Hello, my dearest tutu-loving readers! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, where the only thing more dazzling than a diamond is a perfectly pirouetting ballerina! It’s Wednesday, July 19th, 2000, and I’m so excited to be writing this post from planet Earth! Yes, Earth, the place where it all began!
Remember last week, when I teased about a surprise? Well, this is it, my lovelies! After a whirlwind tour of Andromeda Galaxy (a bit too much glittery black holes, frankly), I decided to come back to planet Earth for a spot of sunshine, theatre, and, of course, a little retail therapy!
As you all know, there's a special place in my heart for Paris. It's the city that knows how to dance! This week I've been taking in all the iconic sights - the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, even the Louvre Museum (which, if you ask me, needed a good pink tutu to really make a statement)! But nothing beats seeing a dazzling performance at the Palais Garnier!
Tonight, my lovelies, we’re talking the Paris Opera Ballet! They really know how to deliver, you know, with the best ballerinas in the world gracing the stage! I had my very special tutu on – a fabulous one, my lovelies, in a shades-of-pink tulle, trimmed with little crystal-like beads – and as usual, I attracted some fabulous attention from those chic Parisians! It just makes sense to let my passion for dance express itself through every part of me, don't you agree?
Now, the performance? Absolutely phenomenal! They performed Giselle, a classical ballet that tells a beautiful and tragic tale of love, betrayal, and sacrifice. The music, the costumes, the choreography – it was like I was swept up in a whirlwind of emotions! A truly immersive experience. And then there’s the fact that Giselle, as you might know, was created in 1841 – a ballet that can still make you feel alive two centuries later. Now, that’s history!
And after the performance, ooh la la, it was time for shopping in the chic boutiques of the 8th arrondissement! Imagine it: me, browsing the beautiful Parisian department stores, finding my own little pink tutu treasures. Honestly, Parisian boutiques are like walking through a ballet scene in themselves!
Don't think I missed out on trying delicious macarons at Ladurée. That pink box! A ballet in itself. It’s almost too beautiful to eat, but trust me, it was delicious, a perfect blend of sweet and sugary! The delicate taste was almost… almost… as graceful as my twirling skills. Almost.
And as the Parisian sun set, casting long shadows over the city of lights, I realized I’d fallen back into love with this place. Paris always brings out the dancer in me, reminding me that there's no better way to move through life than with grace, elegance, and, of course, a little bit of pink tulle!
That’s it from my adventures on planet Earth this week, my dears! Now, my friends, as I always say, you don't need a spaceship or a tutu to travel the world. Just put on a tutu (even a sparkly pink one), put on a little dance and you’re dancing around the world in a swirl of pink and beautiful ballet!
Until next Wednesday!
Lots of love and pirouettes,
Emma
