Pink Tutu World - Blog Post #749 - Ballet on Planet Earth: 2009-09-02

Oh darling, hello! It's Wednesday again, which means another fab blog post from your favourite intergalactic fashionista, Emma. I'm still buzzing from last week's cosmic jaunt, so prepare yourselves for a whirl through the starry skies and some totally amazing adventures in a tutu, of course!

Remember how I told you I was back on Planet Earth for a bit? Well, it was so good to be home, I can tell you. Nothing beats the Earth for its earthy glamour - the fresh air, the sound of the waves crashing on the shores...and don't even get me started on the divine cakes at the local patisserie! But even home, the travel bug bites. This time it was the chance to take in a fantastic show - The Sleeping Beauty at the Royal Opera House, London. You see, dear readers, I just adore a good ballet! The Sleeping Beauty is so beautifully classical, and oh the costumes! They were truly exquisite. It always makes my heart flutter to see how they blend modern fashion with traditional techniques - divine, I tell you!

After the performance, I had a most delightful tea with some old friends - I hadn't seen them since my last trip to the Andromeda Galaxy! - and we spent ages reminiscing about the old days at the Derbyshire ballet school. They were a riot, you know. Always in our pink tutus, doing our plies in the studio, dreaming of waltzing in the cosmic dust, giggling about our little adventures, just like… well, me. And it always does my heart good to go home and remember how it all began.

Talking of which, a few people have been asking about my latest fashion venture! I’ve launched a new line called "The Interstellar Tutu"! It’s a range of dazzling pink tutus inspired by all my incredible space voyages! The cosmic dust designs, the meteor shower prints... the fabric is out of this world, simply shimmering!

You’ll see it at the www.pink-tutu.com website in just a few weeks – I can’t wait for you all to see it!

I know you're all eager for a little peek behind the scenes of my intergalactic adventures, so here are some details on this trip's outfit:

I opted for a beautiful blush-pink tutu with delicate, shimmering sequins, inspired by a cosmic nebula, and layered it over a sleek, silver jumpsuit - it was so chic! A touch of celestial glitter splashed on my cheeks complimented the silver perfectly, and my trusty crystal-encrusted ballet pumps were de rigeur for some effortless elegance.

Oh, the travel tales! This time, my journey to Planet Earth was as fantastical as it ever gets! I landed my spaceship, The Starlight Ballet, at the majestic Buckingham Palace, where they were busy holding one of the Queen’s royal garden parties, no less! Now, I just have to find a way to integrate some tutu-themed royal garden party decor into my next interstellar design… Just think! Pink tutus, blooming flowers, sparkling jewels - it would be absolutely divine!

I decided to use this leg of the journey to brush up on my terrestrial etiquette and explore Earth's contemporary culture. You see, being a celestial wanderer can leave you out of touch with trends, you know! (Although let’s face it, a bit of star dust never goes amiss…)

So, I embarked on a whirlwind shopping spree through the hallowed halls of the Victoria & Albert Museum – a must-see for anyone who loves fashion history. Did you know that fashion has always been a source of inspiration for art, dance, and even intergalactic voyages?

Anyway, after I picked up some fabulous new additions to my space-tutu-wardrobe - more on those later - I got ready for an evening of opulent indulgence. London was all ablaze for Fashion Week - a spectacle of shimmering sequins, fabulous haute couture, and designers from all corners of the globe, and the most dazzling displays of fashion ingenuity.

I tell you, I have seen more sparkle in a single evening than in the entirety of the Milky Way.

There were fab shows - I’m particularly enamoured with the stunningly glamorous designs that blend a galactic aesthetic with chic, modern, earth-based fashion. If I can make the tutus look intergalactic and fabulous, so can Earth's most creative minds! You know I have a great intuition, it’s just as valid when it comes to spotting fabulousness as it is with finding the most decadent dessert shop!

After the Fashion Week soiree, I grabbed a posh dinner at one of the top restaurants – you must try their caviar and champagne – and made my way to one of the famous London theatre district – Covent Garden. What a divine night. The atmosphere crackled with electric excitement, there was a buzzing feeling in the air. It was fabulous! There was a street performer in full ballet costume and they started playing Tchaikovsky. What a classic, you know, it always takes me back to my first love...ballet! It just fills my heart with joy, this glorious art form...

Speaking of joy, how fabulous is it to share all this with you? And I tell you, I can't wait to hear all about your latest ballet exploits and fashionable adventures. Be sure to leave me a comment – I adore your fashion tips!

That's all for now my darlings.

See you next Wednesday for my latest blog post - maybe from the heart of the moon this time? Until then, I shall be spinning across the celestial tapestry in my divine, pink tutu!

Much love,

Emma x
