Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth (Post #930)

Wednesday 20th February, 2013

Dearest readers,

Well, here I am back on Planet Earth after a truly fabulous whirlwind trip around the Andromeda galaxy. Can you believe it? Me, a Derbyshire girl, traipsing through the cosmos in my pink tutu! Let's just say, I caused a bit of a stir.

Speaking of stirs, my little cosmic ballet tour really did stir things up back home! Did you catch the headline in the Derby Telegraph last week? "Local Ballerina Brings Ballet to the Galaxy." Snort - how lovely! It really tickled my fancy. Turns out, my impromptu dance on the galactic stage with the Vega space-centaurs went viral across the interwebs! Imagine - me, a simple girl from a simple county, inspiring galactic dance-offs! Oh, darling, my head's practically in the clouds!

Before I regale you all with the wondrous details of my adventure, let's have a chat about this week's must-sees. I am absolutely swooning over the new Ballet Blanc collection at Maison du Tutu in Paris. They've got these exquisite tutus in shades of ivory, oyster, and pearl, absolutely perfect for a classic dance piece. And for a touch of something whimsical, I've been coveting the iridescent aurora borealis tutus from the Stellar Shine collection at Tutu Galactic on the moon.

Back on Planet Earth, I hear whispers of a new dance production hitting the stage at the Royal Opera House called "A Cosmic Ballet". I can barely contain myself - the rumours are flying that there's a scene featuring holographic dancers and a stunning galaxy backdrop! It's everything I dream of! If only my trusty spaceship, 'The Pink Swan', could zip me there instantaneously, I'd be practically vibrating with excitement. But alas, intergalactic travel has a hefty price tag (which I always seem to get caught in a pirouette and fall out of!)

But don't fret, my darlings! Before we go deep into the cosmic dance of my trip, I want to bring your attention to this Wednesday's delightful event. In the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, nestled among rolling hills and fields of lavender, we have the grand opening of the annual Derbyshire County Fair. Expect an abundance of homemade cakes, a bouncy castle fit for royalty (you'd never catch me without my tiara on that beast!), and a local talent show, of course! It's going to be a glorious day filled with pink delights, and of course, some slight tutuing! I might just show off a few graceful moves during the open air performance they've got planned!

Right, dear readers, now onto the adventures of 'The Pink Swan' and myself. I boarded 'The Pink Swan' (named after my ultimate tutu dream – a delicate, flowing masterpiece with the perfect shade of blush pink) for a thrilling journey to the nebulae of Andromeda. And let me tell you, it was one grand interstellar ballet! The galaxies twinkled around us like a symphony of stardust, each celestial body dancing in its own unique way. It felt like I'd stepped into one of those beautifully whimsical, old-fashioned space-travel posters that I collect - the ones with swirling nebulae and graceful spaceships with sleek lines and portholes for looking out. You'd think being in a spaceship travelling through the cosmos would mean it's all about practicality, but no, darling, the entire 'The Pink Swan' interior was crafted with elegant curves, the most fabulous crystal chandelier hanging in the middle (my personal touch, naturally!), and padded, velvet-lined seats - it was the most glamorous ship you could ever imagine!

Now, imagine my surprise when I popped in for a glass of space-lemonade with a side of astral cake in the ship’s onboard cafĂ©, to find... tutus. Yep, tutus! And not just any tutus. These were intergalactic tutus. Shiny and shimmery, bursting with nebulae-like patterns and constellations on them! The ones on sale came in every colour imaginable, from cerulean blue to a vibrant green that matched the Andromeda Galaxy’s signature green glow. I even saw a set of four matching ones, shimmering silver and midnight blue, all tucked away for an intergalactic family that needed a new look for their cosmic dance routine! Oh, it was just the most heavenly sight. And guess what? The whole intergalactic cafĂ© staff were dressed in tutus! And they had the best pirouettes and relevĂ©s. I knew then and there, I wasn’t going to just tour with my pink tutu and see intergalactic space, oh no, my purpose was now to convince every inhabitant of Andromeda to tutu-up. And that's exactly what I did.

Oh, the ballet we witnessed was astounding! We started in a glittering asteroid field, where we danced with crystal-winged pixies, who flew around us, their little bells jingling, leaving sparkling trails in the stardust. Their tutus were so adorable - little ruffled flounces and mini tutus with wings stitched on, and the tiniest sparkles imaginable. And they danced a whirl of pirouettes, gracefully soaring around, weaving through the cosmos with magical ease. It was breathtaking. And guess what? The pixies were wearing the tiniest, but most exquisite pink ballet shoes! You can imagine the utter glee it gave me!

We then whisked over to the purple planet of Vexus, where we met a troop of purple-hued aliens who performed the most remarkable synchronized dance routines I’d ever witnessed. They were so graceful, it was like they’d mastered the dance floor since they first came to existence, and wore these exquisite tutus with swirling nebulae designs – a vibrant cosmic masterpiece! We all did a little “intergalactic circle”, which just filled me with the most divine joy. Then the party moved onto an impossibly-blue planet called Zephyra. Here we were surrounded by these sleek, elegant creatures called "Sols". They had such poise - they wore the most fabulous silver, space-age tutus that flowed as if they were gliding on clouds. They invited me up to their crystal dance palace, with walls that seemed to change color with every beat of my heart! They served me the most refreshing cosmic fruit punch, infused with the most wonderful celestial fruit! Oh my word - the taste was out of this world! We ended the night by dancing on a planet called Solaria – a truly spectacular planet covered with diamond beaches, luminous clouds and waterfalls made of glowing nebulas - all whilst they played my favourite space-funk band from Lyra's Comet, the Galaxy Glams. The night ended with all of us dancing, tutu-to-tutu, to the music, while shooting off fireworks! It was the perfect end to a truly astronomical tour!

Back on Planet Earth, the 'The Pink Swan' is getting its annual interstellar MOT (to make sure we're ship shape for our next tour!). In the meantime, I've got plenty of dancing to do right here on this planet.

I am looking forward to getting back on 'The Pink Swan', and sharing with you all my adventures of this coming trip to ... well that's a surprise for another time! But for now, I’ll leave you all with a tiny hint - my next stop is something
 cosmic
 with something.. shimmery

As always, stay twirling my little pink tutu wearers, and may your days be filled with lots of pink joy!

Until next Wednesday,

Emma x
