Darling dears! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, so it's time for another week of sparkly adventures from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, space-travelling ballerina blogger!
This week, I'm back on dear old Planet Earth. I know, I know, I said last week I wouldn't be back so soon, but I just couldn't resist! You see, my darling, a ballet-obsessed girl simply cannot turn down a trip to London for the Royal Ballet's production of Giselle. Oh, the costumes, the choreography, the stories, the romance - my heart is just bursting!
Now, before I go on about Giselle (let's be honest, I could rave about this masterpiece for hours), let's talk about my travels this week!
Oh, the glamour! I'm currently perched on a rather chic velvet chaise longue in the exquisite ballroom of The Ritz hotel. You know me, darlings, I always try to make a statement. This trip, I opted for a beautiful pink sequined tulle tutu (obviously!) paired with a silk bodice and a pair of exquisite silver stiletto heels. It was just the right touch of sophistication for a night at The Ritz.
The journey to London was just heavenly! My trusty spaceship, The Ballerina, gracefully flew through the atmosphere, leaving a sparkling trail of pink stardust in its wake. I, of course, spent the flight with a cuppa (always with a splash of milk and two sugars, darling!), a juicy magazine and a spot of ballet training, you know, just to keep those legs in top shape!
Landing back on dear old Planet Earth always feels a bit like coming home. It's strange, but no matter how many planets I visit, there's something special about this one. The sights, the smells, the sounds! It's always an exciting adventure to revisit!
So, darling, about that Giselle production… it was utterly divine! From the very first note of the orchestra, I was completely transported. The Royal Ballet's performance was stunning! The dancers' grace, the power of their movements, the sheer artistry! The whole performance was a perfect blend of elegance and passion, telling the timeless story of love, loss and betrayal. The final scene, oh darling, it just brought tears to my eyes! I confess I felt a little jealous of the lead ballerina, the way the prince just adored her!
And the costumes! Divine! It’s impossible not to be captivated by the ethereal beauty of Giselle’s flowing white gown and the delicate lightness of the Wilis' tutus. They really embody the ethereal and haunting nature of the ballet, and truly add to the magic of the performance! Honestly, my love for tutus was even more intense after this production!
I couldn't resist a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to indulge my passion for all things vintage ballet! My dear, the costume collection is exquisite! You can practically smell the scent of past performances and hear the whispers of the ballerinas as you stroll through the halls. They have an extensive collection of tutus and shoes from the Victorian era right through to the modern day. I almost died when I saw the original tutu designed by Marius Petipa for The Sleeping Beauty! Just breathtaking.
But of course, it's not just about ballet, darling! London, as always, proved to be a fashion haven. I just had to pick up a few must-have items, like a pink lace dress from Liberty London and a pair of glittering ballet flats from Sophia Webster! They'll look amazing with my favourite tutus.
Oh! Before I forget! I had to make a pit stop at Covent Garden, just to soak up the atmosphere, and naturally, to indulge in some yummy treats. The flower market was positively delightful, and I picked up a beautiful pink rose, because let’s be honest, darling, a girl just can't have enough pink in her life!
Of course, after a busy few days of culture and shopping, I was utterly exhausted. But you know me, darlings! My days of sleep-ins are over, it's time to dance! So I headed back to my beloved Derbyshire for a proper British afternoon tea and a spot of dancing! The sunshine streamed through the windows of the dance studio and the tinkling sound of the piano was absolutely perfect. There's something about that rhythmic sound that makes me feel so at peace. Honestly, a ballerina's life is quite idyllic sometimes! The rhythm of life seems to find a place to settle within your soul. I wouldn't want it any other way!
And speaking of rhythm, I simply can’t leave you without sharing a little something about this week's musical inspiration. I am totally in love with the gorgeous "Sugar" by Robin Schulz feat. Francesco Yates. It's the perfect tune for a bubbly, carefree waltz! It’s already become a staple in my dance playlist and is guaranteed to lift my spirits whenever I listen to it. You can hear it on my Pink Tutu playlist over on www.pink-tutu.com. You’ll be surprised what inspiring music is out there!
You know, my dears, I simply have to get everyone wearing a pink tutu! I really believe that a bit of pink and twirling magic can make the whole universe a more fabulous place! It's time for all of us to embrace our inner ballerinas! It's time for Pink Tutu Revolution!
That’s all for now, darlings! But remember, be sure to keep a lookout on my blog www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for more cosmic adventures. I promise, each week, you'll be whisked away on an exciting adventure filled with pink tutus, amazing ballet experiences and, of course, fabulous outfits!
And until then, remember:
Keep twirling, stay sparkly, and always embrace the pink!
Lots of love,
Emma
