Hello darling tutu-lovers! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, 7th September, 2016, and guess what? Emma's back in her usual spot - planet Earth - after another whirlwind adventure amongst the stars.
I have to tell you all, darlings, this trip has left me feeling a tad... well, frankly, pink with excitement! But more about that later.
Firstly, let's take a quick trip down memory lane, back to the ol' UK and Derbyshire, shall we? Now, I know I say this every week, but isn't Derbyshire simply the most glorious spot for ballet inspiration? Those rolling hills just beckon you to twirl, and those picturesque villages scream 'tutues! tutues! tutues!' Don't you agree?
This week, my dear tutu enthusiasts, I found myself captivated by the magic of The Nutcracker. I know, I know, a classic, but you can never get enough of a ballet so timeless and utterly enchanting. My favourite scene? The Land of Sweets, naturally! Oh, those colours! The lavishness of the Sugar Plum Fairy's costume - a glorious explosion of pink and silver! She looked simply divine, like a true Sugar Plum Queen, if you ask me.
Oh, the ballet world here on earth is alive with so much talent! Every day feels like a ballet gala! I’ve spent the last few weeks swirling around London, exploring the bustling streets, popping into vintage shops and sipping tea at delightful little cafes - my life just wouldn't be the same without a bit of posh British tradition, right?
Speaking of posh, have you seen the new ballerina boutique in Notting Hill? They're selling a tutu with actual feathers from a peacock! Peacock! My darlings, I almost swooned! It was simply heavenly. But you know me, I'm all about affordability. So, as you know, I ended up with a beautiful pink tutu from a tiny, but lovely, local shop. Let’s just say my ballet closet is looking fuller than ever.
But hold on, because things are about to get seriously galactic here at Pink Tutu World!
Remember my spaceship, "The Pink Stargazer?" Oh yes, that pink beauty whisked me away to planet Cygnus-7 last week! You won’t believe it - the planet is all shimmery silver with these iridescent waterfalls that sparkle in every colour of the rainbow. Talk about a dancer's paradise!
Naturally, my ballet routine commenced the moment we arrived. You know me! Tutu on, hair in a perfect bun, and pirouette, twirl, and grand jeté all across the celestial stage! My goodness, the whole galaxy watched!
Imagine - pink tutu and intergalactic ballet! Now, you might ask, how did they react to a pink tutu on a silver planet? Honestly, it was just glorious. They were transfixed! I even managed to get the Cygnusians to try on a tutu or two. Some looked quite dashing, even if I say so myself. They even let me wear one of their exquisite gowns for a performance.
Did you know, dear friends, that ballet has quite the fan club in Cygnus-7? And wouldn't you know it, it was a fashionista-driven explosion of pink tutus. I know, incredible right? I have never seen so many tutu styles - some shimmering, some glittery, others featuring celestial sequins and celestial gemstones! Talk about inspiration, dear friends, my wardrobe could be filled with the gorgeous styles I saw!
Speaking of inspiration, darlings, I’m going to leave you with a bit of intergalactic fashion inspiration, a touch of planet earth fashion advice, and some food for thought about the extraordinary universe of ballet!
Outfit of the Week:
My favourite piece this week is a delicate pink tutu that shimmered under the starry light of Cygnus-7. It’s made from an array of delicate fabrics – you see, those Cygnusians are really good at blending the shimmery colours and textures! Imagine a tutu so delicate, it practically dances on its own. Oh, to have that skill!

Whether you’re taking classes, dancing under the lights, or enjoying the shows on planet Earth, let your imagination take flight. There is so much inspiration all around us, so keep your eyes peeled for anything that makes you want to pirouette and spin. It’s in these little things that we find true joy and true tutus, darlings!
Tutu Tip:
Let’s get back to those fabulous local boutiques in London. I know it’s easy to get lost in those gorgeous department stores and world-class shops, but don't forget to check out the little treasures tucked away on those bustling backstreets. I’m not saying it will be all glitter and sparkle (though it might be!), but you’re guaranteed a delightful treasure hunt for beautiful vintage or even new and quirky styles! Remember: you don't have to spend a fortune to have fabulous style! And, oh, just think about the memories!
