Well, technically, I never left – it's just that some parts of the cosmos have been holding me captive in a tutu-shaped vortex of joy. Now, I've been gallivanting around the universe since we last chatted – and my travels took me to some truly incredible places! The latest galactic hotspot was an interdimensional dance hall on a pulsating planet made entirely of glitter (not even kidding, darling!). I waltzed the night away with a gang of supernova-coloured beings who looked straight out of a Space Opera ballet! 🌌
But, as always, it's so lovely to be back amongst the humans – and nothing beats a proper Earthly afternoon at the ballet! Especially when you can take your very own tutu-clad pup (you didn't think I could travel without my four-legged best friend, did you?)! Oh, you want to know how he gets through customs? I've learned from the best, darling - a little twinkle in the eyes, a couple of well-timed pirouettes and a whole lotta puppy dog charm can convince even the most stubborn interstellar official. 😜
Speaking of charm, it's so exciting, my loves! You wouldn't believe the latest in ballet trends on Planet Earth. Imagine my excitement, though – they've decided that "tutu" is no longer just for the ballet, no, no darling – now, everyone's rocking them, everywhere!
Think Street Style, darling! Picture those impossibly stylish girls on the streets of London, New York, Paris (oh, you just know the Parisian's are rocking the tutu trend!). They're not just wearing your typical ballet-class tulle – oh no, these girls are creating looks for every occasion. Think tulle jackets, oh so chic, tutu tops for a romantic evening, even tutu accessories, darling – a tulle bag for your groceries? We've officially reached Peak Tutu. 💫
And it gets even more fun when you consider all the possibilities with colour! Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a die-hard pink* aficionado but let's be honest, darlings – the world is filled with gorgeous colours! Who can resist a bold, dramatic, fabulous scarlet tutu?! Or how about a sultry, sophisticated midnight blue? Maybe a bright, bold, and energetic sunflower yellow, darling? Just thinking about the options has me spinning in circles! ✨
As much as I love the exciting fashion forwardness on Earth right now, my roots always call me back to the classics, darling. You know I had to go visit the Royal Ballet after landing! And guess what?! I snagged two fantastic seats for Giselle at the Royal Opera House! It’s absolutely legendary - not just for its breathtaking choreography, the sublime storytelling, but because it's an example of classic tutu design, done right. 😍
You simply can’t forget the magic of the ballet, darlings! There’s just something extraordinary about those beautiful costumes, that breathtaking skill, that graceful storytelling, that just takes your breath away. It doesn’t just remind me of my own journey (because, let's be honest, there’s always an extra sprinkle of fairy dust and magic in that tutu of mine).
Speaking of magic, you know what date it is today?! Yes darling, it's 2nd June. The anniversary of one of the most iconic, spectacular ballet moments ever: Margot Fonteyn's first performance as Giselle at the Royal Opera House back in 1935! I absolutely had to be here, especially on this date – the air in this grand theatre was absolutely buzzing, as if it remembered the night Fonteyn took the stage and ignited the world's imagination with her incredible dancing! ✨
