Pink Tutu World: Blog Post #1096 - Ballet on Planet Earth (2016-04-27)

Hello my darling darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-obsessed, intergalactic ballerina, Emma, here with another cosmically chic post from planet Earth!

Can you believe it's Wednesday again already? This week absolutely whizzed by in a blur of ballet classes, costume fittings, and a seriously fabulous show last night. I'm currently sipping my chamomile tea, enjoying the glorious spring sunshine streaming in through the window, and catching up on all things ballet.

Speaking of ballet… I simply HAVE to tell you about the phenomenal performance I saw at the Royal Opera House last night. It was The Sleeping Beauty - a classic! The costumes were simply exquisite (a touch too much white tulle for my liking, but they did make for some truly dramatic swirling!). I practically gasped at the exquisite hand-painted backdrops - you just don’t get that level of craftsmanship these days!

Speaking of craftsmanship... Did you know that the original Sleeping Beauty was commissioned by Tsar Alexander II, and it premiered in 1890 in Saint Petersburg, Russia?! Honestly, some of the grand balls from the Romanov era just screamed "tutu opportunity"! Imagine how fabulous the tutus would have been if it were up to me! It’s hard to resist imagining them with more oomph in a magnificent pink...

I mean, tutus aren't just about fashion - they are about history, culture, artistry... The very soul of ballet! A tutu says it all. It whispers of grace, dreams, and the pure joy of dance. So naturally, when it comes to designing the outfits for my own galactic ballet shows, a tutu is always at the heart of it. Pink, of course. Always pink!

Speaking of the galactic ballet… My journey to planet Earth was, as usual, utterly dazzling. The starflight over the English countryside was stunning - rolling hills of vibrant green dotted with tiny villages like scattered jewels. Then there's Derbyshire, my lovely home, which was just breathtaking in its springtime glory. I can practically smell the scent of daffodils and freshly cut grass! (Maybe that’s what makes my afternoon chamomile tea so delicious! It definitely wouldn't taste the same without those beautiful earthy notes. šŸ˜‰)

Speaking of my afternoon… I’m off to my favourite tea shop, you know the one – ā€œThe Pink Petalā€ in the charming old market square in Derby! I always love a good gossip and tea, and this afternoon I have a date with the lovely Mrs. Hampton, a truly remarkable woman with a passion for antique ballet shoes. Can you imagine, my dears! Such history and beauty preserved. She even has a stunning collection of hand-sewn slippers from the late Victorian era. The intricacy, the colours, the meticulous detail... it’s enough to inspire any tutu-lover!

On that note… I absolutely must dash! I'm due to meet with my dressmaker this evening to go over designs for the new collection of Pink Tutu World dresses - inspired by, yes, you guessed it…the dazzling Sleeping Beauty tutus and my favourite Romanov ball gowns!

To a spectacular week full of dreams, dance, and lots of pink! Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday to follow my adventures!

Until next time,

Emma šŸ’‹šŸŒøāœØ
