covent Garden in London where you can find some vintage tutus in every colour under the rainbow! My absolute favourite pink tutu shop in the universe? Why, it has to be 'Pink Tutu Paradise' in Derbyshire, England - my home turf, my darlings! The owners are just as lovely as their creations, which is saying something, since their pink tutus are simply sublime!

I’ve actually been considering creating my own tutu collection! Imagine, the ‘Emma’s Intergalactic Tutu line’ - it could be the hottest thing since sliced bread in space! But shh, I'll keep it under wraps for now... who knows, it just might become a reality one day. Maybe I should consult with my tailor friend, he’s a Kree from the Andromeda galaxy and they are famous for their superfine shimmering silk.

Anyways, darling readers, before you go, tell me what's happening on your corner of the universe? Let's make sure everyone in this glorious, cosmic galaxy is rocking their best pink tutu! It's important for everyone to express their own personal style! Until next time, you lovely lot! Remember to spread some sparkle!

With much love,

Emma x
