Hello darlings! Emma here, your pinkest tutu-clad guide to the wonders of the galaxy! Today's blog is all about my recent visit to Planet Earth - a beautiful blue marble swirling around a fiery star. Did I mention I LOVE the colour blue? It's right up there with pink for sheer elegance and heavenly vibes.
Before we get into my earthly escapades, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the schedule of my galactic ballet tours for the coming months. My dazzling pink tutu needs to be stretched across the vast expanses of space, you know? My intergalactic performances are so much fun - think starlight glitters and sparkling nebulas. Just picture a space ballerina pirouetting amongst shimmering stars!
Ballet Under the Milky Way - My Tour ScheduleMay
1st-3rd: A Celestial Choreography: An intergalactic collaboration with the dancing robots of Vega, followed by a moonlit cocktail reception.
15th-18th: Black Hole Tango: I’m exploring the artistry of the dancing shadows that dance on the periphery of these mysterious celestial objects. Don’t worry, we’ll be far enough away for my tutu to remain pink and untainted by those dark swirling abyssal depths!
June
8th-10th: Cosmic Catwalk: A glamorous tutu catwalk at a star system gala with my fashionista pals from Sirius, with a spotlight performance from yours truly! They even promise some delicious cocktails of fermented nebula gases... sounds delicious! It will be all about fashion and space couture - can’t wait!
24th-27th: Interplanetary Ballet Bonanza: An epic four-day ballet event for space explorers from every corner of the galaxy, including myself, in a hidden constellation for a top-secret performance. I’ve got a dazzling pink space-age tutu ready for this one - complete with built-in rocket booster for impressive high leaps. I simply can’t give away all my secrets - this will be a must-see event, I’m sure! I’ll be making a special Instagram video from the rehearsal, so stay tuned, my lovelies!
July
- 13th-16th: Solar System Showstopper: A spectacular performance right in the middle of the solar system! My tutu’s shimmer is going to be phenomenal when it reflects the sunlight of our favourite bright star, the Sun!
Right now, though, I’m all about Earth and how I can help make it a more stylish place. And by that, I obviously mean by getting everyone to wear a pink tutu, darlings!
It was so fun experiencing the beauty and energy of Planet Earth, as well as its captivating history and the unique culture. I always feel like such a tourist when I first land on a new planet – my heart is full of excitement!
The Joys of Earth: London Ballet Shows and Pink Dresses GaloreLanding on Earth, I couldn’t wait to hit the London scene. It was simply overflowing with excitement and, darlings, a little theatre never hurt nobody, as my granny used to say. London's ballet scene is incredibly vibrant! From the majestic Royal Opera House, which hosts world-famous companies like the Royal Ballet, to the intimate Sadler’s Wells, where emerging talents are nurtured, it's a paradise for any ballet aficionado. I had the opportunity to attend several breathtaking ballets at the Royal Opera House: Swan Lake , The Sleeping Beauty - just a true classic, darling – and The Nutcracker , which just made my heart swoon with its delightful story! Every detail was perfect, from the elegant dancers' costumes and intricate makeup, to the beautiful, intricate set designs, I was absolutely entranced.
I simply adored the ballet companies here on earth - so sophisticated and expressive! The dancers’ movement and artistry were truly exquisite, transporting me to worlds of fantastical romance and ethereal beauty. It's just amazing to experience so much artistry at such a high standard.
Speaking of standards, let’s talk about my trip to Harrods in Knightsbridge. It's a bit like a massive candy store for a fashionista like me! I’d had to go all out in the designer fashion department – can you really say no to pink in London, after all? I’m so grateful I can always rely on my favourite designer on Planet Earth: Christian Louboutin – those red soles are a true masterpiece.
I have been known to love a dress. I simply love their soft flowing shapes and vibrant colours, and their femininity is quite frankly intoxicating, especially when styled with my signature pink tutu. I bought the most stunning silk pink evening dress in the deepest shade of dusky pink from a local artisan in Covent Garden, a real piece of art.
It simply can’t get any more elegant.
A Glimpse of British History and My Derbyshire RootsI managed to squeeze in a visit to the Tower of London too. While the architecture was stunning, all that history, from kings and queens, to tales of murder, intrigues me deeply, but there were no tutu's, which felt a little less Pink Tutu World vibes - let’s face it, they missed a great opportunity there, right? Maybe we need to do a ballet on British History for my next tour? I think we need to teach those medieval lords and ladies about pink tutus.
As some of you lovely followers already know, I'm a Derbyshire lass, a bit like my friend the famous playwright, D.H. Lawrence. But let's focus on tutus. We Derbyshire girls know a thing or two about ballet shoes. Derbyshire's Peak District was home to a rich textile industry, producing everything from lace and silk to the fine materials used for the famous pointe shoes of the world's most renowned ballet dancers. Imagine, the fabric used for pointe shoes originated in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, which is still a sight to behold. You can see it when you land your space ship! It’s like seeing a ballet on a canvas.
Ballet On Planet Earth, a Reflection of Us AllBeing on Planet Earth gave me so much inspiration. I saw how the artistry and spirit of ballet was alive in its theatres, its galleries and the everyday lives of its people. It was like seeing myself and my tutu-loving passion reflected in its history and culture. If my favourite planets are the vibrant Venus with its shimmering golden beauty, and Mars, with its striking red rock landscape and the prospect of discovery and adventure. Earth will have to be up there amongst the top contenders - its energy was simply mesmerising!
That’s it for today’s post, darlings. I can't wait to hear all about your own favourite tutu moments this week! Remember, a pink tutu can be anything you want it to be! Let me know how you're using your creativity to express yourself - what are you going to do today, darling, to add a bit more colour to the universe?
See you next Wednesday!
XOXO
Emma
