Hello, my darling dears! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma, here, beaming from my perch on Planet Earth, and ready to share another whirlwind adventure with you all. I've been meaning to share this tale for weeks, but, you know me, sometimes life gets in the way of those grand plans, doesn't it? (Don't worry, I'll have you gasping in awe with a story of my trip to Neptune's Grand Opera House in just a moment...!).
But first, I just had to get you up to speed with my life here in good ol' Derbyshire. Did you know today, 8th November 2000, marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic, magical, simply breath-taking "La Sylphide" premiere in Covent Garden? Honestly, who can resist a ballet steeped in tradition and infused with captivating story and exquisite choreography? I can't imagine life without it. Just last weekend I popped into the beautiful Royal Opera House and got lost in a dreamy ballet performance that had me totally entranced. I have to say, seeing those elegant dancers perform with such grace, even though I'm familiar with the show, makes me feel truly giddy. It really does inspire me to do some more tutu-wearing and dancing of my own, though perhaps not quite in the same, er, refined fashion, lol.
And then, it was on to my beloved Derbyshire, which was hosting its annual Tutu Fashion Week, you simply wouldn't believe it! My favourite boutique was filled with some amazing creations from all the big tutu houses in Derbyshire. I was particularly fond of a sequined, double-layered tulle number with an absolutely spectacular pink rose nestled into the center. Absolutely perfect for a little tea party on Neptune! The shopkeeper, the sweetest little darling named Daphne, insisted I tried it on and gave me a discount when I purchased it. Bless her heart! Now it just needs some glitter, a touch of dazzle dust, and it'll be the perfect interstellar statement piece.
Oh! And I almost forgot to mention the delightful afternoon tea at "The Twirling Tulle" - an absolutely exquisite tearoom, which, of course, only serves tea in dainty tutu-shaped teacups! We all laughed and chatted about ballet shows, tutus, and life's little joys, and it just felt so quintessentially British and… well, wonderfully tutu-licious!
But speaking of travel... I have to share my recent intergalactic escapade with you. Did you know, the little green aliens on planet Zog really love their tutu dresses? Apparently, their annual "Twinkle Toes" competition is a sight to behold. I'll spare you the details about their strange green alien fashion choices, (it's a whole new ball game in space, let me tell you! But, suffice to say, they’re totally obsessed with all things shiny, so I felt rather at home, if you get me.) I found myself utterly captivated by their culture of wearing sparkly, billowing tutus, even to everyday market stalls and intergalactic grocery shopping. So, naturally, I whipped out my own favourite pink creation and let those dazzling tutus twirl with the best of them. Everyone was amazed by it, let me tell you, with my vibrant pink creation shimmering amidst the sea of emerald hues, they felt like I was a supernova in a universe of twinkling green stars! And can I just say, their alien ballet classes? My, my, talk about talent. You wouldn’t believe some of the moves those Zogans can pull off, it just had me hopping around with awe and exhilaration.
Of course, I had to do my own show for the locals, and, what a smashing success it was! You really couldn't help but sway and twirl to my performance. I, naturally, pulled out my famous routine to 'I Gotta Dance', you know the one, my heart and soul go into that performance each and every time. (If you’re lucky, I might share a recording with you all soon). The planet vibrated with a symphony of colours, twinkling lights and, of course, that pink sparkle, I brought with me. A beautiful blend of elegance and vibrancy in the Zogan world! Honestly, it just confirmed that pink tutus really are the ultimate universal language of beauty and joy. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
After a whirlwind tour of Zog, with it’s unique landscapes, a chance to take some fabulous outfit photos with alien fashion designers, a cheeky little pit stop to grab a Zogan "Zizzy Juice", a fruit cocktail so potent it could knock you over, I hopped aboard my spaceship for a return to my own beloved Planet Earth. And I'm not going to lie, there's just nothing like coming back home, and oh my goodness, what a trip. From the Zogans, I picked up this absolutely exquisite metallic pink tutu that shimmered under the starlights, it was simply gorgeous, and as you all know, I couldn’t resist purchasing it as a souvenir, and to add to my own stellar pink tutu collection.
I hope you enjoyed this peek into my most recent journey.
Oh, before I go, darling readers, do be sure to keep an eye out for a post from me soon detailing my adventure to Mars! They have an absolutely mind-boggling festival coming up, and you wouldn't believe the dazzling dance numbers! They’ve managed to create something special using an intriguing concoction of light beams and… I’m keeping that secret, it's going to be absolutely phenomenal, I promise you!
But in the meantime, be sure to hop over to my website www.pink-tutu.com. I upload a new post every Wednesday and this Wednesday’s post is a detailed rundown of my latest, absolutely show-stopping pink tutu finds! And who knows, I just might even include a picture or two of my Zogan-inspired tutu with it. 😉
Until next time, my darlings, stay happy, and stay tutu-licious! 💖
Emma x
PS. I’m planning a grand ballet recital at The Royal Opera House, later this year to raise funds for my spaceship, to see who wants to sponsor my trip to Venus to visit the famed Ballet-on-the-Moon event. Just thought I’d give you all a little heads up! 💖
