Darling Delights!
It’s Wednesday, my loves! Which means, of course, it's time for another Pink Tutu Planet Earth Blog! Grab your favourite pink tulle confection, pour yourself a pot of Earl Grey, and get ready to hear all about my latest interstellar escapades.
This week I’m absolutely bursting with excitement to tell you about a simply sensational trip I took to drumroll please… Planet Earth! Yes, you heard right, my sweet cherubs, yours truly has finally returned to my home planet for a much-needed dose of home-grown delights!
It wouldn’t be an Emma adventure without a sprinkle of cosmic glitz, so naturally, my journey involved a luxurious, feather-trimmed space shuttle – naturally, painted in the most exquisite shade of pale pink – that arrived at Heathrow with a fabulous pop that startled even the seasoned airline staff! They were quite surprised to see me, dearest darlings, but I assured them that the tutus would be coming, one ballet step at a time, to their runways soon enough.
Derbyshire Calling!First stop, naturally, was a trip home to my family’s cottage in the most gorgeous part of Derbyshire, where my parents, the dearest, loveliest souls ever, gave me the most amazing welcome home celebration! They even wore pink tutus, and my Mum did a spectacular rendition of a waltz to 'Singin' in the Rain', right there on our living room floor! The tutus truly make a home!
Of course, no visit back to England is complete without a bit of tutu shopping! As it turns out, a few fab boutiques have popped up on the cobbled streets of Matlock! Can you believe it?, I even discovered a whole section devoted to tutu history – imagine, darlings, my heart nearly stopped when I saw the incredible ballet costumes of the Victorian Era, adorned with a myriad of feathers and even ribbons of sparkly, glittery, pastel pink!
From Country Cottage Charm to Cosmic Fashion
And after the charming calm of my Derbyshire countryside stay, I was ready for the next stage of my adventure - the London leg! Oh, London is truly the fashion capital of the Universe! And trust me, there’s no place on earth where you’ll find more incredible pink tutus! I practically lived at the Victoria and Albert museum! They have a fabulous exhibit on Ballet Fashion History which left me completely awestruck with wonder, each costume showcasing the exquisite beauty of tulle, feather and, yes, of course, an ample dose of shimmering pink! Goodness me, how I love a good feather, don't you?. I even saw the actual tutu worn by Dame Margot Fonteyn in The Sleeping Beauty, with a truly bewitching swirl of the softest silk!
But darling, let me tell you, even the most exquisite costumes must be complemented with deliciously darling attire! Now, my darling loves, London really outdid itself in terms of delightful fashion finds. It's a haven for tutus, from tiny, elegant ones, to a wide array of frothy, pink ballet slippers in every imaginable shade, with heavenly satin ribbons that danced to the tune of my heartstrings. There was even a boutique filled with charming, delicate feather boa jackets and absolutely stunning tutus trimmed with pink pearls and rhinestones – so luxurious! You can truly dance all over your shopping, dearest love!
A Dance With The StarsOf course, a trip to London isn’t complete without a sprinkle of sparkle on stage! Just the way I like it! Luckily, it just so happens that the Royal Opera House had a production of Giselle, running on the 24th of February!
This ballet truly tugged at my dearest, sweetest heartstrings. From the breathtaking opening scene in the countryside (you can truly tell those artists are experts at crafting breathtaking greenery) to the ethereal finale in the spirit world, my goodness, you wouldn't believe - it felt like I was floating among the celestial spheres myself. My dear Giselle, she looked divine in her wispy white tutu.
Now, if only they’d incorporated a touch of pink, of course, the entire performance would have been utterly magnificent. I have to admit, my dearest darlings, that sometimes it simply breaks my heart to see such a classic ballet miss the opportunity to add a little extra sparkle with pink! But hey, a ballerina's gotta dance with the trends of the Universe!
The dance itself was incredible, so light and lyrical! You could tell each dancer put their heart and soul into their every twirl. It left me wanting to twirl until I reached the dearest stars myself! The sheer elegance of the costumes was dazzling, all light and airy with delicate ribbons – heavenly, simply heavenly! But let me tell you, a splash of pink would have transformed the entire spectacle to a true, heart-stopping moment! But perhaps it’s too early for the Universe to see such brilliance. But just imagine, darling – an ethereal cloud of ballet with the delicate touch of a pink tutu. I know you're all just as enchanted as I am.
I do believe that ballet on this planet has a bewitching charm, don’t you? All those ethereal leaps and swirling, beautiful tutus – it's a true gift for the senses! I always love finding a ballet school to have a little twirl on my adventures – and, believe it or not, I actually stumbled across the darling cutest one called the “Twinkle Toes” dance academy! They had the cutest ballet class! They had darling little fairies, and some budding ballerinas in adorable tutus of pale pink! Goodness, it’s simply adorable – every tiny dancer has so much potential and joy to bring to this Universe. They even wore their tiny hair buns adorned with glitter and tiny little feather boas, I swear you simply can’t miss it – my heart almost burst with delight! I know, in my dearest heart, they will soon take the galaxy by storm.
Pink Tutu on the Rise!
My mission, of course, sweetest loves, is to see the entire Universe decked out in the most delightful, magnificent tutus! I'm doing my sweet part to spread the word – because what could be more incredible than a Universe filled with graceful, enchanting movement, and a kaleidoscope of pink tutus for everyone? After all, we are all dancers of the Universe. It's about spreading beauty and grace, step by step!
So, that's it for my adventures this week!
See you back here, darlings, for a new post, on my beloved website www.pink-tutu.com, next Wednesday.
Love and Twirls,
Emma x
