Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - 14th June 2006 (Post #581)

Darling, it's Wednesday again! Which means a brand new post from yours truly, Emma, the Pink Tutu Queen! I'm writing to you from Earth right now, but believe me, my pink tutus are packed and ready for a grand adventure... well, grand-ish anyway, let's not get carried away!

This week's post is all about a ballet I saw yesterday. You know how much I love a good ballet show, right? This one was absolutely exquisite, like a swirl of tulle and twinkling lights, and, well, let's just say it was utterly inspiring. Oh, darling, before we dive in, did you know that June 14th is "Flag Day" in America? I must admit, a bit underwhelming when you consider the vastness of the universe, but I think even the universe can do with a bit of flag-waving! Anyway, enough with the history lesson, on to my lovely ballet review...

From Derbyshire to the Theatre - And a Very Stylish Intergalactic Ride!

Now, this little ballet jaunt began in the quaint, lovely Derbyshire, where I hail from, the very heart of England. But a ballet queen never sits still, especially when there are planets to explore and tutus to share! I popped into my trusty spaceship, named 'Twirl' - don't worry, she's as chic as a pair of pink ballet shoes - and whisked myself to the nearest major city that boasts a magnificent, and I do mean magnificent, theatre. The stars, by the way, looked spectacular that night!

Oh darling, let me tell you about Twirl for a moment. Her paint job is a dreamy lavender with a silver finish, she sparkles like a disco ball after a few too many cocktails (or a generous dusting of star dust), and, to top it off, she even has a holographic portrait of me, adorned in my favourite pink tutu, emblazoned across the cockpit! A girl needs to travel in style, and frankly, I'm a diva about my spaceship's aesthetics.

Ballet Review - Oh La La, What a Spectacle!

Once at the theatre, the glamour kicked in. Let's face it, every performance space is practically a temple of artistry. I loved everything about the evening! From the grandeur of the theatre entrance, a whirlwind of silk and velvet, to the plush velvet seats that practically whispered "ooh la la" and promised a night of blissful relaxation. Honestly, everything about the place made me want to twirl, and honestly, darling, who could blame me?

As the lights dimmed, anticipation danced through the air. It was as if the whole universe had gathered to witness a moment of magic, a tapestry woven from steps and grace. The performance itself? Utterly breathtaking! Imagine a delicate snowflake, melting on a delicate petal. It was precisely that! The dancers flowed like a current, a cascade of pink and ivory costumes that left my heart skipping. They even included a scene set against the backdrop of a supernova, a sea of sparkling stardust, and darling, you wouldn't believe how stunning it was. There were scenes of such emotional intensity, such poignant artistry, I found myself reaching for my pink tissues!

Speaking of pink, it wasn't a performance lacking in colour. And there wasn't a single pink tutu in sight! Perhaps I've set the bar too high, or maybe they just haven't caught up with the pink tutu trend. You see, I'm on a mission to spread the joy of tutus, to get everyone in the universe wearing a fabulous pink tutu. It's the ultimate statement of feminine energy, of grace, of a little bit of magic sprinkled into everyday life! I even dream of pink tutus waltzing across the moonlit surface of Saturn! Wouldn't that be just delightful?

*Fashion, Oh My! *

After the performance, the most important thing? Shopping of course! The night demanded a post-show celebration of elegance and style, and trust me, I didn't disappoint. You wouldn't believe the shoes I found! A pair of glittery flats adorned with delicate silver flowers, and a magnificent pair of satin ballet pumps with a shocking pink bow. These babies, oh, these babies are going to take the galaxy by storm! And let's not forget about a few accessories: a sequined handbag that practically screamed ā€œglamourā€ and a delicate pink feather boa to complete the look. Oh, darling, my wardrobe is practically begging to be worn!

But my adventures aren't over. Every planet has its own unique charm. I just discovered the most spectacular hat shop in London (Earth). I mean, look at these gorgeous floral hats, I mean... it’s hat heaven and that’s saying something because the hat trends are fierce right now. My latest space travel to Earth had an itinerary focused on all things hat! It’s just something about a beautifully crafted hat, it makes a statement like a delicious croissant. (I know, a strange comparison but stay with me here….) Hats like this can make you feel like you're conquering the universe. Just like me in my fabulous, pink tutus.

Stay tuned! Until Next Time

Now, it’s time to get this fabulous pink tutu into my spaceship, and set off to new cosmic horizons! After all, darling, there’s so much beauty to explore in the universe.

Join me next week for another dose of pink tutus and intergalactic fun. It’s going to be sensational. I'm looking at a vintage-style ballerina performance on planet Venus. You know I'm excited, and if that’s not worth writing a post about then I don’t know what is. Don’t forget, new blog every Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com. Stay fabulous, darling, and keep twirling!

Much Love and Happy Dancing! Emma
