Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #686

Greetings, fellow fashionistas and dance enthusiasts!

It’s Emma here, your cosmically-chic ballet blogger, reporting live from Planet Earth, and let me tell you, it’s been a whirlwind week!

This week, as always, I’ve been channeling my inner ballerina and flitting between fabulous events on our own beautiful, green Earth. This week has been a whirl, as you may imagine! It's hard to choose a favourite moment - so you can see what's been happening this week, you know the drill: prepare yourselves for a whirlwind tour of everything I've been up to…

Wednesday: "Let’s Get This Tutu-torial Started, Girls!"

This Wednesday, like every Wednesday, I launched a brand new blog post! I know, right? It's my weekly treat for all you pink tutu loving souls! This week, I unveiled my secrets to achieving the perfect ballerina bun - and by "perfect," I mean, of course, the most dazzlingly pink ballerina bun the world has ever seen!

Thursday: A Cosmic Shopping Spree in the Capital

Remember last week when I said I'd found a new magical planet filled with shimmering, sparkly tutus and beautiful ballet shoes? Well, this Thursday, I ventured to London, a little metropolis on Planet Earth, to uncover hidden treasures and unleash my inner shopaholic. You know the score, there's simply no such thing as too many pink tutus. My current favourite is an enchanting confection of lavender tulle and shimmering sequins that whispers "ballet queen" in every movement.

Friday: Ballet and Butterflies at the Royal Opera House

My Friday was spent at the grand Royal Opera House in London! Can you believe it, dear readers? It's been one of my ballet dreams for years and I was delighted to catch the stunning Cinderella, performed by the Royal Ballet. Of course, my favourite part was when Cinderella, her gown resplendent in dazzling, feminine pink, took to the stage and twirled through a world of wonder! Let me tell you, a tutu-wearing ballerina like myself cannot not get swept away by the sheer magic of such artistry.

Saturday: "On Pointe" on the Streets of Derbyshire

Well, I'm a big believer in bringing ballet to the masses. This weekend I returned home to Derbyshire, my ancestral land. I put on a spectacular street ballet performance. I'll tell you a secret: I love the expression and wonder on people's faces when I do a fouetté on the pavement. Oh, it just fills me with joy. Do you know? When I’m wearing a pink tutu and performing ballet outside in the open air I really do feel a strong connection to planet earth. I get so much from that earthy, Derbyshire countryside - it reminds me how fortunate we are to live on this wonderful, colourful, lush and friendly green planet!

Sunday: A Heavenly Lunch With My Ballet Besties

Every week I spend at least one day in Derbyshire and I always try to make time for my balletic besties - the girls who have been with me from day one, and whose endless encouragement fuels my love for all things pink and twirly! You can never have too many friends, but these lovely girls mean the world to me, so you know I made a big deal out of this special day. You know, a little tea, a bit of a natter and a lovely long walk in the countryside - just how a good Sunday should be.

Sunday Evening: Taking Time Out for my Tutu

My little darlings, you might have guessed I love a bit of retail therapy! However, when it comes to tutus, especially the fabulous creations that I get to perform in, it's not all about quantity. It's about quality and longevity. It's all about caring for and preserving these beautiful, magical costumes! Well, on Sunday, after our long and delightful walk in the country, I gave each of my precious pink tutus the royal treatment. I can't get enough of that amazing pink tulle, sparkly, light, feminine fabrics! You know, when you have the pleasure of dressing up in beautiful things and performing - it’s almost like it makes the whole planet glow just that little bit more pink, even just for a little while!

This week's date in history - June 18th:

And guess what?! The perfect ballet dress debuted in Paris on June 18, 1830, in honor of the coronation of Charles X! It featured tulle and delicate white ruffles, and it set off the famous fashion trend for a much more feminine, flowing, and playful approach to ballet costuming!

*This week, my sweet lovelies, is all about embracing your inner ballerina, letting your creativity blossom, and always striving for a little bit of extra *pink in your world. So, dance like no one's watching (and don’t forget to tutu!).

Remember: I post my Pink Tutu World blog once a week, every Wednesday, on www.pink-tutu.com.

Stay gorgeous,

Emma
