Hello my darling darlings!
It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! This week, I'm back on Planet Earth, and oh my goodness, what a trip I've had! But first, a little about the fabulous me.
You know me, Emma, the tutu-clad, pink-loving space explorer! I spend my days travelling across the galaxy in my super shiny spaceship, spreading the joy of ballet, fashion and of course, PINK! Every Wednesday I take a little break from my intergalactic adventures and update my earthling blog. I get my finances through a combination of interplanetary ballet performances and the odd (rather large) inheritance, so you know I have impeccable taste! I mean, it’s got to pay for all this fashion, right?
This time I've just come from a truly dazzling trip to a few different planetary ballet shows. I saw a spectacular production of "Swan Lake" on Neptune, where they used bioluminescent creatures to create the most breathtaking set design, and a really inventive take on "Coppelia" on Mercury, with the dancers wearing mirrored costumes reflecting the incredible sun glare. I'm not one to say, but I've never been so inspired to bust out some new choreo!
So back to this little planet Earth! My darling aunt Beatrice lives here and she insisted I came back for a few weeks, to do the traditional Earthly 'summer holiday thing'. ☀️ She says all humans need a bit of Vitamin D - which sounds like something you'd only need on a far off sunbaked asteroid, but here we are. My trip coincided perfectly with the fabulous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This was definitely worth the visit, with an endless variety of street performers, comedy acts and theatrical shows – so many things that give me new ideas for my Pink Tutu World Dance Troupe. 🩰 I saw some pretty incredible things - you know me, anything that inspires and encourages me to wear a pink tutu is my jam. But as much as I loved the Edinburgh Fringe, there’s a little something special about Planet Earth's classic theatre scene, don't you think?
Now I'm just back from an enchanting evening at the Royal Opera House in London! Yes! It's August 26th - the day I decided to delve back into ballet on this glorious little rock! It was an exquisite production of "Giselle". There was a magnificent pas de deux - full of graceful elegance and thrilling emotion - it literally brought a tear to my eye (a sparkly, pink tear of course, because I don’t do boring tears here at Pink Tutu World!) The costume designers have really outdone themselves; they managed to perfectly capture the essence of romantic ballet in the Victorian era with intricate tutus made of soft silks and chiffons and exquisite velvet bodices that made the dancers look as if they were floating!
Now, I might be a bit of an intergalactic ballerina, but you’ll find that even a space princess loves a little retail therapy. After my little sojourn at the Royal Opera House, I indulged in a bit of shopping - it is a tradition after all, right? I found some divine new tutus and an incredibly stylish pink evening gown with matching shoes. After all, a girl has got to look amazing when she's out dancing in the universe, right? 👠
Now for the most exciting news of the week. I’ve been pondering the perfect name for my new line of intergalactic space tutus, inspired by my journeys across the galaxy! I'm thinking “Cosmic Ballerina” sounds just the ticket, don't you agree? But of course, I’m always up for suggestions, so do feel free to drop me a line, my little cherubs! I just know that soon all those glamorous space-ladies and the cosmic chaps will be twirling about in their Cosmic Ballerina tutus, which of course will all be pink. 😉
So as my little visit to Planet Earth is drawing to a close, I thought I’d leave you with a little nugget of ballet wisdom from the archives:
*"The more you practise the better you get - there’s no other way!" *
Words to live by my darlings, especially when your dream is to take the entire universe by storm, in a pink tutu, naturally. 💕✨
Stay fabulous,
Emma.
