Pink Tutu World: Post 1191 - Ballet on Planet Earth, 2018-02-21

Darling! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World!

Oh, the adventures! My little spaceship, "The Tutu-copter", has been zooming around the galaxy ever since my last blog, landing in some divine places! You know, you truly never know what awaits you when you take a leap into the unknown… And this time, well, let's just say that my heart is overflowing with "ooh la la"!

I just landed back on dear ol' Planet Earth - well, actually it was Derbyshire, where my Mum and Dad and my adorable kitten, Mr. Tutu, were patiently waiting for my return! You wouldn't believe the welcome they gave me - Mum even baked a huge pink cake decorated with adorable little ballerina swans! So sweet!

Before we get into all of the exciting happenings, though, let's discuss a very important date – 2018-02-21. Well, what a special day that was! A date every ballerina dreams of – it was International Ballet Day!

Oh, I was utterly overjoyed to see the celebration all across the world! Ballet classes in every nook and cranny of the planet, little girls in tutus with sparkles brighter than the stars, boys pirouetting with more grace than a swan in a rainstorm… It truly made my heart swell!

The celebrations didn’t just stop on Earth, darling! My little tut-a-licious spaceship took me to so many wonderful ballet events around the universe! You won't believe this, but there's this celestial ball in the middle of a nebulous cluster – imagine it, darling – swirling clouds of gas and stardust and a galactic ballet! * Oh my, the stars shimmered like crystals, the nebula dust swirling in harmony to the magical melodies played by the *most graceful celestial creatures, wearing iridescent gowns shimmering like rainbows! It was an unforgettable experience – like stepping into a fairy-tale that never ends!

As a ballerina with a taste for adventure, it's always such a delightful experience to meet fellow dance lovers, be it a planet or an asteroid! This intergalactic ballet performance had every single being on their toes - oh, it was divine!

The entire universe was abuzz with dancing, and my own ballet shoes were aching with joy! Every time I hop out of the "Tutu-copter," it seems like a new magical dance world opens up - what a lucky, happy ballerina I am, I tell you!

I met the sweetest beings - all dressed in the most exquisite designs, from galaxies to stardust – and it was so inspiring to share our love of the art. We danced in sync to the music of the universe – yes, it really is as amazing as it sounds!

Back here on Planet Earth, well, it seems the International Ballet Day festivities weren't stopping either!

In my neck of the woods - dear old Derbyshire – they had a fantastic event! Ballet students of all ages performing the most beautiful routines on a stage set with swirling stardust - like they actually brought the universe into the local community centre! Imagine it – little fairies flitting on stage in glittery tutus with tutus, surrounded by galaxies and constellations made of cardboard! Honestly, they truly had the whole place feeling like it had truly flown to outer space!

And the cherry on top was a grand performance by the world-renowned “National Ballet Company of Derbyshire,” or as I like to call them, the “Derbyshire Dancers”! Let me tell you, they're phenomenal – real triple threat, darlings! I actually have to be their biggest fan! The moves, the artistry, the pure passion, heavenly!

To keep the festivities going, I, of course, had my very own mini-ballet showcase! As a ballerina obsessed with the past, I dressed up in a vintage Victorian era tutu for a short performance of Le Cygne (The Swan), set to a melancholic music box melody. The atmosphere was magical – everyone looked completely spellbound! So charming and heartfelt – I did have everyone in tears, darling – even me! It's funny how, as a ballerina, you can experience the past, the present, and the future all at once!

Afterwards, to reward myself for all this hard work, I took myself off to one of the oldest and most charming antique shops in Derbyshire – a true treasure trove of beautiful vintage clothes and, of course, tutus!

Now, this was an absolute treasure trove for a serious ballet enthusiast like myself. The shopkeeper, Mrs. Bloom, a sweet old lady with sparkling blue eyes and a twinkle of mischief in her gaze, took me to the back of the shop. In the dim light of dusty antique lamps, rows and rows of elegant Victorian era tutus, with the most intricate hand-stitched designs, whispered promises of grand balls and majestic waltz tunes – my heart practically burst with joy! You know me, a classic vintage tutu in every color of the rainbow is a treasure to behold!

