Hello my darling darlings!
It's Emma here, back from another whirlwind intergalactic trip! I know, I know, you're all thinking, "Emma, when will you stop?!" Well, the answer is never darling. My cosmic ballet shoes are just itching for another adventure.
This week, I landed back on good ol' Planet Earth, specifically in my beloved hometown of Derbyshire, England. Oh, how I missed the rolling hills and the quaint tea shops. And the quaint little ballet schools of course! The moment I arrived, I headed straight to the local library and buried my face in a dusty old book on the history of ballet in the 19th century. I absolutely adore learning about the history of my passion, especially the stories about all the beautiful tutus and the dazzling dancers of that era. Just reading about their lavish, silk and tulle creations fills me with a million ideas for my own next pink-tastic tutu collection!
Now, before you start thinking I'm all work and no play, let me tell you, I did indulge in a bit of shopping! Who can resist a trip to the theatre district when they're back in London, darling? You could say I'm absolutely delighted with the array of dazzling new clothes I picked up. I already have plans to debut my new sequined dress at next week's ballet class. A girl has to have a new outfit for every occasion, don't you think?
Speaking of ballet class, I did make sure to squeeze in a little twirl at the esteemed Royal Academy of Dance this week. Oh my word, those girls are talented. They made me so happy that I ended up teaching them a little bit about the importance of finding your own pink tutu power. The way I see it, darling, you don't have to be a ballerina to find strength and grace. It's about having the confidence to wear pink and express yourself!
Did you know 5th June is the anniversary of a very important moment in ballet history? This is the day, in 1927, that the renowned Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova premiered her stunning ballet, “The Dying Swan.” What a graceful and powerful ballet it was. Sadly, the performance was only broadcast in cinemas as the world wasn’t yet ready for the full spectacle of her majestic performance. It was later filmed and is one of my all-time favourites! It's truly an inspiration to us all. Even I get a bit misty-eyed thinking about her beautiful performance!
Speaking of spectacle, you have to see the show that I just had to catch last night. The London Coliseum was the place to be, darling! The show was a kaleidoscope of colourful lights, a symphony of music and dance, and I absolutely loved every moment! There's a reason this show is one of the hottest tickets in town, let me tell you!
This is just a tiny glimpse into my whirlwind week here on Planet Earth. As usual, it’s been a packed few days, but what's a ballet blogger to do, darling? There's a whole world out there to see, explore, and dance in! And speaking of dance, next week I'm off to…wait for it… drumroll please... the magnificent Moon! I can't wait to show the moon people the true meaning of "Pink Tutu World". They're going to have a real surprise, especially as it's lunar eclipse next week!
Now I want to know your biggest ballet dreams and pink tutu ambitions. Share them with me in the comments below!
And don't forget to keep visiting www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for my next adventure!
**XOXO,
Emma**
