Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Blog Post #906 - A Stellar September SoirƩe

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, the sun is shining (well, sort of), and you know what that means… it's time for another installment of Pink Tutu World!

This week has been absolutely bursting with celestial glamour and a sprinkle of star-dust, all wrapped up in a pretty pink bow! It's been quite the whirlwind adventure, so grab a cuppa (with a splash of pink, of course) and let's dive right in.

Ballet in the Stars

We touched down on Planet Earth last Tuesday, the fifth of September. (Don't worry, I made sure to check the date before embarking on my voyage, one can't be too careful when travelling through the cosmos, you know!) As a ballet enthusiast, the date holds a special place in my heart. On September the 5th, 1929, the very first full-length ballet, "The Sleeping Beauty" was premiered. That’s quite the anniversary, isn't it?

Speaking of anniversaries, it was also exactly 35 years since "Footloose" swept across the nation. How could I let such a monumental milestone pass without a grand performance, dear readers? So, of course, I had to kick off my journey in none other than my dazzling custom-made pink tulle tutu.

Oh, you just have to imagine the scene! There we were, shimmering under the starry skies (that's the Milky Way in the background!), me, twirling and leaping in my pink tutu as I took on the iconic "Footloose" choreography with a celestial twist. The audience was starstruck (pun intended!), and let me tell you, they erupted with the loudest applause and cheers. They even gifted me a beautiful, shimmering moon-stone necklace, a stunning addition to my growing collection of space-themed jewels. It felt so right, almost like destiny, to perform on such a meaningful anniversary.

Celestial Fashionista

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, how do you manage to wear your tutus during all this intergalactic travel?" Well, I have a secret weapon, darling: it’s a custom-designed spacesuit that transforms into a breathtaking tulle creation! It’s the most ingenious piece of interplanetary couture! Imagine, dear readers, a sleek white jumpsuit with the softest silk material and the most flattering fit – and then, when you pull the lever at the hip, poof! It bursts open into a tutu with enough shimmer and sparkle to outshine even the brightest stars! It's truly a triumph of design, a beautiful testament to the power of fashion and creativity.

Speaking of fashion, I absolutely fell in love with the current planetary trends. Planet Earth has become quite the fashion destination! It seems there's a new style emerging on every street corner. The neon pink colour trend was all the rage! They call it ā€œmillennial pinkā€ on this planet, and I have to say, I absolutely love how vibrant and playful it is. Of course, the trend perfectly compliments my signature pink tutu. So naturally, I couldn’t resist a shopping spree in the heart of London. You've heard of a "pink tutu parade"? Well, you just saw it.

But enough about my sartorial exploits, it’s time for a quick dose of history, darling!

Ballet on the Earthly Stage

During my time on Planet Earth, I found myself in the delightful city of Nottingham, a place brimming with charm, historical buildings, and, most importantly for a ballerina, an incredible history of ballet! The oldest surviving ballet record in the UK dates all the way back to 1654 and depicts a lively dance, perfect for capturing a glimpse into the artistic movements of that era.

My next stop? The enchanting city of Derby, my home planet. You'll find me enjoying the charming markets and strolling through the historic Derby Arboretum. Of course, no trip back home would be complete without visiting Derby Theatre. It's one of the most beautiful places to experience the magical world of dance on Earth. With its Victorian architecture and stage brimming with talented dancers, it's a treat for the soul, darling. I always make sure to take a moment to admire their history in ballet. They've held several stunning ballet performances, including the timeless "Swan Lake."

After indulging in all the cultural and historical gems that Derbyshire offers, I'm already itching to head back out to the stars. Who knows what adventures await in the cosmic expanse? Stay tuned, dear readers!

Until next week, may your days be filled with the shimmer and sparkle of a thousand twirling pink tutus!

Love,

Emma
