Hello darlings! Emma here, your intergalactic fashionista extraordinaire, and this week's blog is coming to you straight from Planet Earth! I've just finished my first ballet class on this rather...well...green planet and I'm practically vibrating with excitement!
As many of you know, I'm on a mission to spread the pink tutu gospel across the cosmos and there's no better way to do it than to bring the sparkle to some of the more...down-to-earth corners of the universe.
Speaking of earth, this little planet's got a lot of things going for it, including its ballet scene. Honestly, you wouldn't believe the fabulous tutus these earthlings wear! Now, I know you all know my unwavering passion for a pink tutu, but there's something rather lovely about seeing how a traditional white tutu can be reinvented with a touch of elegance and modern flair. I took a peek at the local dance shops, and you wouldn't believe the fabrics they use! Organza, satin, chiffon, silk – I was positively overwhelmed.
Of course, I didn't leave without adding a little something pink to my collection! This time I treated myself to a magnificent tutu in a blush shade that wouldn't be out of place at the most exclusive ballet gala on Cygnus-7! It's a tad sparkly for a 'basic' earth class but, well, you can never be too overdressed, right?
As you all know, my travels are entirely funded by my performances. Here on Planet Earth, they've got these interesting things called "theatres". They're basically big, fancy halls where people go to watch plays and performances. You wouldn't believe the turnout! I had a full house tonight and, honestly, it was absolutely thrilling. Seeing so many faces lit up by the joy of dancing and music – well, it's the perfect tonic to even the most taxing intergalactic flight.
Speaking of tonic, after the performance I went shopping in this rather quaint town called 'Derby' (it’s quite near where I was born, actually… Der-by-shire. In England!). Derby's definitely got a sweet spot for vintage clothes, and it's so much fun rummaging through the racks. I managed to snag myself a beautiful, silky, teal scarf to complement my new blush tutu, and I can already envision the perfect pairing!
Before I end this post, I simply must mention something absolutely captivating I saw while out and about in Derby: they have this... "river". Honestly, you wouldn't believe it, it's filled with water! I was utterly mesmerized by the reflections of the houses and the bridges in the water – it was like being in a fairytale! Of course, my little intergalactic spaceship landed a safe distance away from the water's edge.
Right, well darlings, it’s time to set the alarm for my early morning flight back to Cygnus-7. I'm off to a fabulous, interstellar gala tomorrow night and I need a few more hours sleep to get my sparkle on.
