Pink Tutu World: Intergalactic Ballet Adventures - Blog Post #1257

Wednesday, 29th May 2019

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad, intergalactic ballerina, and I'm so excited to be back with you on planet Earth for this week's blog post!

As you all know, my spaceship, the "Pink Petal", has been a bit busy lately, whisking me across the cosmos for a whirlwind tour of some absolutely dazzling ballet performances!

Let's dive right in to the pink-tastic highlights, shall we?

The Sparkling Star of Sirian Dance

My journey started on the planet Sirius, which, as you all know, is a shimmering star system filled with absolutely heavenly dancers! The "Sirian Star Ballet" is legendary - renowned for its futuristic movements and intricate choreography, with a touch of playful interstellar twirling that only these aliens can pull off. They have the most amazing, luminous, glittery, tutus, it was literally impossible to tell where the dancers ended and the star dust began! The dancers looked as if they had just emerged from a supernova! It was absolutely divine!

The Sirian ballet, by the way, is completely organic - a performance based on natural occurrences and patterns, like the pulsations of stars and the swirling patterns of the celestial dust. So incredible!

And of course, it was all set to the most breathtaking electro-magnetic soundtrack - a truly enchanting sensory experience! This performance had me completely enraptured and I found myself yearning to join in with their intricate steps!

Fashion Notes from Sirius

After the show, it was time to check out the local fashions. The Sirian style is all about luminous, swirling, colours and metallic fabrics - perfect for twirling in. They don't exactly wear tutus, per se, but the swirling outfits - you could practically see galaxies spinning in them! I ended up grabbing a fabulous glowing top made of what they call "sirian silk", which is some sort of organic light-emitting material they produce on Sirius - amazing! It's going straight into my wardrobe back on planet Earth. It’s perfect for performing in the dark. Oh, and it was discounted because the colour wasn't “cosmic blue” - a real bargain!

Next Stop - Vega

From the glittering starlight of Sirius, my spaceship zipped me over to the bright star Vega.

The ballet company here is absolutely divine. It was founded by the legendary Vigan Vega, the "Pink Tutus of Vega” and it has been running since the birth of time (the Vega's reckon it’s the oldest dance company in the galaxy). Vigan was actually responsible for inventing the first ever pink tutu and since that time the "Pink Tutus of Vega” have dedicated themselves to preserving the traditions and the beauty of that magical first pink tutu. She is my idol, really! I want to be like her!

You can't visit Vega without seeing their signature show, “The Star Song Suite”, a beautiful tribute to the wonders of space. There were graceful space walks across the stage, a stunning "solar flare" sequence that was almost too spectacular to bear, and of course, the famous “Vega pirouette”, where a lone dancer balances on a point of light.

After the show, I had the pleasure of having a long conversation with the company manager. It turned out he was also a pink tutu fanatic, although on the planet Vega he wore a green one - he's a very brave chap! But he does admit that pink is his ultimate goal for his daily outfits, just like mine! We talked about ballet history for hours and agreed that it's important to share our love of dance and all the colours of the galaxy with as many people as we can.

Tutus, Travel and Derbyshire Memories

You see, the "Pink Tutus of Vega" understand something that's truly special, and it's something I believe in with all my heart: the transformative power of a tutu. Whether you're twirling across the dance floor, gliding across a star field, or just wandering the streets of Derbyshire - where, by the way, I get a lot of inspiration from the peak district and its hills that look just like pink tulle. They’re just so inspiring, those hills and dales. A tutu can make you feel anything - brave, magical, elegant, empowered. It's all about embracing your own unique inner twinkle, whether you're from Vega or right here in good old Derbyshire. And, when it’s a pink one - well, it’s just even more special, that’s for sure.

Well, darlings, my spaceship journey isn't over yet. Tomorrow, it’s off to the planet Tau Ceti to meet a tutu design competition – who knows what amazing new ideas we’ll find on this exciting world? I can’t wait to show you!

Until next week, remember to wear your favourite pink tutu and always follow your dreams. Happy twirling!

Love,

Emma

Post Script:

P.S. - Today’s blog post is a little shorter than usual. That’s because I’ve spent the morning preparing for an exclusive interview I have tomorrow with “Planet Earth” ballet journalist extraordinaire, Sally Twirling, at her fantastic new magazine "Dancing Stars!"

As soon as the magazine is out, I’ll let you all know when it hits the shops. They wanted to feature a piece on me in the upcoming issue as I’m “a truly original inspiration in tutus.” - Apparently it’s my tutu, not my ballet dancing they are interested in - well I've always said it’s the dress that makes the dance, darling!

I will also be giving them some insider scoops on the latest ballet fashions, news from the galaxy and details on my exciting trip to the planet Tau Ceti - it's all going to be fabulous! Stay tuned for all the latest news, darlings.

A Bit of Ballet History for All You Tutu Fanatics

Today, being Wednesday 29th May 2019 , I feel like reflecting on a bit of ballet history. Did you know that May 29th, 1938 was the very date the “National Ballet of London” performed for the first time - a historic date for British dance and it also reminds us that planet Earth has a wonderfully long history of tutus! You can read up on the story and see beautiful pictures of this ballet troupe online.

It also feels rather poetic, considering that my ship left Derbyshire last Tuesday, on a journey across the galaxies, on May 28th. And this is actually just one of my very favourite things about space travel! Because if you can be at a world in another galaxy just a day later than the Earth, you are definitely moving through the fabric of time and that makes me feel wonderfully connected to all of space-time! But it’s also great to connect with all of our ballet heritage – in the world, in our galaxies and, of course, right here at pink-tutu.com. I think my blog is a nice little space for people like me to share a common love of tutus!

I just wish I was there in London, to celebrate this amazing, historically significant dance company with them! They’ve brought us many spectacular ballets, but they’ve also kept the spirit of classical ballet alive in their work - and so, I have so much love and respect for the company for preserving a wonderful and rich part of ballet’s past - as they are definitely going down in history as one of the world’s greatest ballet companies, too. And planet Earth’s ballets, from all periods of history are an important part of what inspires me on my ballet trips through the universe, darling! I find inspiration everywhere, but it is my planet Earth roots that keep me firmly grounded, literally!

Planet Earth: Where Fashion Really Takes Flight

There’s nowhere on Earth - in fact, nowhere in the whole galaxy that has a wider range of tutu fashions than on planet Earth! From Derbyshire, England to Sydney, Australia and from San Francisco to Tokyo - and all the wonderful places in-between, there are a plethora of stores with a mind-boggling variety of tutus and that is what really gets my spaceship engine going. There is absolutely nothing I love more than exploring different cultures through a ballet-inspired wardrobe. I know, this can sound really eccentric! But it's important to understand that it’s the most wonderful, exciting, and important aspect of all my intergalactic adventures. It is actually the foundation of everything that I do! It’s all about finding that new tutu! That one amazing, unique tutu! The perfect one, that'll make every one of you feel truly empowered in the world!

Oh, my tutus are really rather special and have taken me on an unbelievable adventure! I have worn some fantastic tutu outfits but there’s no time like “now” to start making memories. My motto, my darlings, is: The perfect pink tutu is just waiting for you! It’s out there - find yours. And wear it proudly and with passion! It really can take you places. Believe me!

I’ve loved sharing these journeys with you this week. If you have a fantastic pink tutu story - send it to me and maybe we can share your exciting tale here!

Well, that’s all, darlings! I must dash now to get my space ship all shiny and prepped for tomorrow's flight. Keep those ballet shoes dancing and always dream big!

Love,

Emma
