Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth – Blog Post 600!

Hello my darling tutu lovers!

It’s Wednesday again, which means another Pink Tutu World blog post, and guess what? You’re in for a real treat today! This week I'm taking you right back to my very first space voyage, to planet Earth in 2006! Oh, the memories! I still remember the feeling of my spaceship taking off and leaving all the little Earth worries behind. This particular trip was to see a truly spectacular performance by the world-famous Birmingham Royal Ballet.

I still get butterflies just thinking about it. Birmingham - it's always such a treat. It's just such a bustling, lively city, absolutely bursting with creativity, and this show, The Sleeping Beauty, was one for the ages! Imagine, my darling dears, a whole ballet entirely dedicated to tutus! It was pure magical bliss!

So let me tell you about the most amazing outfit I wore to that Birmingham performance. Oh, the absolute picture of feminine grace! A pale, shimmering pink tutu that flowed like a delicate cloud. Of course, it had a subtle layer of pink sequins sprinkled across it to catch the lights of the theatre - a touch of the fabulous, my lovelies. But what truly made the outfit sing was a bespoke silk corset I had made, which beautifully complimented the rosy hues of the tutu. And I simply can't forget those luscious cherry red stilettos, perfectly reflecting the deep colour of the roses I held in my hands. It was truly everything!

I can’t forget how absolutely stunning the ballet company looked. I’ve never seen so many pink tutus in one place before! Each ballerina was a breathtaking vision of grace and beauty, twirling across the stage like graceful pink fairies. The detail in each tutu was just breathtaking - so much attention to the stitching, the fabric, the embroidery. The entire audience was spellbound. You could hear a pin drop, apart from the joyous clapping at the end of each act. I swear, darling, there was such magic in the air you could feel it.

It's amazing to think that all those years ago I had just begun to share my passion for tutus and ballet with the universe. Today, thanks to the power of Pink Tutu World, I'm sharing the joy of tutus with millions across the cosmos. It’s truly humbling to see how the pink tutu has become a symbol of joy, self-expression, and love in so many cultures!

After the Birmingham show, of course, there had to be some shopping! It was simply impossible to resist the vibrant pink fashion scene. We strolled through the shops of the bustling city centre, a veritable symphony of colourful silk and glittering tulle. The local designers, oh, they knew exactly how to put a twist on the classic tutu! One designer even showcased a range of bespoke tutus made of recycled materials. A very earth-conscious approach! But my favourite find had to be a pair of pink high-heeled shoes covered in hundreds of tiny sparkly hearts - truly a gift for the senses, darling. I simply had to add them to my collection!

To continue our trip on Planet Earth, I must mention that it was the most delicious food that made this journey so memorable. My very dear cousin in Derby, my home in Derbyshire England, cooked the most exquisite meals! From delicate scones and jam to fluffy omelettes made with locally sourced eggs and creamy cheese - the flavours simply exploded on my taste buds. It was the perfect blend of sophisticated and comfort, and truly put the finishing touches on my wonderful time on Earth.

This was also a trip that had such a lasting impact on my perspective of space exploration. Seeing this incredible planet, filled with so many cultures and amazing historical sights, left a deep impression on me. It inspired me to dedicate myself to my passion for spreading the joy of ballet across the universe!

Of course, my love for ballet and travel takes me to all sorts of amazing places across the galaxy! This week’s blog was all about my trip to Birmingham back in 2006. Let me know in the comments section if you’d like to hear more stories about my early years as a pink tutu ambassador!

*P.S. Did you know, the 25th of October in 2006 was a Wednesday? That makes it the perfect date to celebrate all things pink and twirly, don’t you think? I even wore this exact pink tutu and those red shoes to my birthday party on this very date in 2006. The pink champagne, the twinkling lights, the laughter… I still feel the joy of it all. *
