Welcome to Pink Tutu World!
Hello darling, how are you today? This week’s post is brought to you live from…well, wherever my space-ship has landed!
I do love those long haul flights across the Milky Way - just me, my tutu, a pot of tea, and the constellations zipping past my windows.
This week’s journey is all about a very special place - Planet Earth, a real gem of a location nestled amongst the other planets! My spaceship landed at 11 am Earth time, and you wouldn't believe the excitement on this beautiful planet!
Let me tell you, this place is full of fabulous people, with the most brilliant style! Earthlings certainly know how to dress and it was amazing to soak up all the latest fashions! And did I mention the dancing?
Speaking of fabulousness, can you believe the date? 11th September 2013? Yes, my lovelies, this date is full of significance in Earth’s history. Can you feel it in the air? This was the date a beautiful little group of us Earthlings, the Derbyshire Dolls, took to the stage in an extraordinarily fabulous production of the ever-popular ballet, "Swan Lake!" You guys know how much I adore the ballet, so of course, it was an absolute joy to be in a show again and see the excitement on everyone’s faces - pure magic!
If you ever get a chance to visit Earth, check out Derbyshire! They do ballet so beautifully.
But anyway, before I get side-tracked with the glories of Earthly ballet, let's delve into today’s adventures!
Fashion - Ooh la la!
When I stepped onto Earth, the streets were buzzing with a delightful cacophony of sounds, colours, and people – Earth is really vibrant! Of course, my first stop was a shop, "Forever 21," to get myself some new threads - what else could I do, darling? They have some wonderful clothes on this planet!
Then it was off to a delightful little shop with "Liberty" on the front - I know, how exciting, such an elegant and sophisticated place! My spaceship just could not travel far enough when it comes to fabulousness, and as luck would have it, the dress I was after for a big gala this weekend was in the sale. Isn’t that so divine?
It's important to me, darling, to look and feel my absolute best at all times, even when I'm on another planet, because that’s how you attract everyone in the universe to your cause. That’s right, darling - everyone in the universe in pink tutus, don’t you dare even try to argue with me about it, darling!
Dancing, Darling, Dancing!
The highlight of the trip was visiting the magnificent "Royal Opera House" in the centre of this little place called "London" on this incredible, magnificent planet! The "Royal Ballet" took to the stage this evening, performing a stunning rendition of a favourite of mine - "Romeo and Juliet."
My goodness me! It was absolutely exquisite darling, it moved me to my very core. That Earthly Romeo was a true vision in his "street wear" as they call it on this planet - not exactly my preferred sartorial choice - but he was a truly captivating dancer. I even went backstage and, just to confirm my feelings about Earthly ballet, gave him a personal ballet lesson about how a pink tutu really elevates a performance. After that, I can definitely see the pink tutu future!
You know, I absolutely adore these ballet performances on Planet Earth!
Their "theater" venues are so much more magnificent than those spaceships they use for performances out in space. But, let’s be fair, spaceships have a lot less seating! That said, I always encourage Earthlings to make the most of space. It was only through watching "ballet street performances" and seeing these extraordinary street dancers, that I discovered Earth.
The Earthly "street dance" tradition, or "ballet street" as they call it, has just captivated me from day one! It’s a brilliant and completely unexpected dance tradition where artists literally get in touch with their natural environment, using the earth itself to express their creativity and individuality. I am going to make sure to add the name "Street" to the history of tutu design and the tutu "streets" where my fellow pink tutus roam.
I am completely blown away by these passionate people and, frankly, my tutu's dancing in sync with their tutus right now! I'm also completely obsessed with Earthly "Ballet history" on Earth – so fascinating! Imagine all those years of people gathering, getting together and performing a new, vibrant way of storytelling - ballet's been around for so long - well done, Earth!
So darling, do you know what I’ve decided? I'm going to make sure all my friends across the Milky Way get on board the Pink Tutu movement! There’s a pink tutu waiting for every last one of them - that’s how sure I am about it! And as they all waltz around in pink, the whole universe is sure to go Pink Tutu crazy! The fact they already wear white on Earth? It is so last season! This is what the future of tutus looks like darling. This is the era of pink!
Speaking of Pink, if you’d like to have a chance at winning one of my beautiful, personally signed Pink tutus, do come along to www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday to read my blog post - you never know, you might even be this week’s winner. I am sure this time next week I’ll have all kinds of pink tutu tales to tell from Planet Earth. What adventures do you think I’ll have next? Do leave me a message below!
See you next week!

Hello darling! I’m Emma, a pink tutu wearing blogger from a little town in Derbyshire. If you haven’t realised by now, I just love pink. So you'd probably not be surprised to learn that my love for the colour extends to clothes and - my most favorite thing - ballet tutus! My blog follows me on my adventures across the Universe, where I go to fabulous events, indulge in amazing new fashion trends, learn everything I can about ballet history and, most importantly, try to inspire everyone I meet to adopt a Pink Tutu in their life. I mean, why shouldn’t everyone love pink? If they don’t they haven’t realised how glorious the colour is - maybe it's time for me to teach them. So don't worry if you don’t love it right now - just give it time!
