Darling readers,
How are you all? I’m absolutely beaming, it’s Wednesday which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! This week I’ve been having a fabulous time on planet Earth, getting ready for a dazzling trip back to the Milky Way, so I thought I’d give you a quick peek into what I’ve been up to.
Remember last week when I mentioned that the cosmic currents were aligned perfectly for some cosmically gorgeous new pink tutus to arrive? Well, I’m pleased to report they landed last Tuesday - literally! My spaceship was just landing back at Earth’s Spaceport in my beloved Derbyshire, when the most exquisite cosmic courier flew past - it was all sparkly and shimmery, with its little lights flashing on and off, and it had a little pink ribbon attached. Honestly darling, I could hardly believe my eyes, it was just so dreamy.
Of course, there was no chance I’d let this little treasure slip past! So, after securing a delicious cream tea in the Spaceport Café (my tummy needs those sweet things after a long space voyage!), I hot-footed it over to the galactic delivery service counter to meet the adorable cosmic courier. The little one had a bag of new pink tutus, delivered especially for me from the star system of Alpha Centauri. Honestly, you should have seen their sparkly designs - all metallic-pink sequins and fluffy pink ostrich feathers! I just fell in love!
Now I can't give away the exact designs - that's a top secret until I perform them, but I can tell you, you haven't seen sparkly before! The sparkle factor alone is a show stopper, and darling, they move beautifully!
That got me all excited, and thinking about how much I loved ballet performances.
Remember back in April, darling readers, I promised I would tell you all about the stunning, ‘The Nutcracker’, at the Royal Opera House. Well, darling, I simply have to share my experience with you all - it’s simply a must-see for anyone with even the slightest love of the art.
Now, you already know how much I adore Tchaikovsky and how magical it feels to be whisked away on a whirlwind of notes as he sweeps you through the narrative of the story! Every performance by The Royal Ballet is simply breath-taking, with every dancer a whirlwind of energy and graceful motion!
I adore the storytelling, from the delightful simplicity of the party scene to the swirling elegance of the snow scene, to the mysterious and wondrous Kingdom of Sweets.
And what are tutus without a delicious performance, darling! The choreography for The Nutcracker is utterly sublime. The whole ballet has a real ‘Christmas card' atmosphere to it! The festive and elegant decorations add a touch of magical, snowy-Christmas whimsy to everything! It's like every element - costumes, lights, music, and dance – was dreamt up specifically to enchant and delight, and they just flowed together perfectly. I am simply enchanted by the entire production!
The Nutcracker was, of course, on at the glorious Royal Opera House on The Strand, London, darling! What an absolute iconic location, and such history! There I was in my Pink Tutu with the other ladies, enjoying the atmosphere and anticipation that only comes with a Royal Opera House performance. We are just lucky, darlings, to have it in our beautiful and vibrant London!
Of course, darling, The Nutcracker always reminds me of the story of how my grandmother used to drag my poor grandpa to every Nutcracker performance with her, darling! Grandpa, darling, was a stickler for Bartok, and would happily spend evenings listening to his music on vinyl records in our lounge at home in Derbyshire, whilst she dragged him off to The Royal Opera House. Poor grandpa!
It made me wonder, if she was with us this night, whether she would have preferred a night out at a London theatre listening to Bartok's music instead of a night watching the Nutcracker? It was so sweet of her to go along with her own personal musical taste for the sake of making her precious hubby happy. Perhaps grandpa didn't mind as much after all. I mean, The Nutcracker is quite the impressive performance! He would've enjoyed watching all the pink tutus - we all love pink tutus.
The Nutcracker, is indeed the perfect festive family favourite for both children and adults, as it’s just as much of an event to enjoy the spectacle of the venue itself. I even made time to explore the Royal Opera House’s elegant shops. Honestly, you’ve simply got to visit the Royal Opera House, even if just to walk the corridors - if only for a trip to The Terrace Bar after the performance for an afternoon afternoon tea. A must! I find the Opera House just a beautifully-designed historical venue with so much grace, and elegance - just the kind of beautiful venue that just draws you in, makes you feel relaxed and wanting to learn more.
Speaking of relaxed, darling, it's time to leave the Earth and go off into the cosmic deep, but you know, my darlings, I do have a plan to perform for you lovely earthlings very soon! You’ve all been waiting so patiently - I have the perfect pink tutu for my next show - the one from the cosmic delivery from Alpha Centauri. I can’t wait to show you the sparkles, darling!
So watch this space, darling, for details of my next performance - I'm planning to fly my spaceship right above London this week! Just so you know - and hopefully see my sparkling tutu flying through the sky above your local streets.
I’m off now, darling readers. This pink tutu girl is jet-setting away into the great expanse of the cosmic realm, and with another dazzling pink tutu performance on my horizon, it's sure to be another cosmically enchanting adventure!
I will be back next week - and make sure to look out for our pink tutus performing high in the skies above London! Have a magical time, and I’ll see you again soon!
Lots of Love,
Emma x