After lots of admiring the sheer artistry and craftsmanship of those ancient tutus – a truly inspiring spectacle! I picked myself out the most stunning pale-pink Victorian tutu. With delicate lace, embroidery, and the most flattering silhouette, this one was truly a showstopper, a testament to the graceful heritage of tutus! The perfect touch of pink for my collection, and let me tell you, it looked utterly divine!

Mrs. Bloom, beaming at me with that sweet twinkle in her eye, said that the tutu would "sparkle brighter than the stars and charm any audience, darling". Honestly, I couldn’t agree more!

On the way home, I took a detour and made a special stop at Derbyshire's own "World of Vintage and Classics" boutique for an afternoon of delightful shopping. I bought a gorgeous antique jewelry box overflowing with beautiful gemstones and sparkly rings, the most stunning vintage ballet pumps that fit like a glove, and a little pair of ballet-themed vintage sunglasses that would be divine for a tutu-themed spacewalk. A good wardrobe update never hurts – a ballet girl needs her new outfits, don’t you think?

Later that evening, I snuggled up with Mr. Tutu for a heart-warming evening at the Derbyshire Grand Theatre, enjoying a production of Sleeping Beauty! Now, there is truly nothing better in life than settling in, indulging in delicious hot chocolate and popcorn – all served in cute porcelain swan-shaped cups and bowls – and getting completely lost in the world of ballerinas!

Of course, all of this amazing entertainment wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and skill of the dancers! They poured their hearts and souls onto that stage, their leaps, twirls, and intricate moves making everyone in the theatre hold their breath and clap wildly at the end! Honestly, darling, I never tire of seeing this timeless tale played out in such a stunning and graceful fashion!

My adventures in Derbyshire truly sparked joy within me – this wonderful ballet haven! Every visit makes me feel like I've stepped into a world of pure enchantment. After all, this is my little planet, isn’t it? And I want every single person on this precious Earth, whether they be young or old, a fashionista or an artist, to experience the pure magic of ballet.

This isn’t just a pastime for me, darling, it's a life calling. Ballet for all!

Oh, did I mention? It's not all tutus and tiaras, darling, I have to think of new ways to make it all happen! Being a ballerina isn’t easy, darlings! My love for dancing allows me to travel the cosmos and meet the most inspiring beings! In order to continue my expeditions and continue spreading ballet magic to every corner of the universe, I’ve also been working hard, learning new choreography for my ballet shows! I must earn enough "bling" for those essential fuel refills on the Tutu-copter. My ballet shows, you know, they actually do generate income! And not just any income, my darling, we're talking pink sparkly cosmic dust! That way, I can truly make it to those far-flung corners of the universe where they've never experienced a true ballerina in a glorious, fluffy, and very pink tutu.

My mission? Oh, of course! Every ballerina must spread the message: every heart deserves a dance!

This time, however, I will be showcasing my dance skills closer to home. Next week, on 28th of February, I’m thrilled to be joining a spectacular event in Manchester. I will be part of the “Dancescape” Festival, an amazing gathering of dancers of every level, every age and every style! You will not want to miss the grand finale, darling - an extravaganza with music and dance from every era imaginable! What an event it will be – ballet, contemporary, swing – it will blow your mind, darling! I have even been asked to showcase a routine from one of my favorite ballets. Guess which one?

But for now, my little Tutu-copter is calling! She's ready for my next big journey, and you, my darlings, won't want to miss what I have in store for the next blog!

Oh, I do love what I do! So don’t forget to stay tuned, my precious, for even more adventures, amazing stories and sparkly pink tutus right here on Pink Tutu World!

Remember, it's not just a pink tutu – it's pink tutu magic!

Much love,

Emma, the Pink Tutu Ballerina.
