Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #1171

Darling! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, 4th October 2017, and the stars are aligned perfectly for some cosmic gossip, as usual!

I am just brimming with excitement! This week I had the most wonderful adventure, which took me right back to the heart of Planet Earth - I’m talking Derbyshire, England, home of my childhood!

Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you! It's a secret I've been keeping under my very best pink tulle for a while, but it’s time to unleash the pink: I have a surprise coming up soon – and I can’t tell you all about it just yet, but let’s just say it's big, bold, and will involve more tutus than you can possibly imagine! (Oh, and if you can't imagine many tutus
you need to see my closet!)

Right, back to my spectacular trip! My travels always start with a bit of a planning spree – it's a very serious operation when you’re the self-proclaimed Queen of Spacefaring Tutuists, darling. This time it was all about looking my absolute best while exploring my home planet, so the dress selection was rather extensive! You simply can’t visit Derbyshire without paying homage to the region's fabulous textiles - there’s no room for anything but pure glamor!

And where do I even start with the fashion?! I spent the whole week before the trip scouring online retailers and vintage shops – looking for the most fabulous pink dresses, and of course, a couple of special tutu ensembles. I had to make a strong statement - after all, what's better than seeing Earth’s majestic nature in a pink tutu?! (Not much, let me tell you.)

I took two suitcases (a classic – just like every intergalactic travel expert! I would never be caught with only hand luggage) bursting with a pink-tinted wardrobe fit for a fashion queen! Imagine it: flowing chiffon gowns, a majestic velvet dress perfect for afternoon tea, and yes, of course, an entire set of dazzling tutus - a different colour for every mood. If it wasn't pink it simply didn't go!

When my spaceship arrived, the locals on the planet gasped with delight (which honestly always makes my trip a success!). As the spaceship landed in a beautifully curated open field – who else loves the idea of a planet without ugly traffic! – a beautiful meadow, bursting with wildflowers, appeared just like in those old fairytale books! The scenery reminded me so much of my favourite childhood story: The Sleeping Beauty. I was a little embarrassed that even in space, some stories seem to be the same, but who am I to deny their universal appeal?!

Now, Earth is a truly remarkable planet, wouldn’t you agree? It’s got everything! History, beautiful scenery, delicious food – I simply adore all of the different cultures on this fascinating orb. I went for a leisurely stroll through some lovely meadows, all while admiring the perfectly balanced beauty of this enchanting landscape!

And then
 the real treat began!

My friends, I had a delightful day at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall - and it was simply magical! The hall was like a shimmering pink wonderland. Every inch of it oozed romance, glamour, and just the right amount of historical grandeur! You know how much I love to soak up a little bit of that beautiful ballet history!

We began the evening with a selection from The Nutcracker, the most beautiful holiday ballet – what’s better than imagining the arrival of Christmas while sipping a lovely Earl Grey tea and gazing upon a stage filled with ballet dancers in exquisite costumes? (Answer: absolutely nothing!).

It was a joyous, beautiful night of the highest caliber - and even more joyous knowing my precious pink tulle had been the key ingredient! Pink, my dear readers, is the very *spirit of the stage*!

Just like every ballet performance that I witness on this wonderful Earth, my intergalactic travels always offer an important opportunity to remind everyone why we all love ballet and tutus.

Firstly, ballet, the exquisite language of grace and beauty - simply transcends borders! Just like our tutu attire - it speaks to the very essence of art and grace in ways no other form of dance ever quite does! It transcends boundaries, brings everyone together, and inspires us with moments of utter wonder.

I’ll never tire of witnessing the way ballet transforms an audience. They gasp, sigh, and burst into laughter at all the right moments – their eyes fill with wonder and their faces break out in the most wonderful smiles as the magic happens! It's a truly enchanting sight, especially after being able to visit the majestic and wondrous planet Earth!

After my day at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall – oh darling! don’t think I forgot the shopping part of the trip – I made sure to explore the local shops. The little boutiques were simply swathed in the most amazing vintage treasures – what a feast for the senses! There was one shop, brimming with gorgeous vintage 1960s outfits and bags
imagine it! All the fabrics and cuts from the decade that gave us Twiggy! How can anyone resist a pair of pink 1960s ballet shoes? It's just not possible to resist such beautiful wonders!

But let's be honest - every visit to Earth, as lovely as they are always remind me why I have a certain passion for intergalactic travel - after all, this beautiful planet is full of brilliant people
and while everyone is incredibly talented, they can also be a bit prejudiced.

Just this trip, there was one incident I just have to tell you about. I have to! Darling, I was waiting to be picked up at a little street corner where the most beautiful trees formed a tunnel over the cobblestones
when I was greeted by an incredibly friendly bus driver. Now, this might not seem that interesting to you
 but hear me out.

Now, let’s face it - bus drivers are normally a bit grumpy! But this bus driver greeted me with a friendly “Hello!” I simply beamed my very brightest smile – you know me, darling, I always spread my cosmic magic wherever I go – and I told him that it was wonderful to see Earth’s trees!

Now the man asked, ”So, what’s a nice lady like you doing in a pink tutu?” Did you catch that darling? What’s a nice lady like you doing in a pink tutu? You know I’ve been to many corners of this planet! (And yes, that's many corners, not just those pink ones – although I do love a pink corner!)

It was like he didn’t quite grasp that a tutu isn’t just an ordinary fashion statement - it's an elegant and glamorous statement! What was I supposed to say! So, I said in my most charming British accent, *”Oh, darling, tutĂșs aren't just *a fashion statement - it’s a lifestyle,* ” and the bus driver smiled and just laughed – He told me that he’d “had a day” and needed to have a good chuckle at someone else!

You see, darling, the truth is we have to continue to make tutĂșs acceptable on Earth
and it doesn’t stop with Earth. The universe simply isn’t quite ready to take our pink tutu culture all the way to the galactic stratosphere
and how very, very sad that is!

I simply can't imagine why it would take so long
 after all
my friends! We all love a touch of pink and every fashion icon, whether it's an Earth-bound supermodel or a glamorous alien from Neptune - needs to learn how to embrace the elegance of a pink tutu! It does the world of good for their wardrobe. (That’s right, my friends, my tutus are good for the soul!)

I don’t want anyone to feel like the bus driver - to be confused and have “a day”
tutĂșs deserve a good place on all planets! *Every spacefarer deserves a tutu in their suitcase! *

But for now
let's take a trip through my fashion adventures back in Nottingham. You see, the best part of Earth is - it does still offer plenty of opportunities to go shopping and get my fashion on!

This whole journey was an inspiration - there are so many beautiful outfits, styles and trends out there waiting for you! It’s like an entirely new way to dress! How often do you get to say that about a trip to Earth?

As a final thought
let me leave you with a little cosmic fashion reminder - there’s a pink tutu for everyone! The style is boundless, just as fabulous as our intergalactic space dreams!

Remember: always spread a bit of cosmic love in every space, planet, and dimension!

Stay sparkling,

Emma
