Helloooo darlings! Itโs Emma here, your intergalactic tutu-wearing guide to the universe! ๐ช๐ธ This week, I'm back on Planet Earth after a whirlwind tour of Andromeda, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute dream!
You all know how much I love my ballet, right? It's my lifeblood, my passion, my pink tutu-clad soulmate. But I also get this overwhelming sense of wanderlust, this yearning to explore the cosmos in search of the most magical and captivating ballet experiences the universe has to offer! โจ๐
This weekโs blog is dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary, and let's be honest, absolutely pinktastic! ballet extravaganza that took place on none other than Planet Earth โ 6th November 2019, to be precise. Yes, darlings, this mere mortal, your Emma, was able to snag a ticket to a very special ballet performance and I just had to tell you all about it!
Now, before I share all the glittery, fabulous details of this show-stopping night, letโs just rewind back a little. Remember those super chic interstellar looks I recently posted on my Instagram? I got them while I was on Andromeda, shopping for the most incredible outfits to wear for this very specific ballet performance. ๐๐ซ Yes, I always tailor my fashion choices to the occasion. After all, looking amazing is half the fun!
Of course, a true Pink Tutu World devotee knows that pink is always on point. So imagine my delight when I discovered a vintage pink tutu with the most stunning silver embellishments that would be the absolute epitome of grace and glamour โ and totally suitable for Earth's fashion norms, which, if I'm being completely honest, aren't quite as adventurous as those on Andromeda!
And just look at those heavenly silver shoes that completed my celestial ensemble. They sparkled like stardust under the dim lights of the spaceship during the flight to Earth. The silver colour so perfectly complimented the shimmering, star-dusted, midnight-blue sequins on the bodice of my vintage pink tutu!
Now, back to Earth. So, this specific ballet performance on 6th November 2019, was the one and only Nutcracker. For anyone whoโs been living under a rock for the past few centuries (or for those of you on planets that arenโt quite up-to-date on their ballet history), The Nutcracker is one of the most classic and beloved ballets ever made. Imagine an explosion of snowflakes, ballerinas gracefully soaring through the air, and an ethereal, mystical world filled with wonder and beauty โ all rolled into one fantastical performance! And, of course, who can forget those iconic candy canes? ๐ฌ๐ญ I mean, is it even a proper Christmas ballet without candy canes?! I know this ballet's not exclusively for the festive season, but that's just a fun little extra detail I had to share.
As I mentioned earlier, I love to combine my love of dance with my passion for travelling. This whole intergalactic tutu-wearing ballerina life, and yes, this particular journey to Planet Earth, was made possible by me โ thatโs right, yours truly, performing ballet shows all across the universe! Talk about a cosmic love story! The proceeds from my dazzling, sparkly ballet performances make all my interstellar dreams a reality. I get to see the universe, meet amazing aliens, try incredible food, and Iโve even discovered a hidden passion for shopping on some planets that are light-years away! So yes, it's true: I really do dance my way across the galaxy! Itโs not always easy balancing all these pink tutu-wearing dreams, but somehow it works!
As I took my seat in the Royal Opera House in London, I found myself surrounded by people from all walks of life โ a symphony of tutus, sequins, and velvet gowns. There was something truly magical in the air. You know that tingly feeling you get when you're on the cusp of something special? That was it.
Now, if you know anything about me, you know I can never resist a little fashion moment. Before the show even started, I couldnโt help but steal a peek at the other ballet fanatics and fashion lovers, because let's be real, some outfits were chefs kiss. One group of people โ it looked like they were on a school trip, which was adorable by the way! โ was all wearing bright, red tutus and coordinating tops with tiny gold bells. Oh my god, divine! A few were sporting velvet gowns, but, and I canโt believe I'm saying this, it was just not quite my style, and honestly, I wasn't surprised that Earthlings still favoured solid colour palettes as compared to, well, the incredible fluorescent colour palettes they use on Andromeda!
Finally, the lights dimmed, and the curtain rose, and I was instantly swept away into a world of magic, wonder, and wonderous, delicate tutus! My eyes were wide with excitement as the ballet dancers twirled, leapt, and soared across the stage. There was so much grace, fluidity, and power in their movements. Even as I watched from the plush velvet seats in this grand old theatre, I was utterly captivated.
At one point, during the Snowflake Waltz, this ethereal, otherworldly music sounded like celestial voices whispering to me โ like an invitation to fly amongst the galaxies. You could almost hear the celestial beauty and tenderness of the stars as these tiny dancers gracefully drifted and twirled โ their movements so elegant, like whispering wisps of air dancing around the cosmos.
Honestly, darlings, if the stars ever get jealous of the beauty of this earthly ballet, I don't blame them. The Nutcracker is an absolutely breathtaking display of pure artistic brilliance โ from the whimsical music that transports you to another realm to the dancers' impeccable execution of each delicate, swirling movement. They truly made every tutu on Planet Earth want to join their ballet class!
The best part of my ballet adventure was this absolutely divine ballet cafe I found near the theatre after the show. Imagine a pink and gold-themed haven filled with delicate French macarons, sparkling Prosecco, and all kinds of ballet-inspired desserts, perfect for satisfying every craving! I mean, I have to stay true to the theme โ what is a ballerina without a healthy, delightful, sweet treat after a stunning show? They were serving everything pink โ cakes, cookies, cupcakes โ everything was adorned with the most divine little pink floral sprinkles, which made for the cutest pink themed Insta-story! ๐ง๐ฐ๐
One of the delicious-looking pink cookies had the perfect pink tutu print โ talk about pink-tastic! ๐ฅ You bet I indulged, darlings. I always save room for dessert after ballet shows โ especially on Earth! Theyโre also known for amazing gourmet food and you know Emma just had to give the locals a try!
In the grand scheme of things, darlings, I find my journey here on Earth to be incredibly inspiring. Planet Earth really knows how to do a fantastic ballet. But as I mentioned, my planet-hopping tutu adventures are not yet finished! You can expect more from this very special Pink Tutu World gal - including a pink blog update next Wednesday โ so keep your eyes peeled, and keep those tutus twirling! ๐๐ฉฐโจ
Till then, don't forget to rock your pink tutu proudly and spread some cosmic joy. The world (and the universe!) needs more sparkle, and thereโs no better way than with a touch of pink, darling. ๐
Love, Emma โจ๐
