Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Blog Post #508 – 19th January 2005: The Day I Fell in Love with a Tutu

Hello my lovelies!

It’s Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, and it’s Wednesday, so you know what that means! It’s time for another instalment of my planet Earth blog! I hope you are all well and that this post finds you twirling with happiness! It’s been a truly exhilarating week on Planet Earth, so let me tell you all about it, darling!

Off to the Theatre

Right, where do I even begin?! Firstly, darling, let’s talk theatre. Because this past Saturday, I was at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham watching the absolute most incredible production of "Swan Lake". It was perfection, from the swans, graceful and shimmering in their white tulle, to the Prince, oh, so dashing! He swept the ballerina, in a tutu that had to have been at least ten layers thick, right off her feet! I just adore that classic, romantic ballet – and I’m not ashamed to admit, I did shed a happy little tear or two during the performance!

My dear friend, Amelia, knows just how much I adore ballet and gave me tickets to see it for my birthday! She knows me well - this little tutu-loving dancer knows she always needs a dose of “Swan Lake” in her life every few months, like a delicious dose of fairy tale! I think I am almost completely recovered from that stunning performance! I was absolutely captivated! If I ever get to have a costume for "Swan Lake" made, I’m thinking it'll have to be a very sparkly pink, right?

Now, before you think this girl has lost her mind, Amelia, like me, lives and breathes pink and all things sparkly and fabulous! A few days later, Amelia was my trusty wing-woman as I dashed off to London for a whole day of shopping and indulging my passion for the latest dance wear and pretty clothes, of course.

Oh, darling, London is truly a pink-tutu-lover's paradise! It’s brimming with fabulous fashion! We even indulged in afternoon tea with pinky-purple cake. I mean, really! Who wouldn't be thrilled with a life that includes pink cake, gorgeous tutus, and a magical ballet performance? It's all part of the dream, my darlings!

Intergalactic Travels: Destination - Mars!

The highlight of my week, however, wasn't on planet Earth at all, darlings! Oh, it was truly fantastic. This Monday, my little spaceship zipped me to Mars for a truly cosmic ballet adventure!

I adore my spacesuit. The whole crew agreed we had to find a suit in hot pink and silver to celebrate my cosmic adventure. So, we even managed to jazz up the boring helmets with sparkly pink diamantes. Well, darling, we were going to a party!

Mars, I’m afraid, was a little grey in comparison to the vibrant colours of planet Earth. But it did boast an absolutely mesmerising ballet troupe - imagine a ballet in the shimmering moonlight of Mars, my lovelies!

The dancing there was phenomenal, of course. Imagine, darling, all the amazing patterns, swirling across the red, dusty, Martian sky! These dancers, truly magnificent.

They even danced in this super-gorgeous, all pink, tulle material. The colour of this material was breathtaking. You’ll have to wait to see my photographs – the internet on Mars is quite tricky and I haven’t had a chance to upload them to www.pink-tutu.com yet.

Oh darling! Now, let’s get back to what I’m about, pink tutus, my loves, the absolute joy and absolute must-have in my life. Did I mention this is exactly why I took my show to Mars? Of course, to share my pink tutu love and to spread my message – the entire universe, dressed in fabulous, gorgeous, shimmering pink tutus!

Well, darlings, the martians went absolutely wild! They loved my performances. Everyone wore a fabulous pink tutu. Well, we just love the whole look – especially on a Martian landscape.

They said I was fabulous and had “such fabulous pink tutu style”! Now, let’s just get back to the point. Of course, I love this! How about that! We had such a glorious time. And honestly, darlings, isn't that what life is about? Fabulous pink tutus, wonderful friends, a bit of cosmic dancing and a sprinkle of magic?!

Well, my lovelies, that is all for now! My dance lessons are starting soon! You'll have to forgive me. But, don't forget to visit my blog, www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday to find out all about how it goes! In the meantime, why not treat yourself to a trip to your favourite dance store. I just know you'll find the perfect pink tutu! Bye for now darlings.
