Planet Earth Blog: Pink Tutu Adventures - Post #386

Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means! Another Pink Tutu World post is here! This week's post is a little bit different because this Wednesday is extra special... It’s the day... It’s 2002-09-18th!! And as you know, 2002-09-18th is a Pink Tutu milestone… It's the day that the Pink Tutu World arrived on Planet Earth! Cue the confetti, my darlings!

I know, I know, you’re all wondering… how did a pink tutu wearing ballerina like me, end up traversing the cosmos, travelling on a magical spaceship to all corners of the universe? Well, to tell you the truth, it's not exactly a story for the history books, more like a whimsical fairytale with a whole lot of sequins and a whole lot of glitter… Oh, and did I mention it involved the most adorable pink tutus ever? Because, as I've said before, it all boils down to a good tutu, you see… It's all about the power of the pink tutu.

See, I always had a passion for dance, it’s in my blood. My mum told me that I used to stand on the coffee table in our home in Derbyshire, spinning in circles pretending to be a ballerina, aged about two! By the time I was four, I was hooked. Every weekend I was at ballet class, taking pirouettes and leaps in my beautiful pink tutu… it was my favourite.

Well, one day, in my late teens, a mysterious package arrived for me. It contained a silver invitation on the finest silk paper, sparkling with glitter and promising adventure and fun! It came from ā€œPlanet Glitter, 4533.ā€ Intrigued? So was I!

After weeks of reading up on planetary constellations, intergalactic flight, and finding the perfect shimmering, silver spacesuit to wear over my trusty pink tutu (pink tutu, always a priority! ), I set off! It wasn't long before I was surrounded by constellations and nebulae. As we made our way across the vastness of the universe, the only sounds I could hear were the whirring of the engines of my spaceship, a chorus of starlight echoing through the void and my heart beating with pure excitement!

And there, twinkling amidst a plethora of star clusters was Planet Glitter, as promised. Now, Planet Glitter is what dreams are made of – sparkling, twinkling, a place with shops overflowing with the most exquisite costumes imaginable (with a special section just for tutus!). And in the midst of all the glamour, surrounded by dancing astronauts in sequinned catsuits, I met her - the Princess of Planet Glitter! She is the absolute Queen of sparkles, she wears pink a lot, and she always has a matching pink tutu! We’ve become the best of friends – well, me, her and the spaceship!

Now, after that day on Planet Glitter, my spaceship and I have become inseparable. We’ve toured the universe and back, experiencing galaxies galore, stopping for shopping sprees (especially for tutus! ) and taking in the shows, ballets and operas performed by extraterrestrials all over the galaxy! My love affair with space continues - every time I wear my tutu, I am reminded of all the extraordinary places I have been and all the magical adventures we've had together. My favourite was seeing a giant spaceballet, with a spectacular light show on a distant planet with ten moons! I also made a lot of friends on that planet, too… some are still in touch, you can follow them on my pink-tutu.com website – it’s amazing!

As the spaceship and I cruised back to Earth today, a nostalgic feeling of awe washed over me – there, orbiting the blue planet, we were back… my heart was filled with excitement, because, well… it's all happening, my darlings… the pink tutu revolution is about to begin!

And who knows what other fabulous adventures we will have, my dearest readers? But one thing is certain, the future of pink tutus looks as bright as a thousand sunrises and full of possibilities. I'll keep you all updated – check back here next Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com for all my galactic adventures, dance inspirations, and outfit ideas… and, of course, a glimpse into my incredible life… you know, the life of an ordinary girl, who always wanted to spread joy, and is now taking it to the universe, one pink tutu at a time!

Stay fabulous, my darlings!

Yours in pink tutus,

Emma xoxox

Fashion Feature: A Dress that Fits your Tutu

Here at Pink Tutu World, we don't just love the beautiful art form that is ballet; we love its history and fashion, too! This week, my gorgeous dress to go with my Pink Tutu World wardrobe, is from none other than one of my favourite high-street retailers: Fashion-Avenue! This blush pink, tulle tiered midi-dress is totally the vibe - a beautiful fit for both a performance or a lunch date at The Glitter Room, with all my ballerina friends. And at just Ā£20 (approximately 23 EU), it won’t break the bank! I paired my new dress with the iconic ā€œPrima Ballerinaā€ tutu (my all-time favourite, and it comes in pink of course!) from Tutu Shop. The tutu is from the exclusive collection which I have collaborated on with Tutu Shop – you all have got to get your hands on it - there are so many wonderful pink designs to choose from! You know I always have to be in the most fabulous outfits for when I am performing and that’s why I chose Fashion-Avenue, it's definitely my go-to retailer!

Now, before you all go running to Fashion-Avenue, let me give you some of my must-have fashion tips that will leave everyone green with envy...

Pink Tutu Styling Tips:

For the casual ballerina : Pair your favourite pink tutu with a soft-coloured t-shirt, and flat ballet shoes (pink of course! ). For a look that screams ā€˜elegant’: Pair your pink tutu with a cute blouse, some heels and your best lipstick. I highly recommend a pink shade for this. For a special occasion: Try adding some jewellery! A little bit of bling really makes an outfit sing.

My Pink Tutu World blog always aims to inspire. I am always looking for new, fun, unique ways to make everyone want to put on a pink tutu.

Here are my fashion faves:

A special tutu-shaped handbag: Let me just tell you, the only thing more wonderful than a pink tutu? A pink tutu shaped handbag.

A ballet themed t-shirt: Yes! Ballet fashion is getting bolder and bolder, and there are some stunning ballet t-shirts on the market, with some absolutely beautiful quotes – the "Never Give Up on your Dreams" quote from Swan Lake, I highly recommend!

I hope you are all inspired by the Pink Tutu World style tips – next week I’ll be exploring some fabulous pink tulle ideas for the autumn and winter fashion! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for this post – Wednesday, next week at www.pink-tutu.com.

Diary Date: Dance the Night Away… with a Tutu

Don't forget to save the date! On 2002-09-20th (that's next Friday), I'll be performing with a fabulous dance troupe called "The Spacetime Ballettes", who are performing at the renowned "Dance Dome" Theatre in London, Earth.

Now, I know you're thinking: Emma, what will you be dancing to? Well, that’s what the secret is all about! This is my first official ballet show back on Planet Earth, so it’s super-secret, but I promise you - it will be a fabulous and magical night! And there will be glitter… oh yes, plenty of glitter… it will be incredible!

I will keep you all updated and will give a run down of everything after my performance, but for now, make sure to pop the date in your diary, because it’s not to be missed! I have tickets to give away! The competition will go live at 6:00pm UK time this evening. Good luck, my lovely darlings! I can’t wait to see you all there!

Stay sparkly,

Emma xoxox
