Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! This week, we’re back on good old Planet Earth, where, after all, my heart always lies, no matter how far I’ve travelled in the cosmos.
You see, this is the week I try to remember the little things – a comforting cuppa (always with a dash of pink milk!), the crisp fresh air of my Derbyshire countryside home, the warmth of a good gossip with my Mum (did I mention my Mum loves tutus as much as me? No? Well, now you know!). And then, of course, there's ballet. Ah, ballet!
And oh, the excitement! I’m currently writing to you with my trusty cosmic keyboard perched on my pink and gold velvet chaise lounge in the hotel suite, in the heart of London town. Why London, you ask? Well, it's the day of the Royal Ballet’s ‘Swan Lake’ performance! It's a treat I absolutely had to indulge in! And after that, it's the National Gallery - think Renaissance, think divine tutus! The perfect combination!
Of course, the whole experience wasn't a mere spur-of-the-moment trip. Oh no, darling, it was planned to the last sequin!
It all started a while back. After a whirlwind tour of the Andromeda galaxy (more on that in another post!), I had the privilege of giving a little ballet recital for the friendly inhabitants of Planet Zorp. My costume, I must say, was simply fabulous – a dazzling holographic tulle confection, perfect for galactic ballet dancing. It turned out to be a smashing success, and earned me enough interstellar space credits to return to dear old Planet Earth.
Back to our Earthly pursuits! Did I tell you about my new dress? It arrived this morning, hot off the couture line in Paris. Think champagne pink with just the tiniest touch of iridescent sequins…and of course, a generous sweep of the most sumptuous tulle. Oh darling, it is DIVINE! (A little more on that in my ‘What I Wore’ section at the end, I promise!).
Now, I simply can’t begin to explain the sheer thrill of seeing ‘Swan Lake’ on the hallowed stage of the Royal Opera House! Those feathered costumes… the delicate, elegant choreography, the soaring notes of the music…and the stunning artistry of the dancers… sigh My eyes filled with tears. (Don’t judge me, darling! Sometimes even a fabulous pink-tutu-loving interstellar ballerina like myself just has to let it all out!)
After the show, I decided to treat myself to a spot of shopping at Harrods, in my gorgeous, glittery pink flats, because you know me… what’s a visit to Planet Earth without a little retail therapy? I found some divine shoes and a new pink ballet bag to match my dress! Oh, the colour, darling! I am obsessed with the colour pink! I have a closet of every imaginable shade and I’m not even slightly embarrassed to admit it!
Now, I know you're all wondering about my travels – how do I make it all happen? How can a fabulous pink-tutu-wearing ballerina from Derbyshire possibly fund all these spectacular adventures?
Well, the answer, darling, is simpler than you might think. You see, ballet, for me, isn't just a passion – it’s also my livelihood. You see, on days when I'm not zipping across the galaxy on my spaceship, I put on my pinkest, glitziest tutus and I dance! In theatres, in the streets, at fundraising galas, at workshops for children! The most fabulous feeling? Performing and watching their eyes light up as they hear the stories behind those magnificent, beautiful tutus! Every penny I make from those performances fuels my journey – and every new outfit I get helps spread the good word about tutus!
And oh my gosh, darling, I have an idea. How about we turn Planet Earth into one big, glittery, fabulous pink-tutu ballet dance extravaganza?! It’s not so far fetched really, because let’s be honest, there’s a hidden ballerina in each of us! We just need to get those tutus on! What do you say, my little pink-tutu loves? Shall we get to work?!
Remember: pink tutus aren’t just about dancing; they’re about believing in your dreams, and bringing a little bit of sparkle to the world! I've got plenty more stories about space, style, and tutus lined up for you all, but I’ll let you enjoy this post, darlings. Have a fabulous rest of the week, and don't forget to embrace your inner tutu queen!
Pink Kisses, Emma
What I Wore:
- A custom-made, shimmering champagne pink gown by my favourite designer, Mademoiselle Claire of Paris. Oh my god, darling, this dress has been meticulously handcrafted in soft, delicate silk and has been embellished with a luxurious swirl of pink tulle
- My sparkly pink ballet flats (and, of course, they have matching pink ribbons) – they really are the perfect pink shoes! And because we always must think in pink, I added my delicate, iridescent pink necklace and bracelet with my pink diamond earrings. Oh darling, you simply must check out these pink accessories, if you love the color pink as much as me! You will find them in the ‘My Pink Closet’ tab here on my website!
See you next week, darlings, on www.pink-tutu.com. Remember: Every Wednesday is Tutu Day!
