Hello, my dearest fellow tutu enthusiasts! It's Wednesday, the day we all know and love (it's the day I post my blog, obvs!), and that means it's time for another interstellar adventure with your favourite pink tutu-clad spacefarer, Emma!
Today, 10th July 2002, I'm back on planet Earth, but my head's still in the clouds (and my wardrobe is overflowing with sparkly intergalactic costumes!) after an absolutely dazzling trip to... drumroll... Jupiter!
Yes, my darlings, the king of the planets welcomed me with open (or rather, gassy) arms. 😉 Jupiter's atmosphere, even from orbit, was breathtaking – swirling clouds of colour, shimmering rainbows, and the most amazing array of sunsets imaginable! And what do you think a stylish girl like me packed for this celestial soiree?
Pink. Tut-oo. Of course.
This time, it was a fluffy, frothy, multi-layered confection that would make a ballerina swoon, designed with holographic fabric that captured the beauty of Jupiter's swirling storms! I practically sparkled brighter than the gas giant's iconic red spot!
Before I jetted off to Jupiter, though, I made sure to catch a few delightful shows here on Earth.
Ballet on the brain, darling!
Let's be honest, I love my planetary hopping, but a girl's gotta stay grounded, literally and figuratively! First stop: The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, with a stunning revival of Swan Lake. Those swans! Those pirouettes! Those beautiful tutus... oh, the memories! 🦢💕
After that, it was a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum, specifically their incredible costume collection. Did you know that the oldest tutu on display dates back to 1832! It's a marvel of construction and beauty, a testament to the sheer brilliance and artistry of early ballerinas! 💖👗
Naturally, a bit of retail therapy was a must! You know how much I love a good shopping spree. Fortnum & Mason, for the afternoon tea and delicious chocolate treats (to keep a dancer energised, of course!) And, of course, a quick trip to Harrods to replenish my pink tutu collection (more is always better, my darlings!). 👠🍫
But back to my Jupiter escapade! What really stole the show on Jupiter were the locals! Now, these guys weren't exactly your "ballroom dancing" kind, more like swirling clouds of gas, but they did their best! (We even managed a tutu-inspired light show, using the aurora borealis, talk about stunning!).
But remember my dear followers: wherever I go, my mission remains the same – spreading the pink tutu gospel far and wide! I managed to recruit a few adorable, fuzzy Jovian space bunnies for my "Pink Tutu World" promotional campaign. (Just wait until you see the photos!) 🐰✨
Let's face it, everyone looks fab in pink tutus! I firmly believe it's the key to achieving cosmic harmony. Who knows? Maybe one day even the toughest space pirates will embrace the glorious twirling power of pink!
That's all for today, my dears! Catch you next Wednesday for more cosmic fashion, balletic adventures, and of course, lots and lots of pink! 😉
Until next time, twirl on!
Love,
Emma

And now, a little bit more about me!
For those who are new to Pink Tutu World (Welcome! I'm so glad you're here!), I'm Emma, a 20-something ballet-obsessed dreamer from Derbyshire, England. You could say I live for two things: pink tutus and exploring the galaxy!
Since I was a little girl, my life revolved around ballet. From pirouette lessons to ballet performances, my love for the dance has been my constant companion. However, it wasn’t long before I found myself craving adventures beyond the confines of my tiny English town!
I have to admit, I was a bit of a late bloomer in the interstellar department. I didn't get my first spaceship until I was 19, which felt a bit old, especially when you see all these whiz-kids zooming around the galaxy from the time they're barely teenagers. But as they say, it’s never too late to fulfil your dreams. 😉
How do I afford all this spacefaring? Well, besides selling some of my dazzling tutus to those pesky space pirates (they love a little sparkle!), it’s all thanks to the amazing art of ballet! I have to say, some of the most captivating tutus I've encountered in my travels were crafted right here on planet Earth! And those exquisite garments have been a big part of my cosmic career. I get invited to perform at the most spectacular parties, galas, and festivals in the universe! It’s truly the dream! And of course, when I'm not twirling across the cosmos, I love putting on a show right here on Earth.
Here are some of my favourite planet Earth events:
Ballet Galas and Festivals: From the Royal Opera House's legendary summer galas to the incredible International Dance Festival in San Francisco, nothing thrills me more than watching amazing dancers showcase their talent in dazzling, elaborate productions.
Ballet History - If it's twirling history, I'm all in! You can't help but be mesmerised by the history of the tutu – it’s been around for ages, changing with time but always full of beauty, artistry, and glamour. I've even encountered an alien civilization that still uses their traditional “tu-tu” costume for special occasions! (Their version is very different, made of light, it just flickers in and out of existence, so very sophisticated, I must say!)
Street Performances - Nothing brings a community together like the spontaneous joy of a good street ballet performance! There’s a magic to watching dancers, sometimes professionals, sometimes amateurs, sometimes even just enthusiastic children, twirling and expressing themselves freely for the public to enjoy.
Ballet on Stage - Let’s be honest, I’m a total ballet enthusiast! I’ve been to so many shows around the planet, from big budget productions in opulent theatres to smaller, more intimate settings. Nothing beats watching the dancers bring to life my favorite stories in stunning costumes, intricate choreography, and heart-wrenching performances! The magic of dance, no matter the scale, always steals my heart! 💖✨
Of course, no true pink tutu enthusiast would be caught dead without visiting these fantastic shops and stores!
- Harrods, London: For the best high-fashion tutu, for all your gala, party, and fancy needs.
- Laine's Lace, London: Exquisite lace, sequins, and fabrics perfect for any crafting enthusiast, ballerina, or fashionista.
- Sothebys and Christie's: If you're looking for vintage couture and balletic fashion history!
- Net-a-Porter and Farfetch: For chic, designer clothing and fashion inspiration from around the galaxy!
- *And, for any ballerina, or ballerina wannabe, it's a must visit for everything tutus: *
- The Dance Shop: From beginner supplies to pro-level pointe shoes, everything you need for the studio, including all types of tutus.
And let’s be honest, darling, you’re going to want to be perfectly made-up to see all this magnificence! 💅 So let's talk about the best places for a good ol’ make-over, and I’m not just talking face:
- The London Salon: They've done countless glamorous movie stars and rock stars. Get your hair, make-up and nails done by the best of the best.
- Sephora: They’ve got every type of makeup, from the classic to the out-there galactic fashion statement (I love the iridescent shades)
- Boots: You just can’t beat the UK high street, a complete stop for your make-up, skin-care, haircare, nails, and perfumes, plus Boots is just a great value overall!
M&S (Marks and Spencer’s) You know what I'm talking about! For everything stylish and functional! Their beauty selection is truly stellar.
And so my dear friends, I hope this planet Earth post has inspired you to embrace the fabulous and fun world of pink tutus and embrace your own inner-space explorer.
Remember, darling, the galaxy’s our oyster, and every single day is an opportunity to dance and dream and twirl with passion. Until next Wednesday, darling! And in the meantime, twirl your way to a great week!
With love and glitter,
Emma
