Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Post #988 – A Galactic Ballet Extravaganza!

Helloooo darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, your one-stop shop for all things fabulous, feminine and… well, pink, of course! I'm your girl Emma, and today, as per usual, it's Wednesday and we're on Planet Earth! So grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let me spill the tea (and pink glitter, obviously!) on what I've been up to this week.

Oh, darling, let me tell you, this week has been absolutely extra! Buckle up your tutus because we’re about to take a cosmic trip. You see, last week I left the sparkly world of Cygnus Prime after a rather breathtaking performance of "The Swan Lake," complete with a stunning pink finale. It seems everyone even on a faraway galaxy loves a bit of colour! My celestial tour is a whirlwind of intergalactic travelling, breathtaking performances, and some seriously chic shopping – because darling, a ballerina never lets her cosmic wardrobe lag behind!

This week I was fortunate enough to return to Planet Earth – where else, my loves? – on a most auspicious day indeed: the 2nd of April, 2014! For all you ballet lovers out there, you'll know that this date was simply bursting with historical ballet goodness! On this very day in 1844, the Royal Opera House, London – oh, what a magnificent theatre! – opened its doors to the world. Can you believe it? That magnificent, grand stage has seen the very best of ballet for nearly two hundred years! Honestly, the history of ballet just fascinates me. It’s so elegant, so inspiring, so… pink.

Oh! I’m so sorry, I’m getting carried away. As I said, the 2nd of April is just brimming with ballet history. It’s also the birthday of famous English ballerina Margot Fonteyn – her artistry and graceful elegance are legendary. Imagine my joy! All this magnificent ballet history, all wrapped up in one gorgeous day. It truly felt like destiny led me back to Earth!

Anyway, I made sure I got to visit the Royal Opera House the minute my ship landed – it felt only right to pay a little visit to a piece of ballet history, don't you think? And darling, the Covent Garden building was even more impressive in person – towering over the bustling street like a beautiful monument to art. The whole atmosphere just exuded elegance and class, with people from all walks of life enjoying the delights of a show and a delicious afternoon tea (of course, I managed to squeeze in a scrumptious Pink Flamingo cocktail too! Nothing is quite as nice as a perfectly blended cocktail after a long trip – I’ve found, though, it’s always good to get an extra little umbrella on my drink… you never know, darling, I may bump into a prince on my travels!)

And, oh, the shops! I tell you, darling, I'm starting to think there's an intergalactic network for ballet shoes because London just has the most extraordinary shops! As if by magic, every single one was brimming with perfectly adorable ballerina-worthy accessories: exquisite tutu's – just the kind I live for, darling, just the right shade of blush and peach. They just make me swoon, honestly! My pockets were screaming for more, but you can never have too many tutus. Why else would I call it "Pink Tutu World", eh?

The real treat, however, came at the ballet itself! Darling, my dear loves, "Giselle" was divine. Imagine! An incredible performance from a talented ensemble that brought the story to life. The graceful movements, the breathtaking choreography, and the sheer raw passion – all wrapped up in the classic, timeless story that just swept me away. But you know what else swept me away? It was that fabulous pink tutu that the lead ballerina was wearing - you see, I always feel like the real stars are the designers who craft those gorgeous, beautiful, showstopping outfits! I made sure I took a few snaps – those shoes were fabulous! I love how the pink of the tutus complemented the setting. Such grace!

This week in London has made me think, darlings, about why I’ve always felt so connected to this beautiful planet. I mean, there’s the British culture, it's such a thing, you know? There's so much charm and wit, it just makes me laugh every time. You could practically wear pink from your head to your toes in London and nobody would bat an eye (of course, I wear a tutu at every opportunity)! And, most importantly, the whole city embraces the performing arts. From the Covent Garden theatre, to the West End, London really is the heartbeat of performance! And did I mention that there’s a place for pink everything in the city?! It’s a girl’s paradise! The atmosphere here feels like magic. I feel at home, surrounded by history, beauty, and inspiration. It just fills me with that joy-filled sparkle!

Okay, now to move on to other exciting things! There's one more thing I want to share with you, darling – because it involves you and your love of tutus! Remember how I mentioned about a cosmic fashion network – there's one even bigger, and we're starting here on Earth! It's called Pink Tutu World, and its purpose is simple: it's an online community where we share our love of all things fabulous, girly, and, well, pink! My dream is to have a beautiful global community that brings a bit of joy to everyone who wants it – so let’s start by joining this wonderful, beautiful, bright pink family and create something utterly magical, just like that tutus I wear!

My dear loves, if you are here for pink, for dance, for fun, join me on www.pink-tutu.com - we’re launching a fantastic Pink Tutu Challenge this coming month – where I need every single one of you to share your love for all things fabulous by posting photos of yourselves wearing the most delightful, exquisite, colourful, wonderful pink tutu that you have! Just don’t forget that fabulous pink-tinged sparkle in your eye, that little shimmer that says – this is pink-tutu-fabulousness! And we can get those who’ve never even tried on a tutu in their lives - and have a good giggle with it! We’ll post all the fun pictures on the site, we'll have fun, we'll laugh and dance! This is Pink Tutu World after all! What could be more delightful?

So, I bid you a happy dance – well, you could always twirl along to your favourite ballet piece! And remember – stay tuned, my dear loves, because there’s still so much more coming. In the meantime, you can keep up with my adventures here every week. It's Wednesday, which means it's another fabulous day for Pink Tutu World!

Catch you next week darlings! Until then, keep dancing!

Emma x
