Darling dears!
It's me, your favourite tutu-loving, pink-obsessed, space-travelling ballerina, Emma! Another Wednesday, another blog post, another glorious adventure to share. I've been back on Planet Earth for a few days now, and it's all just a bit… well… earthy, don't you think? But then, after spending a whirlwind of a week pirouetting through the cosmos, a little bit of down-to-earth (pun intended, darlings!) is exactly what the doctor ordered.
This week, I've been reminiscing over all the spectacular ballet happenings I witnessed during my interstellar travels. From the cosmic waltz of the nebulae in Andromeda to the moonlit pirouettes of the celestial dancers on Jupiter, it's been an absolute dream!
Oh, you want to know where I went exactly? You are so very attentive, thank you darling!
I ventured to the planet Atheria first, for a grand, celestial gala of astronomical proportions! Atheria was absolutely buzzing! Everyone was out in force - and I'm not talking just Atherian royalty, you know!
There were fashionably-clad cosmic entities, celestial singers in glorious technicolor outfits, and, most importantly, the tutu contingent! And you know what? It’s safe to say, I did my absolute best to represent us tutu wearers. Why, darling, the colour pink looked positively divine amongst all that stardust.
You’ve got to see these celestial tutus. I’m talking shimmery, nebulous designs, each one more magnificent than the next. They all move with a captivating rhythm as they swish through space. A bit like an intergalactic performance by Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris, except, it’s done by galactic bodies of all shapes and sizes! It’s absolutely fascinating! Just imagining how the Atheria's celestial designers create those tutus just boggles my mind!
Now, imagine this: We were surrounded by the light from millions of stars! It was jaw-droppingly beautiful! The atmosphere was electric and so glamorous! Everyone was dancing to a cosmic score orchestrated by some divine musical beings from the outer galaxies! I simply had to dance amongst the starlight and the stardust, dear reader, it felt almost surreal. And to top it all off? I got invited to the after-after-party on one of the moons of Atheria! Such divine creatures these Atheria. So glamorous!
Of course, darling, I'm not all about intergalactic events. There are some pretty spectacular ballets right here on Earth, so this week, after my interstellar adventure, I headed over to the beautiful, historic, Royal Opera House, in London, you see. I’ve seen shows at the Royal Opera House all my life. The history is incredible. So much creativity is generated there - so much to inspire a tutu lover such as myself.
I saw a truly fantastic production of Swan Lake, that timeless ballet. It’s always good for a few tears, darling, no? The story, the dancing, and the costumes. It's so enchanting and powerful and just simply wonderful. Swan Lake - the only ballet which has caused me to break my personal ‘no ballet crying’ rule on numerous occasions. This is truly a ballet you must see in your life, darling!
Speaking of seeing, there are some absolute gems for ballet lovers happening here in Derbyshire this very week. The local theatre in Matlock, for instance, is hosting the production of Giselle, an amazing classic, and just a few hours' drive from my family’s beautiful little village home! I'll be there this weekend, darling, enjoying the company of my family, watching my favourite ballerinas, and, well, I shall be having some gorgeous local treats - I’ll be telling you all about my Derbyshire food adventures on next week’s blog!
To finish this blog, I can’t tell you how excited I am to see what amazing new ballet adventures await me in the coming weeks. I shall be traveling once more by my glorious pink and gold spaceship ‘Tutu Galaxy’ and visiting exciting new planets to seek out the most incredible tutu outfits. Perhaps we’ll find some intergalactic ballet ‘pop-up shops’… who knows! The possibilities really are endless!
Remember to check in with my pink-tutu blog next week - and you can keep up with all my exciting ballet and space travel adventures by following my Instagram page, @PinkTutuWorld. Stay fabulous, darlings.
Yours in sequins, glitter and tutus! Emma xx
