Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Blog Post #1001

Hello my darling darlings! It's Emma, your pink tutu wearing, space-faring, ballet-obsessed friend, bringing you the latest from Planet Earth, specifically from the lovely town of Bakewell in Derbyshire, England where I was born! It’s Wednesday, July 2nd 2014, and you know what that means... time for a brand new Pink Tutu World blog post! 🩰

This week's post is extra special as it's blog post number 1001! Wow, a thousand posts from a little pink tutu wearing ballerina, who’d have thought?! I’m sure there'll be more to come.

Oh, and for the newbies who just happened to land on this blog today, welcome! You'll quickly discover that this blog is all about pink tutus, ballet, and of course, me! You might have spotted me in one of my favourite spots – The Royal Opera House, The Bolshoi Theatre, The Sydney Opera House… yes, I'm quite the globe-trotter. Don't worry though, my loyal readership, my trusty spaceship "Twinkle Toes" takes me all over the universe to chase the best ballet shows. (But of course, sometimes I also need to dip back to planet Earth to refill the pink tutu supplies at my favourite boutique. It's very important, you know!).

So what have I been up to this week? Let me tell you… it’s been a whirl! 🌪️

A Ballet Odyssey at the English National Ballet

You guys know I have a bit of a thing for classic ballets and there’s nothing more captivating than a story brought to life by graceful dancers. This week I flew my sparkly little spaceship "Twinkle Toes" over to London and snagged a seat in the Royal Opera House to see the English National Ballet perform Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet “Swan Lake”. And boy oh boy, was it absolutely breathtaking! From the first fluttering swan feathers of the majestic “Black Swan” to the delicate lightness of the white swans, the story was absolutely captivating, just as I had imagined it to be. 🦢🖤🤍

This whole performance transported me to a whole other realm! It made me realise that ballet truly is a form of art that speaks a language understood by everyone, no matter which corner of the universe you are from. 🌎 As always, it reminded me why I became a ballerina, to spread that joy of movement and storytelling with everyone. Even though I travelled across the galaxy for this performance, I'm sure that the impact of seeing the ballet touched every one of the audience, even the grumpy, grumpy grumpy old man seated behind me who refused to clap at the end. Oh well, there’s always one in the crowd isn’t there? (He looked kind of like a grumpy frog, to be fair.🐸)

Back to my Roots: Derbyshire!

After my visit to London and its lovely, majestic ballet scenes, it was back home to Bakewell, Derbyshire. I always say there is no place like home, although it did get rather cold this week, especially coming from the warm galactic plains. I have to admit, when I got off my ship it was definitely time to grab my winter coat! 🥶

Anyway, after an enjoyable visit with my mum, I made a detour to Bakewell's famous “The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop”! A girl needs to eat! It was an experience like no other – imagine the sweet scent of freshly baked almond pastry filling the air, a symphony of sugar and sweetness. A wonderful welcome back after my adventure. You must try their almond tarts if you are ever here, but honestly anything in that bakery is pure happiness! 🤤

Keeping the Pink Tutu World on a Positive Trajectory!

You see my dearest darlings, this is all about more than just the tutus! My spaceship might be full of pink tutus, but this blog is a reflection of how life is a joyful adventure that can be enjoyed by every creature. So much fun to be had out there! Just get your space suit, spaceship and most importantly your PINK TUTU (even if it doesn't have sparkles, a little splash of colour goes a long way, and makes the whole experience a whole lot better) and then just launch yourself into it! 💕 I know I am!

This blog wouldn’t be what it is without each and every one of you, whether you're on Earth or another planet.

So join me next Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com for another dose of ballet, travel, tutus, and more. Don’t forget to comment on the blog too - let me know what you’re up to! You’ll find all the ways to connect with me on the sidebar of this blog, where I also keep all the links to the dance and tutu shops that are my all-time favourite spots. You never know what treats might be found there. 🩰💫

Till next Wednesday, stay pink and keep your twirls tight!

Emma 💕
