Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing, intergalactic ballet enthusiast, Emma, here! I'm back on Planet Earth after another whirlwind of spacefaring adventures, and oh my goodness, have I got stories to tell!
This week, I'm channeling the "Enchanted Forest" theme, because as much as I love a good space opera, a touch of nature is always a delight. Picture it, if you will, a balletic spectacle under a canopy of twinkling stars, surrounded by ethereal flowers that glow with celestial light - it's just divine!
But first, let's catch up on all things pink and twirly from my week on Earth. You know me, darling - when I'm back on home soil, it's all about the ballet, the shopping, and of course, the delicious high tea that Derbyshire has to offer.
The Grand Theatre: Where Dreams Take Flight
I was lucky enough to snag a prime seat at the Nottingham Royal Ballet's "Giselle" production last Thursday. I adore a good "Giselle," and this one really knocked my socks off (well, it wouldn't have - I was wearing a stunning lilac tutu, after all!). The dancing was utterly magical, with a blend of effortless grace and sheer power that left me completely spellbound.
The choreography was exquisitely detailed, and the costumes, oh, the costumes! I simply had to admire the delicate white tutus of the "Wilis" - those ethereal ballet figures haunting the forest. There's a special place in my heart for a traditional tutu, and this show certainly delivered on that front.
But, as much as I love a good classic, you know me, I'm all about pushing those boundaries! After the show, I found myself at the "Giselle" exhibition, where they had a stunning display of original costumes from past productions. I had to get my photo with the stunning emerald-green tutu from the 1930s. Talk about vintage glam!
The Pinkest Tea Party You've Ever Seen!
It wouldn't be a week on Earth without a trip to the "Tea Room by the Park" in Matlock. This charming little tea room is a true hidden gem, darling, tucked away in the heart of Derbyshire. They offer a selection of teas, of course, but what makes this place so special are the pastries. We're talking miniature pink cupcakes, delicate macarons, and dainty little cookies, all adorned with a sprinkle of pink sparkle. I must have devoured a dozen mini pink éclairs.
Now, I don't want you to think I'm obsessed with pink. (It's just a touch of whimsy.) This trip, I also had to go all out with a selection of "The Queen of the Pink" blush pink and rose-gold lipstick. It's perfect for giving a subtle yet sassy pink touch to any outfit, and let me tell you, it paired divinely with the lilac tutu at the ballet.
Adventures in the Galaxy: Destination... Venus!
Now, back to those interstellar travels! I am excited to share a little snippet of my last journey - Venus. You see, the Venusian ballet scene is simply extraordinary. The choreography is so innovative! There are beautiful underwater routines, which really add a magical touch to the performances. The colours, too! The entire performance is bathed in an ethereal, turquoise glow that creates a sense of magic and otherworldliness. And the music - it's almost as though they’re speaking to you.
It was absolutely fascinating. They've got an advanced, advanced type of space technology, which I am planning to write a piece on in the next couple of weeks for Pink Tutu Weekly. It will involve some top-secret knowledge that I learned whilst visiting. This really ties into how you can embrace ballet across different planets. I think it would be lovely to see everyone embracing the pink tutu, on every single planet. I mean, who doesn't like a bit of twirling around the universe in the ultimate ballet costume?
Speaking of outfits, dear readers, my latest travel-ready tutu is a truly spectacular sight! This time, I've embraced the theme of my journey - think galactic shimmer. It's a swirling kaleidoscope of colours, complete with delicate moon-dust embellishments, and shimmering constellation-like designs, giving the illusion that it's twinkling. (It makes for fabulous spaceship pictures!)
And it's all because I'm embracing new and interesting worlds in our vast and exciting galaxy, of course. I believe we are all artists, and that we can dance our way through anything. Whether that be here on Earth, or somewhere across the universe!
I also love it when I can help to raise money for worthy causes! I have recently partnered with "Children’s Ballet Company", which teaches ballet to disadvantaged children. I recently gave them some tips about performance art, as well as showing them how to embrace a personal style. What is better than sharing the joy of dance with the next generation of ballerinas and ballet enthusiasts? And of course, this involves the art of sharing that very special item of clothing, the pink tutu!
The Week Ahead: Onward to the "Grand Finale!"
This week, my dearest readers, is a busy one. I'm going to be attending a dazzling, vibrant show at the Hippodrome. The “Sands of Time” ballet production promises to be a beautiful dance between the classic and the modern.
I can't wait to get a photo for the blog - but I don’t want to give you too many spoilers. You'll just have to wait for my next post.
Until next Wednesday, when I will regale you with the tale of my adventure into a pink and twinkling world. I've had so much fun travelling again, and it’s so wonderful to see you all enjoying it as much as I do. Keep spreading the ballet love and dance to your heart’s content!

Sending you all my love and sparkling twirls,
